Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Getting close to the magical 10k!! Sure, but none of them are guaranteed to be new. It’s likely given the theme’s track record, but still, I’m not getting my hopes up -

They have to be new since the old prints are well, too old The Rivendell set didn’t repurpose a single one from the 2012-13 sets -

Yes, they‘re both rumoured to be included in the set! Pretty much the only things I’m looking forward to in the entire wave, unless they have some interesting variants up their sleeves. Doubt it -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I’m not a “popular thing bad” type of person, but this is the first LEGO license I actively dislike The sets could - if they end up happening - have interesting parts, but this news sparks no joy -

BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The poster includes some pretty interesting references, like Barriss using one of Ventress‘ lightsabers to duel Anakin or the AT-TEs on the asteroids! It is quite weird though to see the uncanny cartoony faceprint style from back in the day combined with modern prints on the same poster. Still better than pretending they never existed And the octuptara looks a lot better than its 2014 counterpart! -

Barad-dûr has been on the top of my wishlist too! I wouldn’t be so sure about it not being as appealing to casual collectors as other set ideas It’s one of the biggest icons of LotR in general, especially with the Eye of Sauron on top! Instantly recognisable and an imposing display model. No way this won’t be a smash hit! Frodo, Sam, Sauron, and a coupla orcs is what we know from the description -

Huh, haven’t noticed it, good catch! Yeah, that kinda has to be the one from the new set! Hope this means a reveal is imminent -

We have pictures for the Jurassic World, Super Mario, Friends, Lunar New Year, Monkie Kid, botanical collection, and Minecraft sets, plus the modular museum, one of the two Sonic sets, and the Dune set SW is pretty late again, but I’m expecting pictures any day now! Too bad it’s just two sets, but what you gonna do -

They won‘t throw a movie minifig into a comic-/cartoon-based set, but if they did, it would count Still no way this is happening unless they changed the rating a while ago. As @THELEGOBATMAN pointed out, this is a line they won‘t cross, and neither should they IMO. Not just because I don‘t wanna buy a Skullpoopl cosplay -

While the noose around my neck is tightening, I‘m not giving up! Unless Skullpoopl 3 is really getting a PG-13 rating despite repeated reports to the contrary, I‘m safe -

Fair enough, but most people would likely consider it a ROTS set since that‘s what people think of when they hear „Phase II Cody“ But you’re right, it works as a TCW set just as well. Leaving it ambiguous might have been intentional -

…qué? And what movie could that be? Despicable Me 4? Maybe the Rise of Gru sets did better than I gave them credit for. Pfffff, as if Safest bet I ever took! -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
What? That’s not supposed to be a good thing New movies (and thus tie-in sets) are what keeps interest in these themes alive I was thinking that too, but Inside Out 2 isn’t exactly LEGO material (except for CMF figures maybe), we would’ve heard about Apes sets by now considering the movie gets released in May, and the Rise of Gru sets apparently didn’t do well enough for a DM 4 theme to make sense. Trolls Band Together also didn’t get any sets, after all! -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I might be overlooking something, but if I‘m not mistaken, 2024 might be the first year in a loooooong time without any sets based on a new theatrical movie No new MCU movies besides Skullpoopl, and none of the other evergreen themes have an upcoming movie scheduled either (SW, HP, JW, DC). In my book, not even the Dune set counts as it’s clearly based on the first movie Weird. When was the last time this happened? 2009? -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly! If they give us that plus another new torso, that would be enough parts to create a group of non-uniform looking Death Eaters I doubt we’ll ever see a battlepack, but they could include those prints in a small OotP or DH1 set -

Lego Minecraft 2023, leaks, rumors and discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Lemerbrix's topic in LEGO Licensed
That is one issue, the other being the existence of an 18+ Minecraft set in the first place Why would an Ender dragon set, even as a display model à la Hedwig/Fawkes/Hungarian Horntail, be 18+ when none of those were? Unless it’s just the head in a style similar to the SW helmets, but even then it’s much more simple than them in its design. Honestly, I can’t think of a single set idea that absolutely requires that 18+ stamp Minecraft being as blocky as it is, even larger sets can easily still be 12+! -

With the difference that nobody would think sets are coming just because someone posted a wishlist on EB Youtubers have higher visibility and thus need to be more careful than us when it comes to speculation. Unless they purposefully make stuff up for clicks, in which case screw’ em Rivendell was first confirmed roughly a year ago, including the release window, right? I hope we soon get a release date for Barad-dûr then. March would be the best-case scenario! -

I wouldn’t mind this schedule! However, once the movies return, there would have to be another wave in October The main thing I like about your pitch is strengthening the January waves again. The last three plus the upcoming one all had decent sets, but they were mostly mundane and nowhere near as cool as what the respective 2HY sets offered. Compare that to the excellent Jan 2020 wave, with the Sith Trooper and Mando BPs, Poe’s X-Wing, the TIE Dagger, Duel on Mustafar etc. More of that again, please! The 2024 wave is pretty pathetic number-wise, but at least the Crimson Firehawk is a new ship with three new characters and most likely a new head piece for Nubs! That’s more than can be said for 2021-23 -

You mean before 2015? Because since then, we‘ve always had at least three waves a year Seriously. It‘s almost comical how much cooler the 2HY sets have been compared to their 1HY counterparts since 2021 -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you‘re rooting for the decline of MCU sets in hopes of more comic-based stuff, you might be in for a rude awakening Without the MCU, the Marvel theme wouldn‘t exist in the first place! Also, opening weekends aren‘t everything. Elemental was declared a colossal flop after the opening weekend, but had long legs and ended up grossing almost $500 Mio. I‘m not saying the same thing will happen to The Marvels, but it‘s too soon to judge its overall performance. -

Not really. The Warbird only appeared in the first GotG, so it makes sense for Ronan to be included! That doesn’t mean a GotG Vol 2 set (featuring Ego) won’t be released further down the line -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I quite like the new Ronan minifig, despite the old specialised hood piece being so much better Eh. Them going back to GotG however gives me hope for some good Infinity Saga sets in the summer! My biggest wish right now is a Kaecilius minifig. Not an extremely important character in the grand scheme of things, I know, but after the utter betrayals that were the Fantastic Beasts and Indy themes, it would be our best chance for a Mads Mikkelsen minifig! Unless we suddenly get a full-fledged 007 theme or a Galen Erso minifig, but Kaecilius is definitely the most likely option
