  1. I don‘t see how Caped Crusader is relevant here. This year‘s sets are based on BTAS, and BCC doesn‘t even have a confirmed release date yet
  2. This being the Internet, not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but if not: Yes, go pester some poor employees with requests and annoy them into compliance, that‘ll work They will surely pour countless resources into a dying theme just to appease some online complainers Seriously though, that’s not gonna work. Requesting a specific set for a highly successful theme and asking for a theme in a downward spiral to be revitalised are two very different things. If you want the DC theme to continue, it’s simple: Vote with your wallets. Support the theme by buying the few sets we are getting!
  3. No idea what‘s going on. @Falconfan1414 has been silent for weeks and deleted all his recent leaks and @Brick Clicker also hasn‘t posted a news video in a while. Hopefully it‘s just a bit of a draught! Not that the leakers owe us anything, but we need something to discuss This month has been unusually light on news, for any theme!
  4. You can find the information in the main Minecraft thread: Too bad the Minecraft threads never get pinned, but there is sadly too little discussion going on
  5. The 1999 Maul head had lots of misprints though. One of mine looks derpy and the other has no yellow print in his eyes, just white As goofy as the grinning one was, at least it had no (or at least way fewer) misprints!
  6. I appreciate they‘re compatible, but kinda weird that this was one of the deciding factors for the Sorting Hat‘s scale when the maxifigs aren‘t even available anymore Not complaining though, it‘s more like a nice bonus feature since the hat works well on its own!
  7. Finally some consistency with the eyes! Fingers crossed Saw leaks next!!
  8. I think the Venator is a good example of how to handle future UCS sets: have the popular character(s) as timed exclusives and keep the minor ones exclusive as a nice incentive for collectors. That way, most people should be happy I actually prefer this over having downgraded versions in cheaper sets as they sometimes did before. Minifigs should stay consistent between sets IMO!
  9. I know, that‘s why I said „most places“ The Netherlands were also the first country in Europe to receive D+, if I recall correctly! You guys must have different laws However, this further proves my point: two years later, and „Max“ still hasn‘t expanded much. D+ didn‘t take that long! But what can you expect from a company run by Mr „Honey Boo Boo“ While I‘m kinda sick of the preferential treatment PS and CoS are getting from TLG, I’d welcome the new Great Hall being PS-based with open arms IF they included Prof Vector and the troll Not saying I wouldn‘t like the set if those two elements were to be missing, but that‘s probably the best they could do to make it interesting for long-term fans. Purely in terms of characters, I mean! The build itself will undoubtedly be great given the size
  10. That's why I said "for the most part" I haven't played the Arkham games and even *I* think what they did in the Suicide Squad game is downright insulting. That's the other issue. A show locked behind a streaming service won't do, it has to be something widely available!
  11. 20 to 40 sets within 2 years? There must a parallel universe where that’s realistic but it sure as sh*t ain’t this one I agree that new kid-friendly content is needed to get kids interested in DC again. DC has been catering to adult fans a lot in recent years with Joker, TSS, Peacemaker, and the recent KTJL game. Even The Batman was more geared towards an adult audience, so much so that having sets based on it was quite shocking after seeing the movie! Not saying that’s a bad thing as it paid off quite well for the most part (compared to 80% of the DCEU), but still, it doesn’t really translate to good set opportunities. Personally, I place my trust in Gunn. After he and his crew managed to turn the GotG into not only a successful trilogy, but also a merchandise juggernaut, I don’t see why he can’t do the same for DC I’m not expecting more than 3 sets for Superman Legacy, but if the DCU becomes popular, I anticipate more waves with comic-based stuff too!
  12. It does look better on other pictures and in person though!
  13. It’s included in two Monkie Kid sets plus the Lunar New Year restaurant
  14. Two things are very likely: Maple being included. I don’t believe even for a second she’ll stay exlusive to that polybag It’s not 2014 anymore! A peach tree being featured. I highly doubt they coincidentally released a new moulded peach in the same year the AC theme gets introduced. Other than that, no idea! I hope for something KK-related though. Would be kinda weird not to have him in the first year!
  15. With the much lower price and piece count, this has to be a different set. Either that or they completely redesigned it in the process! If it's not the survey leak set, I wouldn't expect any minifigs. This one has to be the spiritual successor to the large Frozen set from a couple years ago, so it's very likely a minidoll set, sad as that is Can't wait for those! Definitely the highlights this year, alongside the Snow White cottage
  16. These two are definitely the highlights this summer! I hope the Great Hall gives us a brand-new interior plus Prof Vector and/or a new Lockhart variant with the BTS hairpiece! Since the Durmstrang ship is already confirmed to feature Karkaroff and Crouch and the March wave has so many cool animals, I’ll be very lenient and declare 2024 the winner if they give us either two other new characters or a new character plus another new creature Shouldn’t be too hard!
  17. Outrage over a cloth piece? Bit of an overdramatic reaction, no? Well, it’s the same group throwing hissy fits over helmet holes, so that tracks Granted, I’d also prefer it to be included, but it’s hardly the end of the world if it isn’t. At least the figure is no longer exclusive to the Venator, which is great!
  18. I think we will indeed see pictures around March 1st Pretty weird wave, with just these two sets. The other two getting delayed was inevitable though
  19. My apologies This was indeed getting a bit off-topic! So, back to topic. I hope to hear more about the 2HY sets soon! Weird how we have a full minifig list for one set, a partial one for another, and nothing for the rest In my mind, these sets will be the deciding factor in whether 2024 will become my favourite LEGO year ever. 2023 wins in some categories (Marvel, Indy, JW) and 2024 in others (Star Wars, DC, Icons) but it currently evens out overall. If the 2HY Potter stuff can outdo last year’s sets, 2024 will win! The strongest HP set last year was Gringotts, which cannot really be topped on its own. The Burrow looked great in the survey leak, but is not as special and desirable as Gringotts was. However, the wave itself has a lot more potential! The 2023 2HY offerings were solid, but pretty lacking in the minifig department apart from Scabior and some neat variants.
  20. Sticking closer to the books is not always a good thing. For instance, who wants to see the “slaves actually like being slaves and Hermione is silly for challenging the status quo” plotline being adapted? And if they add stuff, it’s most likely horrible anyway. The additions the FB movies made to the lore were pointless at best (Nagini being a cursed human for instance) and others through Pottermore were downright insulting and contradictory. Remember the infamous „wizards and witches used to shit on the floor and vanish the evidence“ tidbit that was not only mindbogglingly stupid but also blatantly contradicted the lore, completely ignoring the existence of the CoS?
  21. Also, Max (what a horrible name, I still laugh at the moronic decision to drop HBO, would be like renaming D+ to just Plus) still isn’t available in most places outside the US and there don’t seem to be any expansion plans. Why release sets on something locked behind a limited streaming platform as opposed to sets based on beloved and readily available movies?
  22. I see it as a cynical cashgrab. I‘m not a fan of remakes/readaptations in general, since they‘re usually vastly inferior. The only exceptions I can think of are LOTR and Dune, and that‘s partially due to the first versions being mediocre at best Haven‘t seen the Percy Jackson show, but it can only be an improvement over the two movies. In these cases, it‘s justified as the first adaptations aren‘t exactly beloved. I already dislike movies being remade, and now the current trend of movies being remade into streaming shows annoys me even more. What’s the point of stretching a 2 hour movie into an 8-10 hour season? Having more is not always better. I‘m not saying it‘s gonna suck, but it will not live up to the movies. Good luck finding actors that can match Rickman, Coltrane, Harris, and co, a composer that can compete with Williams, or an art/costume department that can outdo the excellent work done for the movies It‘s an uphill battle from the get-go because everything will be compared to the movies. And then there‘s the living can of worms that‘s JKR.
  23. I sure hope so, because I will only buy sets based on the movies. Also, who’s to say they will even do sets based on the show? The only streaming shows to even get sets are a small handful of Netflix ones plus some of the D+ shows, and even then Mando is the only show to be treated equally to the movies. And that happened only after proving itself to be a smash hit! I’d say focusing on the movies is a much smarter business move, and not because of my barely-disguised personal bias against the show The movies have stood the test of time, whereas the show may just crash and burn and get cancelled after one season, Netflix-style I‘m certainly not rooting for it to succeed, that‘s for sure.
  24. Yeah, they never outright stated it would be pushed back, but the intended release date was autumn 2024 before the strikes. Since they still had to film for a while (or are still doing so, I forgor), there’s no way they can still it release this year. Also, they shouldn’t. It’s better to spread things apart and we already have TBB S3, The Acolyte, Tales of the Jedi S2, and Skeleton Crew this year! And it’s not like we can expect much from Andor set-wise anyway. We can consider ourselves lucky if we get a single set! Since that coincided with certified fake information, I’m not buying into it. It’s vague enough to potentially be true, but still Not getting my hopes up before a reliable leakers confirms it!
  25. Our only real chance is a recast. If they drop or sideline Kang, that‘d be it, because now we can certainly forget minifigs based on any of the variants played by Majors Our best chance may actually be a comic version at this point. …venomised Kang, anyone?
