Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
Wesley D replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think your creation is really amazing! You made a fantastic and big looking castle with a reasonable number of parts. The building techniques and the proper amount of detailing make it look as it could be produced as an official set right away. I really hope it achieves 10.000 supporters as fast as possible. I absolutely want this castle! Good luck!- 532 replies

Very impressive! You have done a wonderfull job! I really like all the different continuous lines and surfaces on the outside, with all those bright colors. I wish you good luck and a lot of fun building your creation with real bricks! I'm looking forward to the pictures.

A bridge and a tall black tower, just like the Wolfpack Tower!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

Thank you both for the nice comments! I'm glad you like it! The decorated tiles brought me to designing this building. Some of them were designed as albums and others just lend themself for such use. I'm keeping an eye out for such tiles in the future to add them to the store.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I'm pretty proud of the "Records" sign. I have tried out several words with different building techniques and this one was just great, in a style I haven't seen before. I'm glad you like it!

Thank you all very much for your nice comments! I designed the building in LEGO Digital Designer, where colors look different than in real bricks. Using some of my bricks and parts as reference, I'm very satisfied how the color scheme finally turned out. This type of architecture (I guess it fits under art deco), with the tiled facade and broad windows, is ubiquitous over here. I always thought those buildings were rather boring, but then the idea grew on me it could fit perfectly with a record store. These buildings come with sloped roofs, but I decided to give mine a flat roof as I thought it would look better, especially along the official modular buildings.

I'm glad to show you my last creation, even though I did build it already one year ago. It is my second 16 studs wide modular building. Finally I have made some time to make and share the pictures. If only I had some more photography skills... It's a record store with an apartment above. The ground floor and record store: The first floor and living room: The second floor and sleeping room: Thank you for watching and I hope you liked it!

I have been searching for the small birds on Bricks & Pieces, but I couldn't find them. The blue one isn't listed under the Bookshop, while the chameleon already is present. The white bird can't I find either, but I have already a nice flock of them. Could it be because they came first with Disney licensed sets? Too bad!

I'm starting to appreciate the modest size of the teal townhouse more and more. It's indeed a cute building and next to the Parisian Restaurant it looks fine. I'm curious how it does next to the others. If only the depth of the upper floor wasn't reduced by the terace, it is looking very shallow and the interior space would have benefited. I'm already thinking of building a row of those townhouses in different bright colors.

I really love the warm color scheme, I think the detailing is fabulous and was hoping for this composition of 2 16-wide buildings, yet I felt dissapointed seeing them for the first time. The grey accents of the book store look a bit heavy, especially the curved tiles on the upper floor, but after getting used to seeing it, the building has grown on me a lot. The apartment on the other hand is definately missing a middle floor. It doesn't feel right. The designer video shows an extra floor makes the building fantastic. It just must have been ment this way, but they have probably skipped it to reduce parts and repetition. The compromises made is also obvious in the very weak backside, where it looks like they have cut off a part of the upper floors. To bad, as otherwise I would have been lyrical. The mouse trap is to sinister for me and some more printed books would have been welcome, but I think the detailing is great with nice interior elements, fine prints, a good looking tree, a lovely blue bird and so much more to discover soon!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Wesley D replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The color scheme looks fantastic. The blue building on the right seems to have a brown door that's situated a bit higher than the sidewalk, just like the brownstone townhouse that came with the Pet Shop. How great would it be to have 2 seperate 16-wide buildings again! Especially with another residential building that could be copied into other colors! I'm really excited! -

It looks we are getting something more European if that picture is real, as the background buildings have been fitting for the previous modulars! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Those background buildings look British to me. Seems like it really could be a typical old fashioned book store. Exciting! -
Thank you for sharing! I hope they will become available on Bricks and Pieces as I want some for my blue spacemen with regular modern helmets!

I think it's a fantastic set, perhaps even the best LEGO City set I know. From the outside the building looks pretty big. On the inside the space is limited, but the rooms have nice interiors. It comes with many minifigures and they look nice too! The ambulance is a great vehicle. I think the small helicopter is the weak link, but I understand he's there because children like helicopters. I got mine last year and hope to turn it into a modular building once, when I have some more time.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Wesley D replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
After months of unsuccessfull tries I just tried to finish an order again. This time started again problematic. I couldn't proceed with the cart I had selected this week, something went wrong each time I tried to continue. So I emptied my shopping cart and made a small selection of parts I wanted the most and tried again, just to test. It finally succeeded! Such a fine feeling! -

Another month later and I'm still not able to finish an order online, the payment authorizing remains problematic. It seems I'll have to phone to finish an order. I think it is odd the problem doesn't get fixed. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Watching the video I don't feel their enthousiasm about the modular buildings anymore. It's more like they state to continue because of the succes of the line. Could it be they are getting tired of the theme? -
It has been a year since the anouncement of the rerelease of the wind turbine. After the Taj Mahal and the Vestas Wind Turbine last years I thought we were in for a yearly rerelease out of the vault, but I haven't seen a single hint, rumour or leak yet. Does anyone think we could expect such a rerelease again soon?

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Wesley D replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I experience the same. It's pretty annoying as this is going on for months. B&P is offline for most of the time and when it comes back then we aren't able to pay. Best thing to do is call customer service I guess. 2 months ago I could finish an order that way. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Wesley D replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Last week I have experienced the same. After contacting LEGO online they restored my VIP points. They thought they solved the problem while B&P was offline, but it seems they were wrong. They advise to wait a bit longer to make a large order, but small orders can be made on telephone. -
I just experienced the same. I also used a VIP reward code, but couldn't complete the order. The second time I tried I couldn't even use the code anymore. I'm really upset. Bricks & Pieces was so long offline but hasn't been improved, I have been spending again a lot of my limited free time on failing orders.
