Grand effort there. Are your custom parts handmade, or 3D printed? Or do they come from a third party seller, and you paint them up (splendidly I may add)?

The availabe space fills faster then expected. 😀

You have your work cut out for sure. That access bridge to the main tower does really draw the eye. And seen from a defensive view is a good idea too. Very exposed so defenders in the tower can have easy targets on invaders using the bridge.

Granted, but that's not different as most new sets that come out, especially outside the City branch. Newly printed torso's are simply part of the appeal of alot of the sets outthere. Thanks for confirming the pinrted curved slopes in 40581. I wasn't sure yet. Since a way better Majisto could be purchased through BAM then in 10305, I sincerely hope he won't be an exact copy of the Lion Knights Castle set. I'd be okay with (a) Lion Knight(s) companion(s) in the GWP, but not a bland blue skirted minifig with a curved hat and a beard element.

In this case they amended on the existing print, didn't create a brand new one. In a way, that's hopefull. The old dragonknight print, front-and-aft, might be possible.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GeoBrick replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
And the orange ones are included in the Summer VIP pack. -
A beautiful landscape, and mysterieus at the same time. One could wonder what those blue champigno-like things are. Ready to trap some careless bypasser? Or those green 'things' in the pools. Animals? Some kind of plant life? And what's the story behind the three wanderers? The downed spaceship looks to small to hold them all. Bounty hunters chasing the spaceships' pilot?

That's a really nice entrance alcove. Are those tiles from the Rivendel set?
-
Imagine what one could do with two inverted convex slopes and a single wedge plate. Create a winch platform on the 10320 crane

Here's a comparison. There's less of the white shirt visible in the 2015 soldier uniforms, but the shade of white used looks to me pretty much the same.

[MOC] Medieval castle at Ghent "Gravensteen"

Funny you would say that. It happens to be that the Count of Flanders that let the Gravensteen build as it (mostly) can be seen today used the Krak des Chevaliers in Syria as a template. The son of said Count ended up as ruler of Constaninople after the Crusaders and Venetians sacked the city in 1204. -
It is a reason to go shopping in a Lego Store instead of ordering online. But that's of course not possible for alot of customers. I happen to live within 25 km of a store so mosttimes not a problem.

Poor you! I could pick up my order at the delivery point thrtis noon. The set shipped in the cardboard box (a snug fit) and the GWP's were stacked around one of the sides in a transport box. These (the Kahuna and Blacktron set) had box damage. The Eldorado cardboard box had pushed into them. The rest sofar looks okay.

Definitely dig your new window design, LetsBrick. The build now feels like one part transits harmonically into the other.

[ENTRY] 6262 King Kahuka’s Throne Remake
GeoBrick replied to SevenDeadlyStreamers's topic in Pirate MOCs
Love the feel of the island, and the use of those curved tiles to create the wavey watery effect on the sea is splendid. The sail looks used and sturdy at the same time, without it looking too bloated. Nice balance there. In fact, the island's flow is so well that the use of angular slopes on the statues' ears kind of clash with it. I know the original set had very large and 'pointy' ears too, but you're not obligated to copy it to that extend. -
Pretty solid update, Danny_Boy4. Feels like you striked the right balance between foliage and open space now. I'm most fond of the statue and the left island. Especially the statue, with the many different ways you stacked the layers on top of each other. If I would go for details, I'd recommend adding a couple dark nougat coconuts to the two palm trees, and perhaps change some of the green plates on the right island and make it feel more trodden, like a tan-colored path or clearance around the statue and drum there.

Neither Bluecoats or Redcoats. I prefer both coats. Gives more versatility to man whatever MOC you create.

Since by now I already have a decent number of Imperial foot soldiers, I planned to use the current Eldorado torso's as officers, and the 2015 -and older torso's for footfolk of different branches (line infantry and cannoneers, or marines or somesuch).
-
Love how you covered up the studs on the angled pieces on the cannon part of the rampart. The only drawback I can think of is that's a very angular build, and then you have those two rounded windows in the tower. My gut feeling is that they clash with the overall view of the build, at least with the bottom ones.

Nice little island. With that much foliage on front, why not give us a hint of the face of an Islander Statue peaking through the greenery? A nose and eye or something peaking through the leaves? Would break up the massive 'green view' a bit. -
Enough to defend a reasonable-sized fief. Did you in some way paint the original markings on the archers and black guards, or stencil 16 red torso's with the blue/black shield markings?

You're kidding, right? At this rate I'll have a whole squadron before the next LOTR set comes out.

[MOC] Medieval castle at Ghent "Gravensteen"

Beautifully done. I noticed you didn't include the proposed new entrance pavillion. So I gather in a couple years you will need to find a new residence WITH elevator! (tussen haakjes, het artikel waar je naar linkt ligt achter een abonneeblokkade, we kunnen alleen maar de intro lezen.) -
Imagine that. I almost forgot to vote on it.
