Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you very much for the news, @toopizza13 and @Powered by Bricks! The Wildlife theme sounds very promising! For sure there will be three new animal moulds, plus maybe a new print for an animal - like in summer 2021. But it's a pity that of the only three sets the medium sized set is a 4+ sets. Do you think that Wildlife in this case will be savannah based? The Stunt sets could be nice, too. The most I'm curious about the arena. Hopefully it'll include some TV stuff. Which concerns the Bikes: 1. The bikes could go very well with the Stunt theme. 2. They seem to be some sort of collectible series within the City theme - we customers (and mainly the kids) can buy them seperately, but shall in the end buy all. 3. From the set names I bet that there is a costumed minifigure in each bike set (e. g. a chicken suit minifigure in the Chicken Stunt Bike) - this would make the bikes more different and "justify" the high price. As hyped I was when seeing all the civilian sets in winter, I must say that I'm really disappointed that there seems to be no single regular sold civilian set in summer. -
Summer sets according to Promobricks : 31119 Ferris Wheel - 1002 pieces - about 99,99 Euros 31120 Medieval Castle 31121 Crocodile 31122 Fish Bowl I'm really excited for the Medieval Castle (Could it include the same new Black Falcon torsos like in the Ideas Blacksmith Shop?) and am interested in how the Fish Bowl will look like. Crocodile is boring. But the Ferris Wheel could be interesting, too - esp. since there are always two alternate builds.

Hello everybody! Since I couldn't find any other topic about this theme, let's discuss this year's seasonal sets here. Here is what is known so far - apart from the Chinese New Year sets: 40462 Valentine’s Brown Bear - 14,99 Euros - already available via S@H 40417 Year of the Ox - GWP (with 85 Euros) ? - mid January? 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute - GWP (with 150 Euros) ? - late February til early March? 40463 Iconic Easter Bunny - 14,99 Euros - March? 30579 Easter Chick - GWP (with 55 Euros) ? - mid March? What are your thoughts?

Thank you very much for the information, @Aurore! I don't like the Ideas set, but the new tan horse is a beauty! Hopefully it will be available via Bricks & Pieces later this year - even unluckily for sure for a lot of money.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you all very much for the information! It seems as if some of you had been right about 60278 coming in late winter - I'm glad about this fact since this is the City set of the winter wave I'm looking the most forward to: Imo the price is too high, the police truck is missing doors, I dislike these Creator 3 in 1 style small cars and the new road plates and could very well have lived without the heli. But I really like it that we get a two floors big civilian building in an interesting new architectual style and with an interior depth of six studs and - like it seems - with some neat interior, too. Plus there seem to be some funny action elements and the battering ram in front of the police truck is something completely new, too. Lego City is definately going into the right direction (concerning prices and street plates not, but nearly everything other yes)! Btw: I built up 60291 Modern Familiy Home yesterday and I must say that I'm really happy with this set! Imo it's an improvement over the set from 2010 and it is for sure the best set under the medium and big City sets where the price is justified. -
That's really lovely and so well fitting for a WV scenery! I only would suggest to add one dark green 1x1 plate into the gap of the handle of the big cup.

Yes, for sure there'll be a new fairground set in 2021. 2020 saw the so called Haunted House where there was an intimation of a freefall tower included. Since in 2019 it was rumored that the next fairground sets will be a freefall tower and a wild water coaster, I can well imagine that 2021 will see some sort of wild water coaster or at least a set which has something in common or something to do with this. I can't imagine TLG skipping a year since they already skipped 2019 - plus they printed "Fairground Collection" on the box of the (failed) Haunted House (which actually isn't one). If at all, maybe there won't be a fairground set in 2022 because there might be an amusement park subtheme in Friends. But I completely agree with you that there has to be a real fairground type of attraction - something nice and colorful and with some small stands inlcuded like the sets from 2014 to 2018!

That's really excellent! In principle I wouldn't be that hyped about a police station for Winter Village. But this one goes so well with all other previous WV sets, it has some great and completely new architectual design plus a very nice interior and a useful car so that I would buy it at once if it was an official set. Btw: Did you already think about showing it at Lego Ideas?

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion

I completely agree with you - plus the idea of an aloe vera sound promising, too! I created a new topic for ideas for life-sized and other non-licensed 18+ sets - if you have additional ideas, you're welcome to share them with us there.- 137 replies

Hello everybody! With TLG releaasing the brand new 10280 Flower Bouquet as well as the 10281 Bonsai Tree as 18+ sets in the beginning of 2021, it's obvious that TLG has now in mind us AFOLs as well as life-sized models - even outside of Lego Ideas and partly even as regular sold sets. So I thought that it would be interesting to collect ideas what we would like as future life-sized and other non-licensed 18+ sets. So please share your thoughts! Here are my wishes for life-sized sets: Cactus Venus Flytrap Aloe Vera Christmas Tree (possibly with electric illumination?) Palm Winter Rose Fountain on the Table (maybe real working?) Mechanical Clock (maybe real working?) Safari Landscape Picture (mosaic) Snowy Christmas Landscape Picture (mosaic) Swamp Landscape Picture (mosaic) Beach Landscape Picture (mosaic) And here are my wishes for other non-licensed 18+ sets: Trains Elevated Train (re-design of 6399 Airport Shuttle) City City Center (grand emporium, opera house and office tower with laboratory) Kingdoms Market Place (medieval townhall, towngate, trader's post and bakery) Kingdoms Huge Castle (modular wall system, donjon, hall, stable, gate and draw well) Pirates Soldier's Harbor Pirates Civilian Harbor Ancient Roman and Ancient Egypt sets What do you think?

That's a beautiful MOC, @dutchmadebricks! I really like it how you added a very fitting and very nice landscape around the mill.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I understand that there are many people which like the new road system. I think that kids as well as AFLOs which haven't planned or built up their city already much like it. So the expansion pack with the new road system is quite ok for me - because when you don't want or need it, you simply don't buy it. But which I dislike is that you are forced to buy the new road system within all new bigger civilian sets. This increases the price for 5-20 Euros per set - and when you don't want or need the new roads, this is a lot of money which is then "thrown out of the window". (Since it doesn't appear in the consumer's catalogue nor (in contrast to 60235 and 60236) at S@H,) I fear that this means that 60278 Search for the crook's hideout got cancelled - that's really bad since this was the set I was looking the most forward to because it would have been the largest crook's hideout ever plus a building which you surely could have used as an industrial building. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you all very much for the information! It's a long time that I've been here, so there's much to write. Therefore I begin with my thoughts on the My City sets: 60290 Skatepark: - new buildable road plates increase the set's price enormously - set is 10 Euros too expensive - no big ramp (e. g. halfpipe) + finally a skatepark for LEGO City + four great minifigs + boy has medium-short legs + wheelcair in different colors for a stunt wheelcair + some nice and different ramps + a lot of playability + car for Vita Rush promo is a great addition and fits together with the beverage cans very well 60291 Modern Family Home: - new buildable road plates take away the money for more parts for the house itself - house is very small in depth - shower is too low - missing spigot in the bathroom - mixer in the kitchen is too huge - car is missing car doors + after more than a decade finally another city house + house includes all important rooms you need when thinking about a family home + four great minifigs + girl has medium-short legs + nice new dog + a lot of playability + completely new style for the car + much accessory + fair price point 60292 City Center: - new buildable road plates increase the set's price enormously or take away the money for more parts for the car wash - set is hugely overpriced (imo a fair price would be 70, maximum 80 Euros) - inclusion of fire motorcycle and police bicycle makes me tired and is wasting capacity for more civilian stuff - truck is missing car doors - weird to have stone plates in front of the pizzeria when at the same time it is suggested that there's a pavement in the front of the building - car wash has no "car wash" sign and lettering on top - car wash is missing a brush from the top down (like TLG had done in all previous car washes) - car wash has only two brushes (instead of three) on each side, so regular sized vehicles won't be brushed completely + small car is ok + great minifigs + comeback of the baby + pizzeria building looks great + dojo as a never before seen idea inside City + baby's play structure + (apart from the missing car doors) very well designed truck 60304 Buildable Road Plates: - min. 5 Euros too expensive - no curves possible - missing pavement - not compatible with earlier road plates and baseplates - 7,5 studs bright is much to less for these day's City cars (mostly six studs wide plus two studs overhang for the side mirrors makes eight studs in total) and trucks (partly even wider) + glow in the dark street lamps 60305 Car Transporter: - 10 Euros too expensive - only one car included - truck is missing car doors - truck as well as car are looking very blocky and like a Juniors set + transporter can load two cars in one row (without trailer) 60306 Shopping Street: - new buildable road plates increase the set's price enormously or take away the money for more parts for the shops - bad price ratio performance (fair would have been 60 Euros) - it seems as if both shops have no roofs - both buildings are only one floor big => makes the city looking that small and unrealistic plus makes looking the vehicles overdimensional big - baker's shop is only three studs deep - container piece walls as side walls for the bike shop make looking it strange - the gymnastic elements in the minimalistic park look weird - race car would have looked much better with only four studs wide + glow in the dark street lamps + great minifigures + bicycle in new color (dark pink) + cargo bike is a cool new idea with a great outcome + light repair trucks looks awesome + light repair truck has car doors + great architectual style of the baker's shop + first time in the history of LEGO City that we're getting a baker's shop + nice small terrace in front of the baker's shop + both shops have some nice interior All in all I must say that I'm not only surprised but even impressed by how many - and mostly great - civlian sets we're getting already in the winter wave! So I hope that the summer wave will continue this trend! With this development I'm now much more optimistic that in summer and the years after 2021 we'll get locations like a school, a museum, a harbor, a beach, a farm etc. since they all are more or less part of civilian life which kids experience every day or at least in holidays. -
Although it's regrettably not much til now, thany you very much for the information so far! With the huge success of the Crocodile Locomotive and TLG having noticed that AFOLs and Trains fans are a strong consumer group, I bet that there'll be a new and exclusive Trains set in 2021! Although I'm that sort of hoping for an elevated train set (like a re-design of the Monorail), or at least would like to get a detailed old-style passenger train like the TEE, I "fear" that TLG is going to release only a single engine, again - if so, then this time for sure a steam locomotive. On the other hand these days TLG is sometimes "playing" with the set numbers: Some set sets released much earlier altgouh their numbers are higher. Plus there are some sets which were planned and then don't get released - so there are some numbers in between which are only numbers with no set behind. On the other hand I've got the impression that the number of exclusive sets has increased in the last years. Plus with TLG finally remarked that AFLOs are a strong consumer group, too, TLG for sure is planning to release more sets for them in order to get their money. So only time will tell ...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you all very much for the information! I completely agree with @BrickHat - this definately is an excellent series! I really like it that we're getting a huge variety of minifigs so that there's something for everyone (policeman and alien for Space, shipwrek survivor for Pirates, the warrior for history in general, the cenaur for Fantasy and all the other minifigs for City). Plus there are many amazing new parts (Finallay a violine!) and great new prints (Paradisa reference on the paddle surfer's toro). My favourite figures are the violonist, the plane suit girl, the paddle surfer, the singer and the beekeeper. -
Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you all very much for the information! The Bonsai is simply brilliant and the small table under it is a great addition; plus the price point seems to be very fair to me - for sure this one make it into my collection '(but firstly in the end of 2021)! The Flower Bouquet looks excellent, too. But here I'm clearly missing a vase to put the flowers in. Plus fifty Euros for only one flower bouquet without vase seems a bit overpriced to me. But all in all a great set. Tulips and Roses both look very nice, too. But - like in the Flower Bouquet set - I'm clearly missing a vase to put the flowers in, too. In contrast, both sets seem to have a good price ratio performance. PS: Let's see what the second half of 2021 or the first wave in 2022 will bring - I'd really like to get a brick-built cactus and a carnivore!- 137 replies

Thank you very much for the information, @TeriXeri! Although I personally have no use for these two (only for some elements in them, but so it's cheaper to get them seperately), I must say that these are like mostly great parts packs!

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Exactly! And I could well imagine that there'll be more of it next summer - it seems as if TLG is testing a comeback of the classic Town theme, but of course in today's style and with today's possibilities which make the sets even greater. -
Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the news! For sure the residence in 80106 is built nicely. But with the mainly grey colors and all that snow I've got the impression that it somehow doesn't go well with the other Chinese New Year sets. Plus for my taste Nian is much too big. I would have prefered no snow and Nian to be more in the scale of the lions in 80105 and therefore getting an interior for the residence (which is like the temple in 80105 regrettably again only a facade). But 80107 is completely stunning! There are so many great new building technics like the big plants and the bridge and many awesome and realistic details such as the printed tiles with fish and the printed lanterns. For sure this will go very well with the other sets and for sure this will make it into my collection, too! Plus I must admit that the new minifigure torso prints in both sets are again awesome! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the news! The Showgirl looks amazing - I really like the colors in the top and pants and even more the style of the new headgear! Btw: A Pineapple Suit Guy leaked in the usual place. Imo he looks boring and it's hard to detect that this shall be a pineapple. Either a cheese piece custome guy with this piece or a pineapple suit guy but with a custome of the complete pineapple would have been much more appealing. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yes, that's right. I only think that as a standalone bus (with bus station) it's very likely that it will always be "only" a regular bus within a city. As part of a bigger set, in contrast, we could even see a double decker bus or a travel bus which both I don't see in a small set. I can't agree more! Sone archeology Sets would be amazing - I originally hoped that there will be more stuff of IT in the ocean exploration theme. Plus I counted in an orca/whale beeing part of this theme (it was rumored already in spring 2018 that there'll bei an orca in an exclusive Polar exploration Set), too - the new stingray as well as the two new fish are great - nur they couldn't compete with an orca/whale. Maybe we'll get a container or yacht harbor this Summer - there an orca/whale could be included. No, it wouldn't fit in the landing sites of 60266. -
That's an excellenz ballon, RoxYourBlox! I'm really surprised that a Ballon can be built only with bricks and without any cloth. Plus the "colorfullness" is great, too.

Yes, I think a new bus with bus station for summer 2021 is very plausible - whehter again as a standalone set or integrated in a bigger set is only the question. But as much as I like your idea, I can't imagine TLG releasing two Great Vehicle waves a year. Official pics of the winter wave sets usually show up at the end of this month. But due to Corona, this year it could be even later. Of course I'd like to get a list and even better prelim pics of the summer wave sets already now, too. But if I remember correctly, the earliest time when we got a list of summer sets was before Christmas and then leaked pics at Christmas - but keep in mind that this was many years ago when Lego was much less strictly. So today I wouldn't count on any list before January and no pics (prelims as well as officials) before February, due to Corona maybe even firstly in May. -
Hello everybody! Putting the information on stonewars as well as on a new instagram post together, there will be again two new Chinese New Year sets in 2021: 80106: Story of "Nian" - 79,99 Euro 80107: New Year Lantern Festival - 119,99 Euro Since I liked the house, the dragon boat race, the temple fair and the lion dance very much, I'm really lookign forward to them and I hope that (official) pics of these two sets will show up soon! And what about you?

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Respective the big police helicopter: It seems to be a helicopter with coaxial rotors which I really like since so it's a completely new type of helicopter we haven't seen before: Concerning themes and sets for summer 2021: Since TLG is going to release three civilian sets with buildings already in the beginning of 2021 and since there'll be no new special police theme and no new police station, this is something completely new. Consequently I'd say it's nearly impossible to guess what TLG will release in summer. Nevertheless here are my guesses: one exploration theme with only four sets (like 2020) no whole Coast Guard theme (tip: if there would be, then there wouldn't be the CG jetski in the Great Vehicles theme), but possibly some CG stuff inside some more civilian set(s) (e. g. a beach with small CG station and medium sized CG boat) more civilian sets - esp. minimum one shop (a skateboard / bike shop would tie in perfectly with the skatepark) if we were extremely lucky, then maybe an elevated train (as an Exclusive) What do you think?
