  1. I think the last pirate theme was indeed pretty weak. The buildings were extremely simplified and possibly meant as entry-level theme for younger kids. At least thats the only explanation apart from not bothering to design something proper And yeah, the Minifigs were the only highlight of it really. I got a couple of the shipwreck defense-set on sale, the rest wasn't even much represented on the shelves where I was looking... Really a pity, since I do think pirates, if properly done still have some potential. At least we got some Ninjago Air pirates last year. Maybe it has to get more into that direction to be successful...
  2. Exploding sheep! They of course have to be in it Lovely little model of a classic, which brings back quite some memories from the 90s!
  3. This looks like a fun little adventure! Is the big firefighter-truck selfmade? It looks pretty cool
  4. Wow! This is amazing! I love the way how you contrast both sides together. Very vivid, very strong.
  5. What a cool way to combine your favourite hobby with some family history Your build looks simply wonderful, with so many nice little things to let the eye wander. Amazing work
  6. The interiors are absolutely amazing! And details like the chandeliers really add to the ambience. Very lush and lovely arranged. The minifigs look amazing too.
  7. Lovely plant-building choice of colour inside and great use of the space. So much to see there! It really gives a proper tropical feel. The outside is very nice too: the facade manages to stay interesting and the idea with the tree made of plate-pieces is so cool. Maybe though you give the trunk some variation with different brown tones and maybe oranges and greens too. The build is a real looker and does so well in your city layout. Brilliant
  8. Skyrim would be also a quite fun license. Realistic chances: not really though
  9. I think she is day and night in the kitchen, making tea just to have it get cold, since they had to leave for an important case
  10. This looks pretty awesome! You get a nice victorian vibe from the build - just as it should be
  11. Great looking spaceship! Thats really pushing the boundaries for Minifig-sized ships! I am not sure either. Some bits look out of focus which hints to being shot rl, though the light reflections on some of the red hull pieces look unusual. Maybe its just matte paint though.
  12. Thank you zux, I hadn't thought of that solution! Stahlklaue is properly pronounced, but google says Eisenpforte, which means Iron Gate instead of Eisenpfote, so just try to ignore the r and the name works
  13. Hello! Well, that must be a quite fierce cat. I hope not though. Being a native speaker I glady help you: Iron Paw: Eisenpfote Steel Claw: Stahlklaue Have more ideas? I gladly translate them too!
  14. Hey, this is pretty damn funny! :laugh:The ships look nice and proper too and it would be cool to see them on the shelves one day. I certainly would get them
  15. Personally I quite like a more chaotic style. The buildings remind me on castles and rural villages and town-centers, which have simply grown in their current shape over centuries. So as for newly built houses, I can see why someone dislikes such a style. Especially being used to more grid-like city layouts. But I think making it a rule to reject this style is a bit too far reaching. One could argue its bland look vs. Interesting Different tastes and all that
  16. Have you considered yet lending some models to local transportation museums? They could be a real attraction for kids (but not only! ).
  17. They look pretty cool and cute. Also a lovely document of transportation history!
  18. Very good looking model! Reminds me to mod my own prototype
  19. Clearly a step towards TOS-era! Very good interpretation
  20. Ars technica has published a quite profound article on the choice of the time-frame of the new series.
  21. This is so wonderfully silly and fun! Your background story is a great laugh and the minifig loading the gun with this malicious twinkle in the eye fits perfect!
  22. I have seen this one on a couple of sites before and they did right to feature it: It looks very cool and captures a very memorable scene and the cold, factual mood of the set perfectly!
  23. A lovely nod to classic castle
  24. Your builds are super detailled and supercute! They also look rather solid and not like dozens of pieces fall off when you move them. That makes them extra appealing to me Edit: almost forgot a little criticism though. If thats corn in the top picture, then its a bit anachronistic, since it originates in America, not Europe and wasn't around during the european middle ages.
  25. I think its actually a bluehouse But lovely indeed!
