Nyx rounds on Watters, the smile she had for Guffington fading fast, and instead a menacing grimace replacing it. "You are a server, correct? You don't have any reason to be here other than that, is that right? I would like to know what you would say if I told you that the chef is a poisoner. And I should also like to know why somebody seems to have gone to great lengths to ensure your death. I suggest that you answer me truthfully and directly, or fear the consequences of my wrath."

Nyx looks around the great hall, noting Guts' shenanigans and feeling slightly relieved she wasn't the only one with anger management issues. She tries to stifle a grin. She spots Watters and approaches with determination and confidence. "Watters, yes?" she states simply and imperiously "I need you, come with me." she maintains a deliberately haughty aspect to indicate she does not expect to be argued with. "Now! Hurry up!" and she (hopefully) leads Watters out to the quiet of the courtyard.

Nyx smiles widely at Guffington. "Sir, it's wonderful to be here. I'll happily liven up your party for you! " Nyx grins and nods her head respectfully, before striking out for the main party room, this time in search of Watters. "Oh, if anyone has a few spare... drinks, then please feel free to throw them at me!" she calls as she walks, blushing deeply at her abrupt request. Meanwhile, she drinks a Mead, just to get things started.

I've added you, hench. Welcome to the Academy. Your camera is certainly good enough. Tutorials are there for reading only, and the process is that you create a review and receive feedback on it, editing it to improve it. The process can be seen more easily inside the RA, and it isn't compulsory to participate. The posting of reviews for teaching is purely at your own pace - you can do this as quickly or slowly as you wish. As we often say, there are no deadlines within the Academy. Anybody is free to post set reviews on Eurobricks. If you post reviews outside the Academy whilst you are a student, then they won't count towards your achievements (because you won't have had them assessed by a teacher). The aim of the Academy is to raise the standards of the reviews posted on EB to as high a level as possible, but you don't need to be a student or teacher to post your reviews here. If you'd still like to join then just post here and one of us will add you.

OoC: I have returned, thanks for keeping Nyx alive JimB. "Goddamnit, again? And explosions? If it's not magic, and it couldn't have been Chauncey because he ended up on his big behind, then it's a bomb. Which makes me think of Shawe and Ladybug, but Shawe was busy talking and so his companion would have seen him throw the bomb if he had. And the Marshes wouldn't have needed to throw a knife, because if they were with Guts then they would have been next to Guffy, so they could have just stabbed him instead. It's that damn Ladybug. And that blue waiter is involved, possibly because he's blue; is that too obvious?" Nyx gabbles quickly knowing there isn't much time. "It isn't Elba, it isn't the Marshes, it isn't Avery or the Cook, it isn't Shawe or Chauncey, and it's not Thomas. It shouldn't be U'or, Daneeka or Felix, so that leaves Ladybug and Watters, and a bomb and a knife takes two people, or am I missing someone?"

OoC: My Doomshroom didn't last time. :( Nyx watches slightly open mouthed as Docken proceeds to devour nearly everything in front of him. She stuffs the offered Doomshroom in her mouth quickly before he changes his mind. She looks up at Hybros. "You know, Watters was as unconcerned about the cook's death last jump as Avery was. I wonder what would happen if we brought him in here for "questioning"? Let him see the dead chef, the dead assassin, the piece of paper with his name on it, that sort of thing. And if he still doesn't talk we can beat some information out of him. I'm starting to think that the Marshes are just a red herring - they've been framed, what with that note and everything, and Avery was hired to kill the primary killer and frame Lord Marsh by his death, cos dead people can't defend themselves." She looks thoughtful for a moment, the anger evidently dissipating as quickly as it rose. "Doesn't explain Lady Marsh, nor Watters' role in all this, which is why I think some more intensive questioning may be in order. We can catch up with Guts on the way." Nyx shrugs, by way of punctuation. OoC Again: I'm away this weekend, but I should be able to check in at least each day. If not, JimB has control of Nyx.

Nyx looks around, realising she, unexpectedly, isn't dead again. She wanders over to Avery's corpse, eyeing the Nostrums and parchments. She nudges the body with her foot, to see if a few forgotten gold bars or jewelled necklaces fall out. She stares at Avery's body for a while, before exploding into a rant. "That's it?!? That's what I died a hundred times for?!? Are you kidding me?!?" she growls in exasperation, stalking round the kitchen, clearly agitated, ranting to herself. "Bloody no good assassins, they're all the same. Bloody trouble." she glances at Hybros "Present company excepted, of course." her ranting continues "But that damn woman!" she emits a half growl/ half sigh. "I daren't even touch the damn paper because it'll probably just disintegrate in my hands or something. Hybros, you're probably the best person to read who her contracts are for, and I'll bet that if Guffington isn't one of them, then she's probably some ridiculous back up plan or something. It'll be that U'Or who hired her to protect him or some such ridiculousness. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Nyx slumps on the floor, clearly disgruntled.

Thanks guys. Having Heroica launched on my birthday was kinda cool. And Nyx's birthday is still.... undecided.

OoC: Thanks guys! Nyx looks around slightly woozily. "Am I your personal punching bag or something?" with that she charges up another darkness spell from the back row at Avery.

OoC: Patchy participation today (it's my birthday ) but I trust Docken and Hybros to make common sense decisions for Nyx if I'm not around. "Thanks Hybros, my favourite." Nyx grins as she knocks back the mead. She then steps back and once more charges a darkness spell at Avery.

OoC: Ditto Nyx starts to smile a little, and seeing Docken's Aura again, she decides to step forward, once more charging a darkness spell at Avery.

Nyx stands, almost as if drawn up by pieces of string, her eyes focused somewhere beyond the room. They snap into focus sharply on Avery. "Keep going assassin. I can take it. We learn more and more about you each time." Once more, hoping that for once the spell will land, Nyx charges a darkness spell at Avery from the back row.

Quite a lot has happened behind the scenes too, so that might explain why you feel you're missing something. Avery was quite cooperative with Nyx last jump, but you haven't seen that happen.

Nyx shakes her head sadly, muttering "Agaain??" to herself as she dusts herself down. She hears Hybros's direction, and simply nods, once more charging up a darkness spell at Avery from the back row.

Nyx glances at Docken, who seems to be drawing all of Avery's attacks right now. She takes the opportunity to step forward and once more cast Darkness on Avery, making sure to maintain her focus.

OoC: sorry for the wait; looooong day at work. Additionally, I'm sorry to say I should have done 123 damage, not 126, as Everstien made Nyx take her shoes off. :( "Uhm, yeah, sorry, this is a bad habit I'm getting into, but dying isn't really so bad, and it only hurts for a second." She shrugs "You should try it sometime. Preferably in the next 5 minutes or so, 'cos we've got stuff to do." Thanks to the Mulled Wine, Nyx steps forward, and once more charges up her Amethyst at Avery. Should she merely take damage on the first turn (rather than just die, again) she thinks to step back for her second turn, but will otherwise follow up a successful attack with the same again from the front row.

Nyx lies still for a moment or two, testing the borders between the kitchen at Guffington Manor and ... wherever else she was... had been... is? She feels the all-too familiar feeling of the Phoenix Essence within her, it's warm smokiness almost comforting, and then somehow she's climbing to her feet again, Hybros kindly supporting her and offering her a drink. Without a thought she knocks it back; it's a drink, after all. She looks around as if the room is out of focus, two fingers reaching up to her neck, almost touching it, and she spins and fixes full focus on Avery, snarling ever so slightly. "I've had hangovers worse than that. Let's see how you like it when I hit you." she almost spits the words out as she once more charges a whorl of dark, painful magic from the back row through her Standard, her pride injured more than anything. OoC: Avery is also Lucky, Scuba, so they cancelled each other out.

So many I've lost count. All part and parcel of being a glass canon, I guess, but it might also contribute to her becoming a Necromancer (to put it in Brickdoctor terms "if you strike me down now I will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine" EDIT: although, technically, the first bit would be "if you strike me down a bazillion times" ). Anyway, how could you possibly be running out of ways? I'm sure you'll still manage to "kill" Nyx many more times yet, so think of her as your "mode of death" muse. Would now be a really bad time to ask what happens with my new Shield skill (do I heal all allies??) when I'm hitting an ally with the Healing Staff?

"Uhm, yeah, Heroica has a library. But it also has a bar, and I spend all of my time there." Nyx shrugs muttering "How am I supposed to know about bloody assassins?" to herself. She looks at Avery, regarding her. "This is a shame, really, I quite like you and I reckon we would have gotten along really well, but I think it's pretty clear that you're going to die one way or another, so could you just tell us who hired you? And if you had any other marks? It's really help us out, and I can try to kill you in a nice way, instead of you nosebleeding to death." Nyx grabs hold of Zee's Standard in one hand and her Amethyst in the other, focusing on Avery from the back row as she begins the chants to cast her spell. She repeats her attack if all party members are unscathed, otherwise hitting the party member with the lowest health with her Healing Staff, again from the back row.
