Nyx ambles into the kitchen, Lord Marsh on her arm. "Ah! It seems we've found your good lady wife here, Lord Marsh! Now, could you please find out all you can from her? Thank you." Nyx turns to Docken and Hybros, casting her eyes over Avery too. "See, I told you she was a wrong'un. And now she's here making a bit of a mess of killing things." Nyx's eyes pass over the lifeless corpse of Clippard, but she turns back to the waitress "Avery? That is apparently your name, and a very nice name too. So you're an assassin? Do you want to tell us who hired you? I know you're probably very strong, but.. we're pretty damn strong too. You could just tell us, and then we can protect your dignity by killing you anyway? That's be ok, wouldn't it?" Nyx shrugs innocently, smiling sweetly. OoC: No battle actions from me.

Pfft, Nerwen will see Boomingham right, don't worry.
-
That's hugely disappointing. New medium lavender bricks would have been wonderful, but I'm far less interested in dark pink. Such a shame, it looked so promising.

All that liquid will have to go somewhere, and if Drake's "passed out" I hope he doesn't disgrace himself. And if he doesn't, he'll spend all day in the outhouse when he wakes up.

I don't mind the Minidolls too much, and I personally believe that if their presence was what was necessary for TLG to make sets for girls, then so be it. Whether TLG should be making sets specifically for girls is a can of worms I'm not looking to open here. That said, the Friends sets are gorgeous sets, and are mostly Minifig compatible; the only difficulty for Minifigs might be things like vehicles or horses, as the parts to fit the Minidolls in are specifically Minidoll sized (for the legs and feet). So aside from those areas (and surely they can be adapted, although I've never personally tried) standard Minifigs can happily occupy Friends buildings, use their accessories and even (as has been demonstrated many a time) wear their hair. Paradisa sets did include Minifigs, and they were really nice sets too, but I would venture to suggest that they had much more of a "girly" theme. There was a lot of cool building in those sets, especially in the alternative builds, but there was often a woman pushing a pram, and there was still a lot of pink, except it was less "in your face" because it was pastel. I've often said in my Friends reviews that it really wouldn't take too much to de-pinkify the sets. Do that and move in some Minifigs and then the sets just become highly detailed great Town builds.

"He gives everyone the creeps." Nyx mutters "You haven't seen him do anything unusual, have you? Like disappearing out of the hall?" "That is a good point, Watters. I hope he's not got lost or something. Maybe I should check to see if he's ok?" Nyx waits for Thomas's reply before heading off in search of Lord Marsh. OoC: If there's time.

In the grand hall of the great Guffington, a small piece of paper plops out of the air and lands in Nyx's glass of fine Charissian wine. With her forefinger and thumb she removes the now soggy script and examines it, before heating it in her hand to dry it out, and scorching the letters "Nyx" into it as she does so. She tosses it lightly into the air, muttering the necessary words to send it back to the lottery, with which it disappears in a puff of smoke.
-
Nyx sniffs the glass in appreciation and takes a large sip. "Mmm, very nice, thank you" she smiles, nodding to both Thomas and Watters and shaking Watter's offered hand. "Thomas, do please continue what you were saying, I've been making polite conversation all evening and really I'd just like some juicy gossip. Same with you Watters; what do you mean 'the chef can't handle himself'? I'm sure someone said he was famous or something. And why on earth would Lady Marsh be making trouble? I thought she was a bit .. insipid really, when I met her. Is she known to be a trouble maker? Really? Go on, tell me; it'll be the best conversation I've had all night. Oh, and I'm Nyx, by the way."

Hell yes, I'm going on that quest.
-
I fear we are once more heading into off topic territory.... Let's keep it about LEGO, please.
-
Firstly Zepher, I'm so, so sorry. I hope you know it's not like me to just go AWOL on a quest, especially for so long, but I'm sure you've also seen I've been away from EB as a whole the entire time too. I'm really sorry if I've complicated things, and thank you for not kicking me off the quest, but I expect to be fully participating from here on. Once again, I'm incredibly sorry. Nyx looks into Everstien's rheumy eyes, appraising them. "Are you sure you're feeling well, cos you really don't look well, and you keep coughing in a really nasty way?" She looks around the room as she thinks about what he'd said. "Well, I originally wanted to talk to that waitress for a whole bunch of reasons, but she never appeared out of the kitchen. And the fact that Docken and Hybros have been so long in there still worries me. And the Marshes; each of them said the other wanted Lady Marsh to come, but in that last time-shift, when we fought .. everyone.. Lady Marsh was weak as a kitten. Hardly your "evil mastermind" type. Samuel Shawe and Lord Hinckwell didn't seem to have any sort of motive for wanting Guffy dead. Mme Ladybug was nails, though. She'd make a good secondary attack, and I bet she'd have loads of ways of making it happen, what with all that sciencey stuff they do at the Invision guild. But she'd be a pretty high-profile secondary attack, though. That blue server is the only one who I don't know anything about. I think it's between him, Lord Marsh and Ladybug. I didn't get much out of Ladybug, so I'll go talk to the blue waiter - assuming you won't fall over if you let go of me." Nyx looks again at Everstien with a mixture of concern and suspicion. She gently peels his claws from her arm and wanders off to find the blue server. "Oh hello, do you have any wine? I seem to have run out." Nyx offers her empty glass bashfully, evidently hoping it will be refilled "I don't want to be a bother, I'm sure the other guests have been demanding. So Guffington seems a bit of a recluse, first time I've met him really, and I expect first time you've met him too. What do you think of him? Mad as a box of frogs or just quaintly eccentric?"

I can live happily with that if there's more Ziegfried Rep, plus your quests intrigue me.
-
"I didn't actually say she told me, silly." Nyx mutters at Marsh's retreating back. She fixes Everstien with a hard look as he speaks to her. "'we must ensure that the secondary plan goes through'?? That's all you have to say? It sounds like all hell is breaking loose in the kitchen, and it took Baldy no time at all to finish off the chef last time, but Docken and Hybros are both in there and neither one has come out yet, and the servers are out here, well, all but one, so what the hell is going on in there and what's taking them so damn long???" Nyx sighs, clearly frustrated. "I have no idea where this 'secondary plan' will come from as nobody here is giving any sign of wanting Guffy particularly dead, in fact they all seem like they'd be a whole lot happier if he were left alive, quite frankly." Nyx looks at Everstien, not really expecting a response, and sighs once more before going off to find Guffington to talk to.

I definitely would.

"Lady Marsh? Well now that's curious...." Nyx adopts an innocently thoughtful expression "Are you sure she wanted to come? I must be confused, because I'm sure I heard her say to someone earlier that she only came because you wanted her to? Does Lady Marsh have any business dealings herself? Here in Eubric perhaps? Or connections here at all?" Nyx smiles sweetly and innocently, as if just curious and making conversation, all the while wondering what the hell had happened to the others to leave her alone talking to all the guests.

A brief note for those who may be confused: I have merged "New DC Movies Beginning in 2015" with this thread, which used to be "Man of Steel" to make this new "DC Comics Cinematic Universe" for all discussion pertaining to the movies being made in the DC comics universe.

It is derailed. Please everybody, focus on LEGO Friends. Furthermore, any continued argumentativeness will be dealt with severely, so watch your tone when you reply to other members. If you can't make a point politely and respectfully then don't make it at all. Thank you.

Nyx stares at Shawe before catching herself and forcing a smile. "I shall see what I can do, of course, excuse me." she smiles more as she bows her head and turns away. "Well, he plans to work with Guffy in the future, so he's probably not trying to kill him. Strangely direct chap, but at least he got to the point." she thinks to herself and eyes the room once more. "Yet more talking, can't I just hit someone until they tell me what I want to know?" her internal monologue continues, clearly tapping into her Barbaric side. She finishes both of the drinks she's holding, disposes of the glasses and grabs herself another one before approaching Lord Marsh. "Lord Marsh!" the beaming smile is back as her Mage side takes more control "How wonderful to meet you! I've heard so much about you, you've come from Gull, correct? So far away! It must have taken you extra special effort to be here for this party, so what was it that tempted you here?" the smile continues, but Nyx watches Marsh's reaction closely.

OoC I blame the crazy author, but I stand by my earlier opinion that they were crazy and interesting. Seriously, who wrote that convoluted story? Nyx politely nods back at Chauncey. Her eyes scan the room, once more watching the interactions between the guests. She begins to walk around the room, nodding and smiling, before casually approaching Samuel Shawe. She waits for a polite time to introduce herself, and positioning herself so she can see the door to the kitchen and anyone approaching it. "Hello, I am Nyx, isn't this a lovely party? Are you a good friend of Master Guffington's?"

BOTH of you please be polite and respectful. Slinging insults around is no way for adults to behave, and I post here as a Moderator, not because of any opinion I hold. I want to keep this topic open because I believe that there is some interesting discussion here pertaining to gender and LEGO, but if it dissolves into insults then I will have to close it. Please remember that not all members here have English as their first language, so "vices" in this context may not necessarily reflect what the author intends, although I admit I cannot speak for him. I appreciate the sentiment, but please leave the moderating to the Mods, thank you. If you feel angry, then don't post. Go for a walk or something, and remember that this is the internet. Post your thoughts when you've cooled off and please try to stay polite and respectful. Thank you.

Nyx looks long and hard at Lord Chauncey. "They're more than a bit crazy, but they are interesting, I'll give you that. They have a nasty habit of all talking at once, and inside your brain, too. I don't doubt you're very powerful, but I'd be careful around them, because yes, they are extremely powerful." Her expression softens, although still serious and slightly sad. "Lord Chauncey, you are a clever man, I really hope you understand that anything I do here is to protect Master Guffington. I have no other motive, so if you indeed wish to protect your business partner and your business interests, I ask that you trust my actions. Can you do that?" She holds his gaze as she waits for an answer.

I keep a very close eye on this topic, and I appreciate you own censure in realising you're posting while angry. I don't believe anyone is currently offended, or has said anything particularly offensive, but any member may highlight anything they are concerned about by using the "report" button, or may bring it to my attention via the Personal Messenger system. In the meantime, I believe there is sensible and mature discussion here, and that's exactly what this site is for.

Nyx sighs back at Lord Chauncey, pinching the bridge of her nose before smiling back. "So you're basically saying it could still be anyone." she keeps eyeing him carefully, but also keeps smiling "And, out of interest, what would happen to your 'research project' if you suddenly lost your remaining business partner?" she looks thoughtful for a moment "Do you mind me asking what you're researching? I have a smattering of experience with Old Gods myself, perhaps I can help you in some way?" Hybros keeps looking around the room, casually skulking towards the kitchen door. As he arrives he imperceptibly slides the external bolt shut, locking the door, and standing guard until he hears Docken call to him through the door, yet disguising this as casual interest in the goings-on at the party.
