  1. OoC: I... guess that's me right now; have fun JimB Nyx examines Chauncey's face for any hint of deceit. Her eyes narrow slightly as she inspects him. "Lord Chauncey, if I am to believe what you say, it might be best for you to tell me what this business venture is, who your third partner was, how they died, and who might wish this venture of yours to fail. I am sure you can read the implications of what I'm saying, so if you have information I should very much like to hear it, especially as my, and now apparently your, fears may well come to fruition very soon. If you deceive me, however, you will not live to regret it." Hybros looks again around the room for unusual activity, examining body language for anything out of the ordinary. He moves over near to where Samuel Shawe and Lord Marsh are and, being almost imperceptible, he casually attempts to eavesdrop their conversation, whilst continuing to scan the room.
  2. "I think if you knew me at all, you would know that I'm not so easily intimidated." Nyx smiles devilishly and sips her original drink "I guess I should be flattered to be the subject of gossip, and it's always nice to hear that someone's pleased to see you." A pause. She licks her lips and poses a thoughtful look "So tell me, do you have any juicy gossip to share? I heard a rumour that our dear host Guffington isn't as well loved as everyone makes out, have you heard anything like that?"
  3. I really wasn't expecting this to ever happen. I heard what JimB and Jebs have both said, and yes the attacks here will be weaker, but I think the Shield skill here is a logical progression from the two base classes that are combined. For targeting a single enemy and doing a decent amount of damage, there's still the BM's Extra Critical Hit, and there may well be times when I curse the AoE attacks, but that's ok, because it still seems logical to me. As to the other changes, I think they're fair and reflect the philosophies behind the different combinations of base classes well. I agree with Quarry and JimB about their concerns about QMs managing the Sorcerer's Shield, and with Quarry's suggestion to let the Sorcerer choose an element. It would fit with Battle Mages choosing a single element and using it with their Shield skill, too.
  4. OoC Sorry for the de;ay in posting - busier than expected weekend. Nyx looks carefully around the room once more, watching for interactions, conversations. She calmly meanders her way across the room towards Lord Chauncey, nodding and smiling to people as she moves, picking up a drink and sipping it, before casually arriving at Chauncey's side. "I think I saw you in the courtyard. You know a girl can't resist when she sees a mysterious stranger looking at her." she almost breathes into his ear. She takes another sip of her drink, holding his gaze with her eyes as she does so. She smiles, warmly. "I am Nyx. But you look like the kind of man who already knows that." and a mischievous look appears on her face.
  5. Nyx holds her head in her hands, as if trying to stop if from falling off. She closes her eyes and frowns, either trying not to vomit, or trying to clear her head. Possibly both. She focuses, sort of, on her companions while Guffington still talks. "Ok, the Marsh people are weird, the woman was seen in the kitchen and gave me some rubbish about wanting to talk to the chef - the chef that we know was the poisoner. And there's still the note. When I went to the kitchen, the fawn was weird, and died of acute stupidity, but the other two servers were cool about the chef being smeared up the walls and didn't challenge me - but someone let them out of the kitchen, didn't they? Why did that someone do that, and who were they? I don't trust Chauncey at all, although there's something intriguing about him. Is there anyone particular you want me to talk to? And I think my head is full of scrambled egg, but am I hastened and encouraged and lucky or not right now? " Yet again, Nyx waits to introduce herself to Guffington as if for the first time.
  6. I don't think I've ever said what's in them, but they are definitely pink, quite sweet, and highly alcoholic (and thus extremely flammable). They're also served with at least with a cherry on top, hopefully with a small decorative umbrella, and (magically, as it would otherwise melt with the flames) best drunk through a crazy straw.
  7. The last time we went, we took a direct flight from London City Airport to Billund, and it was great (we could probably make the trip from our house straight to Legoland Billund in about 3 hours if we timed it perfectly). London City Airport is still quite small, but very efficient (and my favourite airport in the London area). It's easy to get to from central London as it's in the Docklands area of East London itself, rather than a bit out of the way like Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or Stansted. I'd recommend looking at flights from there (although they might be a bit pricey), or indeed flying from Edinburgh which is indeed a glorious city too, as Alistair Ryan has suggested.
  8. Yaaaaaay! It will be awesome to see you again! Ru and I will be there, no matter what. We just need to convince the rest of the world (or maybe just work) of that.
  9. This is an interesting and polite discussion, which I welcome. We are straying into the territory of discussing Iain M Banks books (with which I am extremely well acquainted - I have read all of them (and the non-Sci-Fi ones) and he is by far my favourite author) rather than LEGO Friends, though. So let's not debate what may or may not be possible in fiction.
  10. OoC again, sorry, you forgot my 3SP last round Nyx surveys the battle as she tends to her leg - the wound would heal soon enough thanks to her barbaric side. It felt... wrong somehow that the Hinckwell had died, but there wasn't much she could do about it aside from do her job. She keeps on the lookout for any strange movements from the remaining partygoers and keeps an eye on the servers that had emerged from the kitchen. "I need to fight front row to finish off the Light Minion as we don't have much time; fortunately for me Guts has made me lucky, but I will be vulnerable. I really would like to not have to take free hits from anything too strong. Like that U'Kin woman." Nyx scowls at Madame Ladybug, not that the U'Kin was looking "So, uhm, could we arrange it so I'm less likely to die this round? Uhm, please?" Nyx manages to get herself upright despite the stinging in her leg, and grips her book tightly as she moves forward to hit the Light Minion once more.
  11. OoC: Did you roll for Edgar, Zeph? Having another ally might affect what we're doing. (And thus I'm sorry this is OoC only )
  12. OoC: Dammit, dammit, dammit. I kept my book without elements exactly for this purpose. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Nyx is annoyed. She wants to set fire to as many things as possible, and Guts' smirking wasn't helping, but perhaps his little talk with the U'Kin would help. She throws her cold staff to one side, and pulls out her trusty Book, intending to target the Light Minion once more from the front row, accepting that there may be a free hit coming her way. She almost growls at her companions: "The minions have to go; their levels are too high, and they are the ones stopping us from getting through the door."
  13. "Of course Hybros, I can happily belt him from the front row with impunity since he's handily blind now." Nyx grins in a slightly menacing way as she steps forward, gripping her icy cold Standard through her thin leather gloves, preparing to wallop the Light Minion very hard on what she presumes is its head. "Hey, Barty, are you sure Hinckwell will go for you? I thought he'd hit Samuel Shawe if he got the opportunity; is this part of this aura thingy you've got going on?"
  14. LT, we did that already! It was part of Summer of Friends last year! To see all the entries, click here and scroll down to Categories 3A and 3B (we even had two size categories!)
  15. I think that's called 'compromise', and compromise is often the solution.
  16. And agaaain! Bob De Quatre, you're on a serious roll here! I just love the use of the surfboard and tennis rackets, and the lime green version of the ladybug as a hood ornament, but overall this is really Sci-Fi with a Friends twist. I'm not a huge fan of lime green (some may be surprised) but with the small amounts used here as an accent, it works really well. The front looks like a traditional car, but the rest is clearly a hovercraft, and the details on the underside are just great. I love how the dishes are angled out, especially the back piece. It really suits Stephanie, too, given she's the car-loving one! Another great job! EDIT: Enjoy your new tag
  17. Asking for a title almost certainly ensures you won't get one. Obviously, you can only have one title at a time, and as each title is recognised people tend to record them in the archives, the link to which is in Rick's post, immediately above your post.
  18. "Yup, I'll change targets then. Kinda prefer the whole magicky thing, really, anyhow." Nyx grins at Docken and grips her cold Standard, beginning the chant to bring forth Darkness magic on Madame Ladybug from the back row. "Sorry" she shrugs and mutters so quietly that absolutely no-one can hear "I kinda liked you, but hopefully you won't remember this anyhow." OoC: That would make sense, wouldn't it?
  19. Oooh! Another one! And this is very nice too. I like that it's a mechanical representation of something organic, and that fits so well with Mia's animal-loving nature. I know it's a spaceship, but it looks so aquatic, especially with the cool blue and aqua highlights, and of course the organic shape, and that makes it very cool. This is such a lovely little ship, and I really like what you've done with the small interior too. Keep 'em coming!
  20. Indeed, there have been plenty of times when a non-Rogue player has been the one best placed to use a Remedy or a Phoenix Essence, and has used it. I (and other non-Rogues) currently carry some consumables that I won't be able to use on myself, but they're there for when they're needed, to help the party. The argued altruism isn't restricted to Rogues either. I'm not aware that the Fields were created exclusively for the aim of gold farming for Rogues. Why is it that non-Rogues go to the fields? They aren't there to farm gold (obviously) but there's clearly an attraction for them. I was under the impression (as Brickdoctor said) that the Fields exist for those who wish to focus more on battles over roleplay, and for them to gain experience. The idea that a nerf will render the Fields unusable for Rogues seems very silly to me. Absolutely. The income that Rogues make is not entirely spent on purchasing consumables for their future party. They are purchased after weapon upgrades and immunity upgrades and artefact purchases. Let me state plainly that I am not against min-maxing, I'm trying to do that as much as I can for my own character (and I believe we all are) and of course Rogues should be rewarded for the class they've chosen, as we all should. To imply that a Rogue's income is almost entirely devoted to buffing the rest of the team is plainly wrong, in my opinion, and I repeat my earlier point that the very large rewards that Rogues are gaining for their choice of class are verging on negating many of the other rewards for the other classes.
  21. Nyx listens to the to and fro between Hybros and Docken, still not entirely understanding why everybody has decided to try to fight everyone else, but there was a job to be done, so she just shrugs. "Ah, oh yeah, sorry. For some reason I was confusing them with some Ancients I encountered recently. With that in mind, would you like me to attack Madame Ladybug instead? Docken can't blind her, she's immune, but I can at least do some elemental damage and still stay in the back row." Nyx's fire spell fizzles in her hand and she waits for further confirmation from her teammates.
  22. Nyx can't help but let her jaw drop as she walks out of the relative calm of the kitchen. "What the blazes is going on?? Why is everyone fighting???" Nyx moves to stand as near Hybros and Docken as she can, and casts her eyes over the party-goers, assessing the threats. She closes her eyes and sighs as she realises there's no option but to fight right now. She grimaces at her colleagues. "I've never been a fan of minions, unless they're mine. I'll make a start on the Dark Minion, shall I? It seems we only need to get rid of the minions..." Nyx shrugs and prepares her old favourite, a Fire spell, through her standard, from the back row.
  23. This is very funny, and I'm really enjoying your Minion MOCs - more please! I'm also jealous that you seem to have at least three of these:
