Nyx does not take kindly to being pushed around, but the events happen so quickly she barely has chance to react. She meets Hybros' gaze as he tries to reassure her, and smiles falteringly back, as if unconvinced. The annoyance is rising, and with it, her temper. "I assume you are Doctor Daneeka; Doctor Everstien and I have already met, and I heard you discussing the ceiling with Docken. I really hope there will be some sort of explanation forthcoming? Is Guts right? Is this indeed "not real" and Guffington isn't actually dead after all? And can you both also explain why both of you have been calling out the time? I thought it was some sort of affliction of Everstein's here, but I heard you do it too." Nyx takes the necklace and regards it for a while. Not too horrible, and at least it was jewelry. She slips off her High Heels, dropping a few inches in height, and ties the Necklace around her neck wondering why it was so necessary. "And this?" she points to her new necklace "What is this for?"

What little colour there was in Nyx's cheeks drains away as she hears the name. A wave of nausea washes over her, and she blinks, maintaining her composure. "When did you see them and where were they going?" she blurts out impulsively "If you don't mind me asking, of course. And.. how is it you come to know these two?" more control, she feels steadier "and naturally... I should like to know what they said about me. " she manages to make a cheeky wink and smile, almost convincingly. The fact that the serving girl had passed her by was something she saw, but it didn't even register in her consciousness.

Nyx feels a small shiver as the memories come back. "Sorry, I was meaning to ask what had sparked your interest in your hobby, nothing more. Who is this mutual acquaintance that you speak of? They seem to have told you a lot about me, which is a little disconcerting, I must say." she looks at Lord Chauncey carefully "Passion... he became Chaos, sort of. He was kind of drained by a man named Sphinx, and became a shell for Chaos to inhabit. It was all very messy, and.. well he ended up dead, unfortunately. Or at least his body was, who knows about the rest of him?"

Nyx turns back to Lord Chauncey after listening to Guffinton's announcement and looking forward to sampling the spiced wine. "Yeah, I've developed a bit of a knack for visiting temples. I'd like to see the Moon Elves' city sometime, too, but it's not like I visit these places purely for sightseeing, more's the pity. What makes you so interested in the Temple of the Old Gods? Have you ever visited it yourself?"

Nyx laughs lightly, and smiles warmly. "Should I be concerned that I am known to you already?" she keeps smiling, wondering what the man knew, but hiding her thoughts "I'm intrigued to hear of our similar interests, but you must forgive me, I don't know how you know Master Guffington, and what interests you have in Eubric?" she blushes and smiles apologetically. As the light dims, Nyx looks once more around the room for unusual movements and/or suspicious behaviour.

Nyx nods solemnly as the hug ends. "Madame, I was doing what was asked of me, and was honoured to do so. It was such a shame that such a wondrous evening should be ruined by such ruffians. I counsel you to beware of that songstress. She is an evil witch who bears ill will to the whole of Eubric. Please do not forget that." Nyx turns, happy to speak to the waitress. "He had given himself to people who believe they are doing good for Eubric, but are in fact sowing the very seeds of its destruction. The Wolfgang make easy promises to the poor, I have heard them myself, but they bed down with a deceiver who will bring down the walls of Eubric and tear this city apart, the hovels included." Nyx realises how somber she has become, and so brightens with a smile, remembering that it is a party. She takes yet another drink, with a word of thanks to the waitress, and nod to those with whom she had just been speaking. She seeks out Lord Chauncey in the crowd and approaches him. "Sir, I am Nyx, a Mage of Heroica, I hope you don't mind me approaching you. Are you enjoying Master Guffington's party?" another bow, another curtsey.

"Ah, you are too kind, but my three companions here were the ones who saved Master Guffington back then. I am a newcomer here, but I'm very pleased to be here nonetheless. That is a very generous offer you make, and you never know, we may take you up on it." Nyx continues to sip at her glass, smiling and looking around the room, watching the interactions. She sees Samuel walk away from Mme Ladybug towards Hybros. "Gentlemen, if you would excuse me, but I have heard so much about Mme Ladybug and I should very much like to present myself to her." she nods and smiles to her companions in a friendly way. Nyx joins Madame Ladybug at the server, taking a fresh glass and leaving her empty one behind. She turns to the lady. "Madame, are you enjoying the wine? It seems Master Guffington has excellent taste. I am Nyx, by the way, and I am honoured to make your acquaintance." and she smiles and curtseys, yet again.

Nyx blinks slightly, before smiling and turning her attention to the Captain and taking his hand to shake firmly but not too tightly. "Captain Elba, you are clearly highly regarded by Lord Hinckwell here, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." she curtseys yet again.

Nah, I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up a couple of the fawns too.

Nyx leans conspiratorially towards the Wereraven. "You have a remarkable talent. I'm not about to disclose anything you may have missed, sorry ; I did acquire my Darkness abilities very soon after joining Heroica, though, so that might explain your.. addition." she looks over at Henry Hinckwell "Well, I wouldn't want to keep disappointing the gentleman, now would I? Excuse me." and she winks again and grins at Doctor Everstien as she drains her glass and glides over to Henry Hinckwell, picking up another couple of drinks (just like Guts) on the way over. Her customary curtsey, and she introduces herself with another sweet smile, proffering the glass. "Lord Hinckwell, it is an honour to meet you. I am Nyx. I hope you do not mind me intruding upon your time in such a presumptuous way?"

It was great timing that you were there! Nice to see you again. Absolutely. We're also already planning the drive to Billund, and also working out plans to kidnap a raccoon on the way up. -
Nyx smiles. "You're direct. I like that. I'm afraid you haven't read me completely, but a girl must have some secrets, mustn't she?" and she winks conspiratorially "I'd be interested if you could do the same with someone else, maybe Mr Hinckwell there? I'm most impressed with your abilities, Doctor." she raises her glass in a silent toast to Dr Everstien.

The only thing I can think of for Nyx is: Nyx: she'll set your heart on fire. And then she'll torch the rest of you. Too corny? Not corny enough? I don't watch enough B-Movies...
