  1. Run for your lives! It's a LIFESIZE 2005 Blacktron Dalek!! Even stairs won't save you!!! Head over to the Sci-Fi forum and have a good look at this monstrous wonder, and let its creator Elephant Knight know what you think!
  2. Thank you very much for letting me play Tammo, I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed your hosting, especially the pictures and the humour. I hope to play in one of your games again. Congrats scum, and commiserations fellow townies, especially Kristel who put so much into this game - you played so hard and so well, so I hope you're still proud of what you accomplished.
  3. We also have pictures here at EB. The discussion is over at Special Themes, here.
  4. Hello Townsfolk! We thought it would be nice to have a General Discussion topic. A topic where you can make suggestions to us, we can discuss things with you all, and where we can make small announcements relating to the Town Forum. This is where we'd love to hear about the things you like about the Town Forum, suggestions of things you'd like to see (or see more of), and where we can announce any changes to the Forum or give news about upcoming contests and events. We'd love to hear your thoughts! The Town Staff.
  5. Or they could be an updated version of FABULAND scooters.
  6. Then we're off to Town, the home of Friends and Minifig (and Minidoll) scale Town MOCs. Hold on tightly, hands inside the car at all times, scream if you wanna go faster....
  7. The activity around the questboard attracts Nyx's attention, and as people gradually clear away she makes her way over, watching Hybros and Guts leave on another adventure as she walks over. She scans down the board. Hmm, not chosen for the bodyguard duty, and that was where the others were headed, oh well. The Hinckwell manor thing... she'd just come back from gruesome events (some of which she'd caused) at a grand house, maybe that wasn't what she needed right now. Nyx removes her name from Quest #83: Four's Company. Her eyes scan down further... more Hinckwell shenanigans, still feuding with the Shadeaux, she grimaces slightly and keeps reading until she sees the Oracle's request. That was much more like it, somewhere warm with lots of things to blow to smithereens. The desert had never been too bad, except the walking, lack of soft furnishings and sand that got everywhere, but at least she might be warm and dry for once. And there was still the blowing up demons thing. Her eyes flash a little when she sees Byblos' name carefully penned. Curious. Too curious, almost. Nyx signs her name under Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror.
  8. This is so colourful and detailed, and it's a great idea to build your own Carousel but put a different spin on it. There are so many interesting things to spot, like the microfigs on the rim of the Carousel canopy, and a good number of 1x1 trans-pink glitter bricks. I love the multi-coloured light caused by the rainbow stack of trans bricks - they still look pretty with the lights off too. Really lovely job, and I'm looking forward to more in the series. (If you're producing a series of Carousels I'll leave this here in Special, but if it's a series of Friends themepark rides I'll steal it to Town. )
  9. Big kudos to you Sandy for taking on such a mammoth game and running it so well. It was a new concept, mixing mafia and Heroica, and to take on something so massive for the first time, just for our enjoyment, is to be commended. Thank you for the immense amount of thought, time and effort you put into this, and as expected the presentation was lovely with a whole host of great characters to play. I do agree that the scum had a really tough time this game and it would have been very difficult for them to win, and there were a couple of things that have been mentioned that would be worth tweaking should this ever run again, but that's only something we can now appreciate in hindsight - after Sandy's already put so much time and effort into running this. I had a lot of fun playing, even though I never really said very much. I appreciated those people who were able to both post meaningfully and roleplay in the same post (and be readable ), and the behind the scenes Heroicans (of which I'm sure I only had a glimpse) were certainly more organised than it might have appeared.
  10. You may find it the worst LEGO theme ever, however Friends sells spectacularly well for the company, so making a TV programme makes logical business sense.
  11. Nyx looks over the Raider in front of her. Such a warm heart, and a kind and honest soul. She was lucky to know him, she realised. She should hold onto this thought, she realises. "You've had recent great success then? And Ella wrote to you expressing her faith in you?" a pang of jealousy; he had a letter at least "You're a very lucky man, do not let her go. Defeating the 108 Stars of Destiny does not sound like a small act, she is right to be proud. And to have faith." another warm smile "I try to keep a rein on my barbaric side - imagine if I smashed all the tables! Scheherezade would bar me and I'd have to go back to getting other people to buying me drinks! Plus the company's a little more interesting here." a grin "Nah, I have to resist the urge to smash stuff, no matter how much people tempt me sometimes."
  12. That is jaw-droppingly good! It looks so much like a "real" Dalek, it's incredibly detailed, and it's huuuuuuge! Please post some more pictures here - I saw them on your flickr, but it'd be great for people to see the true extent of your work and your achievement in this thread. Especially, it'd be great to see pictures chronicling how you came to build and assemble all the different detailed sections of this humungous build.
  13. Nyx looks up at her old friend and smiles. "Nah, I'm just thinking some stuff over, that's all. That deep contemplation rubbish us mages are supposed to do all the time. Y'know, life the universe and everything? That stuff." she laughs lightly, but Guts' discussion about power still preyed on her mind slightly. "Tarn, it really is good to see you again. You seem much more content these days, although I know you miss Ella badly. Dastan ... it's a place that calls to the soul really, isn't it? The way you both feel about each other, you'll see her again, even if we do have to make a damn quest out of it." with this last remark Nyx grins and winks at Tarn.
  14. Thanks Sandy.
  15. I'm (only very mildly) annoyed because I originally invented it (Grogmas present to Cronk). Dammit. I figured this would be the answer, though, which is why I didn't just go ahead and use it. EDIT- A little bit of a search though does describe it as being usable on accessories and artefacts as well, though.
  16. Apologies for asking what may be an obvious question (or one that has been asked before)... I won Bright Polish in the anniversary raffle - can I apply it to my Robe of the Archmagi, or can it only used on shields by shield-carrying classes?
  17. I'm going to move this to Culture and Multimedia, as that's where all the other TV shows based on LEGO themes are discussed.
  18. Nyx looks around the table, and then around the room. Lots of little conversations here and there, hushed voices, greetings. She was feeling restless already, and her drink had run out. She gets up and stretches her arms, feeling her muscles tense and relax - it was still an odd feeling to her. She picks up her empty glass and moves to have it refilled at the bar, nibbling at some of Scheherezade's homemade biscuits while she waits for her drink. She turns and gazes round the room some more, thinking about Guts' proposal; not something that would happen overnight, so she'd best occupy herself in the meantime. She walks over to the questboard and looks at the petitions, still thinking and sipping her drink. After some deliberation, she signs her name for Quest #82: Stop the Presses and Quest #83: Four's Company. That done, she retakes her seat at the table, and continues drinking and thinking.
  19. Thanks for the feedback Zeph, I also greatly appreciate it. I understand what you're saying about Nyx evolving, and I thought she had been, but it's evident I need to portray that more, so it's good to know. Nyx had a lot of fun interacting with Everstien, Avery and Chauncey - all definitely people who piqued her interest and I'd like to see lots more of them (but I think Nyx most wants to meet XX again, though). Count me in! Can't promise Nyx actually will understand the Zepher finale, but she'll be there. A few other things, I love Hybros and Guts' characters. Hybros's awkwardness and vaguely sinister nature while still being a friendly guy (and an assassin of short stature) are wonderful. And Guts is great as the grumpy not-quite-faded-but-fading tough guy. He makes me think of Bruce Willis, really. Maybe it's the baldness. Docken isn't really a character, but BD, like the other two guys, you were great to quest with. It was a really great team in my eyes.
  20. Panduin grunts and belches loudly, as if he's about to say something important. But he isn't. He merely encourages himself before launching a critical attack on Percival.
  21. You have both been added. Welcome to the Reviewers Academy.
  22. "But it is fun." she mutters sulkily.
  23. I appreciate you had a mindbending time trying to keep track of who knew what about whom and when, and I think you did well with that. I always find your characters interesting. Given that you've heard our thoughts, are we likely to hear yours (I know you've posted your views on the quest) on us all? I'd be interested to hear more on your take of us as a team and how we interacted (in the times we hadn't spilt up, of course! )
  24. "Maybe he does it 'cos it's fun?" Nyx mutters into her glass, shrugging. She looks over at Atramor and realises she hadn't wanted to punch him or strangle him in all the time they'd been sitting at the table (so far), so maybe his diplomacy was better after all. Musing on this, she keeps drinking.
  25. The prizes we've quoted here are the prizes for our competition here at Eurobricks; they are not shared with FBTB. Voting will also be entirely separate; these are two separate competitions on a similar theme, run by two different websites.
