"Byeeee! Thanks again Hathor!" Nyx waves as they leave the pub. At the edge of the desert she squints into the vast landscape of sand, before announcing to no-one in particular "I'm ready to go whichever way Namyrra wants to go, which will probably be East. Can we go see some of the thingies? The obelisks? We might have to go via a couple of the oases too." she looks around once more before absent-mindedly stuffing her Doomshroom Cap (permanent Ether +1) into her mouth and munching.

Thanks for the compliment, and yes the 3315 Olivia's House sets currently on sale are identical to the Olivia's House reviewed here. I don't remember seeing Creator ads in Friends sets recently, but it's been a while since I opened a new Friends set, sadly. Yes, it is indeed possible some voters may not own the set, but anybody is free to vote. The vote is, after all, based on the opinion people have of the set themselves after reading my review. Back when I first posted this review I think it's fair to say that there was rather a lot of animosity towards the Friends line, which I also believe has significantly dissipated. The Friends review index, maintained by the ever-lovely and efficient Rick, is up to date, so if there's a review missing in the index then that means there isn't one on Eurobricks, I'm afraid.

"And if you're willing to buy me drinks, you're my kind of girl too! I wouldn't say no to a Nostrum please, and this is very kind of you. We should toast to your health!" Nyx just grins and grins at Catnip and this turn of events.

"I'm not surprised, if you made him drink that lot. Is there an amusing story behind how you came to even combine those things in the first place? I think I'd prefer the drunkenness myself, really." "I couldn't agree more, Catnip, but I seem to be a little light in the gold department. I am a huge fan of drunkenness myself, but..." Nyx looks endearingly at Catnip and meaningfully looks at her near-empty coin purse.

I am very happy now that my Standard now has those three elements too; I'd like to think something similar is happening within it as well (albeit without the lifestealing bit). Plus, I still have my Book (and its occasional spider) for the general belting of Etherials.

"We have to pay? I was expecting the drinks to be free... for .. no clear reason whatsoever. " Nyx looks down the list of drinks, tapping her lips with her forefinger and frowning at the prices. On reaching the Banana Headsplit at the bottom she audibly groans and slumps into a slouch. She looks at the board, looks at the slapped-yet-unresponsive Nizam and looks at the board again with a slightly pained expression. "Can't I just belt him with my Healing Staff?" she mumbles to herself "80 gold just to sober someone up?"

Interestingly on the UK shop@home site, all the Advent Calendars are significantly reduced: £19.99 down to £15.99 for Friends and City (although City is currently sold out at the time of writing) and £24.99 to £19.99 for the Star Wars one. An awful lot of their seasonal stock seems to be sold out, so I'm surprised the prices have been reduced.

Unless they crawl out of a weapon once in a blue moon.

"To the bar! I'm never going to argue with that suggestion. Oh and we should top up our canteens while we're there, assuming we can." "Oh, we're there. Yes, I'd love a drink please Hathor!" Nyx eyes the snoring Nizam, planning to gently awaken him once she has a drink.

OoC: Link to my purchases (sorry, quite a few). "Yup, I'm ready and raring to go again too. I'd still like a drink, though, but I can wait."

Shopping, shopping, shopping! And more gold in her pocket than she'd ever had before! Nyx meanders her way through the bustling Marketplace, admiring wares and just soaking up the atmosphere of being back in her home town again, even if it was far too cold. She sees Elphaba's wagon once more and cannot resist the urge to visit her now she's back again. "Hello madam, I am drawn greatly to these wands of yours, and I always like these shiny and destructive gems; hmmm" Eventually, after lots of picking up and examining and putting down, Nyx decides to buy one Lullaby Wand (516-90= 426gold), a Scroll of Sealing (426-50= 376gold), a Scroll of Blindness (376-50= 326gold), an Amethyst (326-100= 226gold) and a Diamond (226-100= 126 gold), and a Pumpkin Bomb (126-60= 66gold). After thanking Elphaba, Nyx moves on to Anwyl and asks him to merge her new Diamond with her Zee's Standard (66-50= 16gold). Satisfied with her purchases she catches up with the rest of her companions once more.

"Yaaays, we found the pub! Let's have a drink. Oh, and maybe go back to Eubric for some shopping. And more drinking. And then we can find this guide dude, head back into the desert, kick some demon butt and be home in time for cocktails? Sound like a plan?" Nyx grins and looks around expectantly.

"I agree we need to get back to find the real guide, but we really should refill our canteens again while we're here, seeing as it doesn't cost me Ether that I can use to blow stuff up." As if to demonstrate, Nyx goes to refill her canteen and motions the others to follow her. "Oh, and Docken, can you ask the snake or the spider or the birdies if they have any idea which way to go out of here?"

"Nah, I know, but there were birds and snakes and spiders and stuff in the oasis... that you didn't see. I'm just saying that if we get to another oasis then there might be more."

Nyx sniggers a little at the display, despite herself. "Well, if they could do anything then maybe Docken could talk to them? He's part Ranger and can talk to... animals. Ok, it is a stretch, but it might be worth a shot. Oh, and if we happen to see any other fauna out here they might be able to help. Assuming they aren't trying to eat us, of course."

OoC: Thanks Sandy for automatically switching my Mirage Cloak in! Nyx smiles as Atramor comes round. It had startled her to see him lying in the sand like that and she was just grateful they'd found him. She replies to his request, still smiling. "Sorry Atters, this stone doesn't produce rum, so you'll have to make do with just water. " She then holds her Sapphire over Atramor's canteen, watching the pure, clear water run down into it refilling at the cost of one Ether.

"If I were to ask for anything, I would ask for the Cloak. I leave it up to you Namyrra. If we can refill the canteens here then we should refill the large canteen for extra supplies." Nyx wanders off to explore the area, taking the opportunity to refill her canteen in the oasis. She looks around in case anything useful happens to be lying around.

Nyx refills Namyrra's canteen with her sapphire, just in case, still sitting in the sand at the back.

Nyx looks at Namyrra, looks at her Amethyst and her Standard, and looks at Namyrra again. It wasn't that often these days that people asked not to attack, so she was a little confused. She shrugs, slightly deflated, and takes herself to the back of the party where she sits down and files her nails, watching the rest of the battle with interest. "We're gonna go and get Atramor after this, right?" she calls to Namyrra "Especially as chances are he's found some sort of bar and he's probably horribly drunk already. Lucky bastard."

Nyx surveys the remaining enemies. "Right, well then (ow), I'll keep at old firepants then." Nyx launches another darkness spell through her standard at the Pyromancer from the back row.

Just as an aside, to have a Magic Counter, Nyx has to take damage. It's a roll of 4. There's only one other Advanced job class that takes damage on a roll of 4 and that's Beserker - Barbarian and Knight - and they get to use shields. Nyx has no greater access to SP artifacts above any other player, and she doesn't have a huge amount of HP either, making her very much the glass cannon. Thus there's a greater risk of her taking damage than most other players, and a subsequent high risk of her dying when a high level enemy just splats her.
