Nope, only Mods and Admins can give out titles. It was Rufus who gave you that title.

Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Is that only because I didn't select an element by using the Healing Staff? I assume so, 'cos I remember it was decided that Battlemage Shields would use the element selected. Anyway, awesome winging it! -
There was a rather nice bathroom in 3315 Olivia's House.
-
Presents! Lots of presents. Nyx would definitely agree. Other than that, your surprises are cool. Fortunately it's balanced completely by her ability to just die at any given moment, and her near-inability to actually roll a Shield. There was that hard floor that hit us a lot.

Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx goes to strike herself, but a new feeling takes hold of her. She wants to hit everything, to fire spells at everyone, and only her experience allows her to control herself slightly. She manages not to harm, but help, her allies, and also restrict the darkness magics to her enemies. Panting slightly, she feels stronger than she's ever felt and some of her lost confidence glows within once more. "I'd love to Namyrra, but I'm not quite sure what it actually was I just did. Happy to try, though!" And with a grin and a wink at her old friend she grabs her Standard and focuses a Darkness spell at Sabredancer B from the back row. EDIT OoC: I was wondering what would happen with a Shield whilst using the Healing Staff, and now I know. Cool. -
The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
Pandora replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As made clear from the interview with the Friends Designers I conducted (that the OP quoted), Minidolls were brought into existence to satisfy a market need - young girls liked the sets but didn't like the Minifigures so much because they couldn't relate to them. This might explain why they are now being used in other lines aimed at girls, namely the Disney princesses line. I love the Friends sets, and I'm more than happy to incorporate Minifigs (which I also love) into Friends sets. With these sets we get such a wonderful array of colours and parts, and we also get the buildings we really want for our own town, too. To me, the figures that go with a set matter very little, and didn't matter at all when I was a child. My Fabuland were just as much a part of the small town I built as a child as my Minifigs; neither I nor my Minifigs batted an eyelid at a Fabu Raccoon riding a bright red scooter down the main street because it just didn't seem to matter. I hope it's very clear here in Town that the Friends sets are as much part of Town as City sets are - this is very much how Rick and I see things when we talk about the forum. We want to integrate rather than separate. The ideologies for both Friends and City are pretty much the same:- everyday buildings and everyday life in Minifigure/Minidoll scale, and they both actually integrate really well. I don't at all see the Minifig and Minidoll as rivals, and if having Minidolls means that producing the Friends line makes business sense and thus continues, then I am all for them as I truly believe the Friends sets have been far more interesting than the recent City releases. I personally don't think there needs to be just one or the other and that there is certainly room in our hearts for both. -

"Namyrra my dear, the choice is yours. You can either have your green dude heal me and then have me (and my bad luck) attack, or you can yourself attack and I can try to hit myself with my Healing Staff. I leave the choice up to you. Nether solution is without its complications." -
It's that time of year again! The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we're already excited about the latest additions to the Winter Village from TLG: The Winter Village Cottage and the Winter Village Market. It's now becoming a tradition here in Town that we love to see people's own creations to add to the Winter Village, and this year is no different. Things have changed slightly, but the core of the contest is here - we'd love YOU to build us a 16x16 vignette or set to expand upon the theme of the Winter Village Market. We'd love to see stalls and activities and lots of people having wintery fun, and we'd also love this to be either Town themed or Friends themed. Minidolls in entries are most welcome! So come on Eurobricks, what are you waiting for? Let's have some wintery fun, and show us what your Winter Village inspired creation is! The Rules Entries must be posted by midnight UTC, December 31st, 2013. One entry per member. Entries must be 16x16 in size, however overhang of one stud is permissible. The 16x16 space may be divided up into multiples of 8x8 modules (i.e., one 16x16 module, two 8x16 modules, one 8x16 and two 8x8 modules, or four 8x8 modules). Entries should be either Town themed or Friends themed and may include either (or both) Minifigs and Minidolls Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously) and be similar in style to the previous official TLG releases. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in their own entry topic in the Town forum. Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"It's a great idea but that woman is immune to pretty much everything, including sleep and sealed. Mind you the great thing about Byblos is that he's 100% guaranteed to read a scroll successfully - a skill I'd love to pick up myself. I'm giving up on fire-pants for now anyway, so maybe Byblos should put him back to sleep so he stops bothering us." Nyx shrugs. -

"What have you got against demonologists, Saladdin? Not that I study demons, I prefer blowing them up, but demonologists seems to be a strange group of people to take a disliking to." Nyx looks around the small battlefield. A few people could do with healing, including her, but there were still a good number of annoyances around. She eyes up the remaining Nomad, figuring she has the best chance of taking him out in one go and also survive any damage. She aims a Darkness spell at Saracen Nomad A through her Standard from the back row. -
Sorry. Thank you for your patient explanation.

Then the rule change was... already in effect then? There really has been a rip in the fabric of time.
-
But that's only true now, as of Sandy's rule change. Has there been a rip in the fabric of time?

Nyx just shakes her head. So damn unlucky, but at least no-one got hurt. Resignedly, she just prepares to repeat again, but fearing the worst. -
If anyone here would like to reply to Risgrynsgrot, then please do not reply in this topic but reply to his post in the "What Should I Buy" thread. Click here to see his post and do so if you wish to.

I wouldn't have come here if I hadn't seen your post in the Friends discussion thread. Anyway, the Riding Camp is the biggest set Friends has produced so far, so it's impossible to beat in terms of size. I would say it really depends on what your daughter enjoyed about the Riding Camp, as there were a number of really lovely sets released this summer, along with the original wave. If she liked the modular style build then I would recommend Olivia's House (even though it was one of the first sets) as it really is a landmark set, and it's got many of the fun features in the build that the Riding Camp has. Similarly Heartlake High from the most recent wave is another modular build with a lot of detailing and a fun build, but it's a little smaller than Olivia's House. I have reviewed all three of these sets for Eurobricks, so I have pretty good knowledge of them and their comparisons. My thoughts are detailed here: 3185 Summer Riding Camp, 3315 Olivia's House, 41005 Heartlake High. If your daughter liked the horse/ animal side for things, then my next recommendation would be the Dolphin Cruiser - it impressed a hardened pirate (who shall remain nameless) when he built it at the EB event this year. Here's Oky's review of 41015. There are a number of other horse-related sets, like the horse trailer and the stables and the vets, but although those sets are great, you indicated you wanted a "wow" set. If you want to just go left-field, then I can really recommend the new Downtown Bakery (review by Hinckley) as it's a great build with loads of detailing and loads of playfeatures for your daughter. For more information about the Friends sets have a look at the Friends Review Index for other people's insights.

Hey Flitwick, I distinctly remember Nyx meeting Hoptet. Does she count as the one with red fur or black (given that it's both)?

Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx fails to suppress a snigger. "That is absolutely hila.. terrible" her expression changes from amusement to not very convincing seriousness in a heartbeat "It's terrible, tragic. Awful, even. So we'll obviously have to go rescue him after this." Nyx coughs and looks around shiftily. "Hey, look! I hit him! Ok, so I woke him up, but I did actually managed to hit him again." a hopeful look "I guess I'll try that again, then. Fingers crossed everybody." *cough* -
No, no, no, no, no. They're not just for NPCs, they're for killing everyone! Drop them on a quest that Nyx is on. At least she can actually guarantee dealing damage with a bomb.

Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Gnargh!" Nyx growls as yet another spell fails to connect "It's not like he's even bloody moving! Gaaaah!" Nyx eyes the improved Byblos, pleased to see him looking better, and listens to Namyrra's suggestion. "Namyyra, I'm willing to bet that as soon as Byblos picks up that bloody book he will go back to being moody and grumpy Byblos, with all that Weak and Fragile and Slowed stuff too. I know it's a heavy tome, but he might feel better throwing another book at the baddies, like that poison one maybe? He can pick up the Pandemonicon at the end of the battle, maybe?" Nyx prepares to repeat her action yet again. -

OoC: He's been like that since the start, plus being fragile doesn't help either. I'm hoping it goes away when he gets rid of the Pandemonicon. -
