  1. Like @Murdoch17 I really don't think they will. Though I doubt it's gonna sell too well. I know kids like race cars but we have city and speed champions for that. Kids also like minifigs which it sounds like this series won't really be, I suppose it is good for TLG to experiment and try new things but ehhh not sounding too great is it. It's funny though that I'm yet to see a single person (here, elsewhere online or IRL) express any interest or excitement for this series. Every other series I've seen at least a tiny bit of interest but this one? So far nada.
  2. New dumpling part in the 2025 Monkie kid and CNY sets. As I said on Brickset it could easily double as a Cornish pasty.
  3. Absolutely fantastic. If this was next year's modular it'd be my next favourite.
  4. Shame that they didn't reuse the elf with pigtails part from the CMF Series 23.
  5. Eh. I can agree that Playmobil is a Lego competitor but only insomuch as all toys are as @Black Falcon stated. You say the extra step of building it first but that's the main step really, some might even think of Lego sets (that won't be rebuilt into something else) as like 3D jigsaw puzzles. Playmobil isn't even at similar scale as minifig stuff. Aren't most toys role playing toys by that logic? From a wooden sword to a hot wheels track to a cuddly Pikachu to a Lego Ninjago dragon.
  6. See the thing with that is really it wasn't the The Last Jedi's choice to go in this direction. The force awakens set up the idea of Luke hiding away on an island and I think TLJ gave the most logical answer it could as to why. I mean there could've been other reasons, maybe he wanted some peace and quiet to give him the space to learn some super secret special technique to defeat the first order, maybe he got space amnesia and forgot about the first order. But neither of those options feel satisfying to me, Luke has always followed his emotions whether it leads to cloud city, redeeming Vader or running away from Kylo. I think he was more scared of idea of him turning into someone ruthless and cold then he was scared of the first order. I like the idea that he seems what he could have become and runs from it rather than embracing it and joining the dark side like he did for a short while in legends. But to me the world and world building of star wars has always been more interesting to me than any individual character. But back to the Last Jedi, I think Rian Johnson shows better skill as a storyteller here than JJ Abrams does in his whole catalogue of work, and I wonder what we could have gotten if he had had control of the whole trilogy from the word go. ( And if Disney hadn't rushed them to realise in such a tight timeframe, because I feel that seriously hampered things). I'd argue that most NuCanon expanded universe fabs are also fans of alot of the legends continuity too. I myself am at least. My favourite star wars book series would be the High Republic books but if was asked for star wars book recommendations I'd probably say the OG Thrawn trilogy or the Calrissian chronicles trilogy. ( Mostly because the High Republic is 24 Novels, + several short stories, Audio plays, and then you can also the Manga and the comics as well whereas both the trilogies mentioned are just 3 books.) Only if it gets scary so no... See that's that's what makes the sequels so hard to rank for me. TFA is definitely the one I had most fun watching first time round, but I do think it sets up most of pitfalls of the later films. This film did do a lot right; Finn feels like the lead, or at least an equal Co-star to Rey, whereas in later films he gets more and more shafted. Takodana feels new and yet at the same time it fits in the galaxy perfectly , it's similar to the cantina but unlike the First Order/Empire or the resistance/rebellion it's different enough that I don't mind it. I do wish Old Han had met up with the whole OT Gang (So Luke, Lando, Chewie, Leia and the droids) before he died. I think in a vacuum TFA might be one om favourite SW films but it's not in a vacuum. It sets up too many mystery boxes with no thought of the pay off and it's too much of a ANH copy. The Aesthetic similarities honestly bother me in some ways more than the plot similarities.
  7. I mean most movies have no spider man. In the vast scheme of things he's in a relatively negligible amount of movies. I mean let's takes some random examples. Detective Pikachu: No Spider-man Gone with the Wind: No Spider-man Parasite: No Spider-man Twilight Breaking Dawn : No Spider-man The Lego Batman Movie: No Spider-man Thor : No Spider-man Everything Everywhere all at once: No Spider-man The Muppets Christmas Carrol: No Spider-man Prey: No Spider-man The Barbie Movie: No Spider-man JoJo Rabbit: No Spider-man Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: No Spider-man Batman Versus TMNT: No Spider-man The princess bride: No Spider-man Thor Love and Thunder: No Spider-man 300: No Spider-man Love actually: No Spider-man Mamma Mia here we go again: No Spider-man Puss in boots the last wish : No Spider-man Raja Harishchandra: No Spider-man Pokémon the Movie 2000: No Spider-man Okja: No Spider-man Solo a star wars story : No Spider-man The King and I: No Spider-man Thor Ragnarok: No Spider-man Avengers Assemble: No Spider-man The Dig: No Spider-man Pandora: No Spider-man Paradise lost : No Spider-man Pokémon 4ever : No Spider-man Robin Hood men in tights : No Spider-man Daredevil : No Spider-man Thor the dark world: No Spider-man The perks of being a wallflower: No Spider-man Batman Forever: No Spider-man The train to Busan: No Spider-man Bad Jelly the Witch: No Spider-man Scott pilgrim: No Spider-man Home alone : No Spider-man Juno : No Spider-man Oppenheimer: No Spider-man Tick tock boom : no Spider-Man Doctor Who the movie: No Spider-man Shang Chi and the legend of the 10 rings : No Spider-man Sideways: No Spider-man Hacksaw ridge: No Spider-man Star Trek the search for Spock: No Spider-man Howl's moving castle: No Spider-man Black Adam: No Spider-man I could list movies without Spider-Man till the moon waxes.
  8. No I don't mind. Despite preconceptions I have seen some quite scathing from Lan members and regardless of that I use reviews to get more info on a set but rarely are they the deciding factor (at least with Lego, other things are a different beast).
  9. I like the city space but it did show (alongside the explorers sub theme and even the farm stuff) how inaccurate the name has become. City nowadays is a bit of an umbrella theme. What would have been separate actions themes for space and adventurers now fall under its breadth. And I mean the current sci-fi space, the more modern day inspired stuff we got back in 2011 was more of actual city stuff compared to the subthemes we're getting now that would have been their own themes years ago.
  10. None of friends or family are rich enough to drop over a hundred quid on a Christmas present for me , I'm probably the most extravagant gifter in the group and even then a modular building would be pushing it.
  11. See to me Star wars is so much more than the movies, they're only a tiny part of it. It's the shows, the cartoons, the books, even comics and video games. Of the time I've invested in consuming star wars media the movies probably account for less than 10% of it would be the movies. I'm the sort of weirdo that rereads books and rewatches while TV shows so whole I rewatch the movies they're still but a tiny fraction. I've liked most star wars stores I've watched, read or played. And I do find it quite hard to rank them because that list is not static and also because it depends on the metric we are using to quantify. There are some that do some things better than others but other things worse. Of course the logical way to rank is simply by basing it on how much you like each one but that in and of itself can be hard to quantify, to compare, to even put into words. That said here's my vague attempt a loose ranking Love: Rogue one, Revenge of the Sith, The Empire strikes back. Also love but slightly less: Return of the Jedi, The Phantom menace, Solo Like: The Clone Wars Movie, A New Hope, The Last Jedi, The Attack of the Clones, The Force Awakens. I do not like: The Rise of Skywalker. The first 2 sequel films are in a weird place where I like them as movies but I don't think they fit well with eachother and I wish the sequels had taken a less repetitive direction but I still enjoy them for what they are. The third sequel film I do not enjoy, though it's far from the worst thing I've ever seen and it is nice to see Billy Dee back as Lando. From what I know of it, it's totally absurd and a very bizarre direction to take the story in. But I still think I'd have liked it more than tRoS simply because it does it repeat that films greatest flaw... Which is just being kinda boring. Duel of the fates would probably have been a bad film but at least it would have been interesting.
  12. Buildable B2EMO. And if city can sell prison escapes why not Star wars? The E-wing in Ahsoka wasn't a major part of show but got a set, and maybe someday we can say the same of Yord's Vector. ( Okay I'm an optimist) That's very true and to be honest I'm sure I'm guilty of that myself.
  13. Thanks, One of WIPs I had was a workshop for Jason so maybe I'll do more with that someday for a potential year 2. Canon is always a flexible thing in Doctor Who, but here are my best guesses for where they all ended up. White/Supreme : Back-up judge on the Skaro bake-off in case auton Paul Hollywood or weeping Mary berry or Prue (The Rani) Leith are off ill. Red/Drone : Deal or no deal contestant. Orange/scientist : Assistant manger in a Sainsburys in Hull. Yellow/Eternal : Member of the sinistero corps Blue/strategist : A Tory MP
  14. Yeah, perhaps. But regardless it still means those characters were on their radar, probably the decision to base it more on 97 is why they got replaced.
  15. Well from the original survey leak we know that at one point Emma Frost, Mystique, and Sabertooth we're all considered by TLG.
  16. Yeah it does, I mean the perfect option would be somewhere in-between that and the Boromir hair they usually give him but of the 2 I like this better.
  17. Isn't Brickheadz it's own theme? With set numbers nowhere near the SW ones? Maybe it's an Accolyte set I'm not giving up on my dreams.
  18. Okay get this: they should make a Venomised Joker!
  19. I think TLJ is the best sequel film when it comes to visuals.
  20. I can sorta see that that's what they were going for but I'm still not quite sure they pulled it off TBH. I prefer Captain Marvel (Shazam)'s adaption in young justice S1, the DCAMU and the DCAU. And you make a good point that this movie really doesn't fit into the wider universe it's supposed to be part of very well, the batman merch being a prime example of that. But yeah it's not a bad movie but it's a bit underwhelming for a character I quite like.
  21. What no Congressional Garbage Tunnel or Watergate gas station? You have no Jokers !! Clearly they need to put out more sets with the Joker in.
  22. I must admit I don't know exactly where my Jack Stone figures are ATM ( probably mixed in a tub with other miscellaneous and unsorted parts) but I will try your technique at some point and share my results here.
  23. I think it's not that part but a similar new part and not a tongue. After all they'd have cyberpunk techno aesthetic.
  24. I already own both those sets and no I didn't play full price for either. But the torso designs in those sets don't really match the aesthetic of normal minifigs. And like I said in the marvel thread I didn't actually hate the Shazam movie, I just didn't love it either. I don't think it did the character justice ( though TBH I could also say that the Accolyte didn't do Vernestra justice either but that wasn't enough to put me off the show).
  25. I've only actually seen the first one. But I didn't say I disliked it just that I prefer the Marvel Captain Marvel movies. The Shazam movie was fun but kinda failed to leave an impression. Also the Guy playing Shazam really didn't feel like he was the same person as Billy, like he acted as if he was playing a much younger kid in an adults body.
