Hi Phred, thanks for all your hard work preparing this amazing summary. I don't really understand how the settlements work but I think Port Raleigh should have at least some value as it has a few good buildings. Ska has calculated its setlement value as 8, whatever that means. Please check and amend the summary sheet when you get time. Thanks!

[SR-FB1] May '16 - The Barber-Surgeon of Saville
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Kwatchi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great scene! Grim and humorous at the same time. You have combined two different sets of equipment, barber and surgeon, and shown both very nicely. Great circular mirror and pomades. Nice use of the crutches minifig as well! The Dark Bishop looks like he's wearing a comedy false beard! -

Wonderful job Legostone! The rigging is amazing...actually all of it is amazing! -
When I heard MCTC were building a royal size factory, I was sceptical...but no longer! You have totally earned the title 'royal' for this amazing build. Everything about is perfect. I love the colours and the hundreds of fun tiny details. I want to be 2 cms high so I can visit this amazing building! Well done to all at MCTC and Eslandola for supporting this fabulous project. Hawksbrugh wants to know why, if there's a river next door, the factory isn't water powered. But that's him all over, he's never satisfied.

Lifting Spirits at Tragian's Stage
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to gedren_y's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I really like these 'anthropological' type builds where we learn more of the culture and religon of the BoBS world. This build and story gets it just right; a few friends sneaking off for a slightly secret, slightly baffling exploration of a new religion. I quite fancy joining them for this wonderful performnce! Nice vegetation too. Personally I have a bug bear about mixing flesh and yellow faces in the same build, I feel it gives very confusing messages about ethnicity in BoBS world and suggests a serious outbreak of jaundice, but I suppose that's down to individual taste.- 6 replies

[ESL-FB3] How to Steer (Comic)
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
'the humour is on the money as always' (Phadeout) Surely you mean the humour is on the monkey as always? This is such a fabulous little series I am rather at a loss for words; hilarious, inspired, simian. There's three to start with. Hawksbrugh is working on a solution to the steering problem...unfortunately progress is slow...but watch this space.- 15 replies

[ESL-FB2] Crawling from the Wreckage
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To Alberto de Pontelli Dated this 6th day of May in the 616th year After Empire My dear Mr Pontelli, imagine my distress when, so soon after I had heard of your recent successes with phlogiston, another letter arrived conveying the news of your recent misfortune. A tragedy indeed! I was greatly relieved to hear you were uninjured, though I gather your experiments did not get off so lightly. If there is anything I can do to assist you in your current distress, or can contribute to the resumption of your experiments, you have only to ask. Mr Ravenscroft has very kindly offered to blow for you one of the giant glass phlogiston storage flasks he has been developing, which we believe considerably reduce the explosive risk, especially when filled out of doors. However we are baffled as to how we can convey the fragile flask to you in safety. Mr Janszen, Major Howard and Lady Norrington join with me in sending you our warmest wishes and heartfelt condolences. I remain sir, your most admiring collaborator in the pursuit of science, John Hawksbrugh.- 10 replies

I loved the doubloons arriving from BoBS in the chest! Nice little office with minimal pieces as well, lovely desk clutter, and using the cardboard wall as a background was clever. You can easily register this as a free build using the online form...and another chest of doubloons will be on its way to you!

[ESL-FB] Governor’s Mansion
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Captain, there is no reason whatsoever that you should be 'stylistically correct' in any aspect of this build or any other. The fact is that architecture is so vast and varied that there is a prototype for almost anything we build, and certainly for mansions exactly like yours. As you said about your pediment, the tendency is always to build something that works, and of course real builders have always done that too. Its just that in my own builds my preference is for 'stylistically correct' architecture even if that means wrestling with some awkward Lego challenges. By 'stylistically correct' I simply mean deriving from buildings generally regarded as superlative examples of their style, like the ones I hyperlinked in my previous post. Whereas other people want to be much more experimental in their MOCs or just have fun or build something they'd like to live in themselves. Anyway Vanbrugh broke the rules all the time; just look at this thing (its just up the road from where I live actually). And what really matters is that we enjoy our own builds and admiring other people's. That house from Brickshelf that you hyperlinked is gorgeous, I totally love it! The frieze is especially clever. Is it one of your own MOCs? But square leaded mullion windows like that suggest an earlier period; Queen Anne buildings generally have rectangular sash windows. Though as I said, none of that really matters! -

Yes, awesome is right, such skill in such a tiny scale! I don't know how you've done those sails, but they are just wonderful, as is the rigging. I look forward to seeing the Whiffo/Nordau confrontation soon...

[COR-FB3 May] The launch of the Phlogisphere
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To Thaddeus Lupus Dated this 4th day of May in the 616th year After Empire Sir, I am delighted to hear of your latest application of Phlogiston to flight. You may have heard that Alberti De Pontelli has recently carried out similar experiments and has conducted a manned flight of his own, but sadly failed to go anywhere due to a lack of wind. Thanks to the generous support of Lady Norrington, Mr Janszen and myself have been continuing our own experiments on the beach here at Port Raleigh. We believe that Major Howard may have devised a most ingenious solution to the problem of steering the phlogisphere. I look forward to hearing more developments on this fascinating project as your experiments continue, and I will keep you informed of my own work. Your servant, in affectionate friendship, Mr Hawksbrugh -
To Alberto De Pontelli Dated this 4th day of May in the 616th year After Empire Sir, I am delighted to hear of your latest application of Phlogiston to flight. I trust that no cats were hurt in the making of this production? You may have heard that Thaddeus Lupus has recently carried out similar experiments and has conducted a manned flight, sadly ending in the sea but thankfully without casualties. Thanks to the generous support of Lady Norrington, Mr Janszen and myself have been continuing our own experiments on the beach here at Port Raleigh. We believe that Major Howard may have devised a most ingenious solution to the problem of steering the ballhover, which we are now trialling. In fact we rather prefer the term 'Phlogisphere' suggested by Thaddeus Lupus. I look forward to hearing more developments on this fascinating project as your experiments continue, and I will keep you informed of my own work. 'Murder Most Fowl!' as my wife always says, confusing, as she often does, homicide with chicken slaughter. 'Something rotten in the State of Eslandola', as my wife never says. 'Building an arch using SNOT? That's disgusting!' as my wife would probably say if she had the slightest interest in BOBS. 'That's enough of your ridiculous ramblings, come and do the washing up' as my wife always says...so...er...see you later then...

(This letter is one of several in a package of confidential communications recently intercepted by an Oleon agent. The naval code used was successfuly deciphered by Oleon's top code breaker.) To Lord Woodbrose Dated this 4th day of May in the 616th year After Empire Sir, I am becoming increasingly worried by the current rapid growth in Oleander sea power in these waters. In the past week alone, reports have reached me that no fewer than four new commisions have been spotted around the Far Islands, these have been identified by our agents as: The Fear Mouse The Gal' At Sea The Meaty Oar The Tureen The Gal' At Sea seems to be of a new class especially built for speed. The Fear Mouse is small but well armed and quick, and able to sail undetected by all except the most vigilant eyes. The Tureen, while most oddly named, also seems to be an experimental build, a latteen-rigged pinnace. The Fear Mouse and The Tureen are most attractive, seaworthy and sturdy ships, I have seen them myself from afar. I beleve this new squadron may be under the command of The Duke of Usc, some times known as John Deere. What this build up of the Oleon fleet and these new experimental classes of ship may foretell I cannot be sure, but we must maintain the highest levels of vigilance across our colonies in these worrying times. I remain, sir, your most humble servant, Major Howard, Military Attache to the Far Islands. God save the Queen!

(This letter one of several in a package of confidential communications recently intercepted by an Oleon agent) To Lord Woodbrose Dated this 4th day of May in the 616th year After Empire Sir, I have recently received intelligence that the Oleanders have completed a fine stone fort at Breshaun, called Fort Abrasive or some such. The engraving I have seen looks most impressive, with strong, sloped walls backed with earth, numerous guns of varying calibres and a strong garrison. This certainly adds greatly to the defences of the port. However it seems they have not realised that in the age of gunpowder artillery the high stone tower is an anachronism. High towers povide an excellent aiming point for artillery and will be rapidly reduced to rubble by naval or land bombardment. Hopefully they will continue in their deluded belief that the high tower still has a role in modern wafare, and continue to waste resources on building them rather than on the much more sophisticated, though less visually impressive, sloped ramparts below. I remain, sir, your most humble servant, Major Howard, Military Attache to the Far Islands. God save the Queen!

Great ships, with those lines they look like they are really built for speed! Great use of the Ollie colour scheme too. I think its fine to argue that the bowsprit is an 'experimental innovation' on these new style super fast vessels. Just one problem though, there doesn't seem to be any crew, only marine gunners! I don't think your photo shopped pictures do your vessels many favours, it makes them look like they are in the sky, maybe that's how they got their names? Your latter pictures are much better for showing off your ships. Corrington will have to work hard to keep up!

[ESL] Class 5T Prince Fernando
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love the variety of ships on here, going for a 16th century rather than 18th century look is great. I can imagine Drake or Cortes on there somewhere. I love the smooth lines you have acheived throughout and the gold/green colour scheme. Lovely new figurehead, great sails...all in all this is one of my favourits ships on BoBS. I hope you have better luck with her than with her sister! -
[SR-FB2 Apr] The Golden Dragon
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
'Warp factor 3 Captain Sulu' Nice to see some different style ships on here. As you may have noticed from my 'Dastardly Attack on Port Raleigh' build, I like this Oriental style (it is of course Occidental in BoBS world!). I would have liked to have seen a few more Oriental/Occidental crew, but maybe they have hired a local crew for this ship? Looking at some prototype images, unlike Bregir I think the very high stern is fine and the masts and sails are good, but in future junk builds I would encourage you to have more height at the front and generally a more 'oriental' appearance if you have the parts. The Golden Dragon seems more like a hybrid of Western and Eastern styles, but maybe that's what you were aiming for? -
[COR - FB] "Golden Filly" 5F Schooner
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hold on, that's two great ships posted in a row, right? You are really spoiling us...and giving a great boost to Corrington too. I like how different this ship is to the other one, they are similar in size but this one is much more trade than military, and a nice colour shceme too. Lovely stern cabin, I like the wings! One thing I don't see, although maybe it is obscured; a filly figurehead, which would be nice. Again, great masts and sails and nice crew posing. I don't know much about ships, but I like what I see! How about a photo of both your new ships sailing together? -
[COR - FB] Captured Ship, El Bellos, 5LA
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great ship Wolfie, less 'piratey' and more 'historical' than many on here which I like. Great use of Corrington colour scheme. Superb work on the sails; I think many other builds on BoBS have too little canvas. The stern davits and jolly boat are a great feature, though they'll need to be careful with those stern guns! I also like the way you have set it out as an inspection by the new captain. I hope he finds everything 'all ship shape and Bristol fashion'; I did! -
[ESL-FB] Governor’s Mansion
Fuzzy MacFuzz replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build Captain, gives Hawksbrugh something to aspire too...though he is a little less Queen Anne style, and a little more Baroque. Loads to admire here; colour scheme, roof, facade, quoins (I'm a big fan of Lego quoins!!), fountain, colonial atmosphere, pavement, aerial view, carriage, uncle... Just a couple of technical points (if you care for such things); for a true Queen Anne style house the pediment should be lower and broader and the cupola higher, and there should maybe be a couple of prominent chimneys on the roof line; see for example the Governor's House at Williamsburg, Belton (Lincolnshire UK) or Clarendon House (London)
