When do you consider a MOC "complete"?

If it's an alternate build : when you run out of parts. -
For 2014, that's amazing, even the helicopter looks great.

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
For 2022 I really wonder what style the Submarine will have, since it's not the smallest set, I hope it's somewhat more sci-fi . I don't expect military style submarines from LEGO, but a sub with a conning tower like this would already be something that hasn't been made in a while, and the shaping could be a lot better compared to this 2005 version. Even if it ends up being yellow, it's still not an issue, as it could be combined with the 2015/2020 City parts, if it's not yellow, I hope for more darker colors with transparent accents, something like this , I always thought this looked a bit shark like, a basking/whale shark with open mouth, at least on this picture angle. -

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)

I just finished 31117 and it's lovely. I kind of forgot 80020: White Dragon Horse Jet exists, probably one of the better Space-ish sets of 2021 especially in terms of Angled parts. Will probably pick it up next time LEGO.com has some offer for holiday seasons.- 991 replies

I hope LEGO does more sets like 80020: White Dragon Horse Jet , such a good set by itself, and I like that this one focused on angled design.

Just starting with some 2021 regular sets : 60276: Police Prisoner Transport , Black Hat, Pearl Dark Grey Aviator Cap + Dark Grey goggles. 60295: Stunt Show Arena has the Reddish Brown Cap And beside the entire wildlife theme , there's the epitome of adventure here, with a hybrid Adventurers/Indiana Jones Magazine gift in some countries, figure is more indy, chest/magnifyer/scorp is more like one of the small adventurers sets. Gravis from 71735: Tournament of Elements could act like an oriental character, as seen in 7418: Scorpion Palace And then there is the rest of Ninjago, Islander theme figures could be used as jungle tribe, or just the masks/shields for something more classic, and then the underwater subtheme for more atlantean adventuring.

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Late to the subject, but also just built 31117 , it's almost the same length , and same wingspan of the 2017 31066 , which I already loved a lot, I haven't built alternates yet, but Moon lander looks like a nice optional build as well, and the way the colors are hidden inside the models is pretty clever, the 3rd model I can see either as a display on the main white side, or just a good playset rocket. So far one of my favorite 2021 sets next to the Castle and Blacksmith. -

Just built the Rocket Racer, works surprisingly well for such a small bike, flywheel has a lot of power. -
I wonder when the 2021 review results will be, I assume its taking a little longer because of 57 projects is a giant number to review. Last year results came 30 september, but that had 26 projects.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Well, so far, LEGO is somewhat keeping up with making a set 1 year, and then expanding it to an entire theme later the next half to 1 year. This is pure speculation but : 2018 Ski Helicopter --> 2019 (winter) snow groomer > 2019 (September) Ski Resort 2019 Diving Yacht --> 2020 Diving subtheme 2020 Stunt Team / Monster Truck --> 2021 Stuntz 2020 Safari Off-Roader --> 2021 Safari subtheme 2021 Tractor --> 2022 (winter) Horse Transporter --> 2022 (Summer) Farm ??? (speculation) 2021 Beach ATV Rescue --> 2022 Beach Rescue station 2022 Mobile Crane --> ??? Construction ??? (speculation) Not every single vehicle ends up as a subtheme, but this is just what happened in the past 3 years. Currently would be a good time for Farm, with the pig, sheep, horse , cow horn in production, as well as the newer tractor tires if they want to have another tractor/harvester type set. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah I looked up those toys, not sure how big they were in Europe, but the later Trials games did have some of that evil knievel influences in some of their games with a stars and stripes rider outfit, and bikes/monster trucks and flaming hoops on some courses. There was a Commodore 64 game called Kikstart 2 I played a lot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikstart_2 back then, and later found out there was a "Kickstart" TV program in the UK where they did similar thing but in real life. (even had the same intro sound track tune as the game) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kick_Start_(TV_series) (VHS quality episodes/fragments could still be found on Youtube) -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
If LEGO and Blizzard are still partners , I can still see potential in a Warcraft line of sets, I don't think it would directly compete with Harry Potter in terms of Castle. Not sure what other games could be made into games, Fortnite might be the closest to a cartoon violence (like Overwatch), other games like League of Legends involve characters are probably more suitable for CMF. (I play neither, just thinking what could be possible) Minecraft already exists in terms of construction/survival, Mario in terms of Platformer. Racing games might compete too much with Speed Champions unless it's done like Mario Kart. I'm not sure how LEGO would do Action-RPG genre sets. If it's something Original In-House I'd like to see more Dungeon type sets like Season 13 Ninjago, where the dungeon sets could form a game board. A Viking Survival game like Valheim could also be awesome in LEGO form (could have different sets for each biome + a player-made base/structure, and a viking ship) and shouldn't be too violent for it, it doesn't have modern weapons, but since it's early access with a small dev team I don't see it happen. -
Action and Adventure Themes Discussion

I used to collect those City mags , but it seems since 2020, Netherlands they changed from 12 to 6 issues per year , so now not all listed magazine gifts (listed on brickset for example) actually are released here anymore- 232 replies

Same thing happening on European Amazon, suggestions with alternate brands, it seems almost all of them are sold/sent from alternative sellers instead of Amazon themselves however. I never bought a Star Wars set but it started to suggest all sorts or large scale "Star Wars" builds without official branding. Still to me there are 3 categories of off brand: Brands that have Official and have the actual licenses (for example MEGA having Warcraft / Pokemon / HALO / Masters of Universe etc) . The other category being the more disputable things that are either seem to be "copies" of LEGO Sets or MOCs, in case of MOCs it's even harder to identify if the design was bought/stolen/permission, in case of sets, it's usually even a very similar box art. Usually sets like some x-in-1 firetruck/police car/construction vehicle that can be made into multiple things, and then some dioramas, display pieces etc, but usually not of a big known off-brand so I don't know the quality, again, usually if on amazon, they aren't sold by amazon themselves but 3rd party sellers.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
The more I look at it, the more I like the Stuntz sets. And the more I read about them, the more I see this isn't an instant failure like the pull-cord helicopters from 2020. I played a lot of the Trials video games (motorcycles with ramps and jumps) mainly since they came to PC, so this is the closest it'll get in a LEGO form. Surprisingly the panels in 60293: Stunt Park are printed as well. -
Set number seems a bit off , Creator expert sets are like 102xx, and this is 129xx ?

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
The Scorpion/Treasure/Magnifying Glass can be compared to that Adventurers set from 1998, and then if you compare the Face, Hat, and Jacket+Bag, it's more like LEGO Indiana Jones from 2008. I don't think LEGO just randomly put those pieces together without thinking about those 2 LEGO themes of the past. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Just saw this on brickset, LEGO going full adventurers nostalgia here with the scorpion and magnifying glass , or perhaps a bit of a hybrid, with an in-house Indiana jones (the beard and hat and bag) Big throwback to 1998 : -
I guess making more sets, more large, sets, and more limited/exclusive sets helps their growth a lot. Not that I like the fact that even City , Creator 3-in-1, and other inhouse themes are trending toward more sets exclusive to LEGO.com only (varies per country but I'm speaking NL)
-
If it means the end of weird €5-€20 differences it's likely an improvement for the already expensive countries. To be fair, the price on 31120 Castle going to €120 isn't even that bad if it means it will be sold outside of LEGO.com and likely gets discount to offset it (Pirate Ship has been seen at €65 at times and that's a €100 set), right now the set 31120 being pretty much exclusive means it's pretty much full price regardless, however if nothing changes in terms of distribution, then yes, it's a straight up 20% price bump that makes no sense. (again, 31120 exclusivity seems to vary a lot per country, and while some retailers are selling it outside of LEGO.com, it almost feels they aren't allowed to lower the price much currently) 1 glance at the prices page on Brickset will show weird differences across the board, that aren't consistent at all , and its not just the same countries every time. Overall, I think time is needed to see how it will even out in terms of decrease/increase, but it certainly will vary per country. Why is 80020: White Dragon Horse Jet €45 in Netherlands , Belgium (+5€ ), but not France Why is 80022: Spider Queen's Arachnoid Base + €10 in Netherlands, Belgium , but this time does include France. Why is 21325: Medieval Blacksmith €150 in Germany, Austria , Italy , but €160 in France, Spain , and €170 in Belgium, Netherlands ? Inconsistency all over the place, but mainly Netherlands/Belgium the most affected by higher prices (just using what's listed at Brickset, it doesn't list everything, but I heard Finland, which do use Euro is often affected by even higher prices) LEGO does say Western Europe, so I imagine it will mostly mean Netherlands/France/Belgium/Germany will be standardized equal Euro prices, not sure how it will affect central or Southern Europe which still do use Euro , but median income isn't the same across the entire Eurozone. Back in 2018, this set was one of the most extreme : 75203: Hoth Medical Chamber $30 in US , 35 in UK , but €40 , €45 or even €50 in Euro countries , that's not just a few percent difference but almost double. I won't get into more US vs Europe, as I know the typical $30 US vs €20 is the case for many City sets, or €30 vs $20 US is typically happening quite a lot on Licensed themes, but just pointing it out the price differences aren't 1 way so not a simple math of VAT being added in the Euro price, while usually added after in US and varies per state I believe. Overall, gotta see where 2022 pricing will end up, and what sets will actually go DOWN in price.

How does Lego figure out sets prices?
TeriXeri replied to metalgeekzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
41935: Lots of DOTS - 1040 pieces £17.99 / $19.99 / 19.99€ With spares included thats almost 1100 pieces. Just shows that set price per piece should not be used to measure "value" just based on number of pieces. Or for a very "Big" set in a similar category of mosaic. 31203: World Map - 11695 pieces £229.99 / $249.99 / 249.99€ "Slightly" higher ppp (2.1c vs 1.9c), but it also has 40 of those 16x16 "bricks" , which of course are much bigger/heavier compared to a simple 1x1 tile. -
Why does Playmobil still have Historic themes, but not LEGO?
TeriXeri replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think LEGO is actually following into Playmobil's footsteps in terms of including more and different animals lately, Playmobil had safari animals for decades, sold under wildlife, zoo, circus or just seperately, LEGO didn't have most moulded Lions, Bears , Tigers until only like 10 years ago. (Some exceptions for larger animals being the 2000 Polar Bear, 2003 Elephant, and various Water animals like Croc/Octopus/Shark/Sawfish/Dolphin/Octopus from mostly the 90s , shark being from 1989) I don't see LEGO making sets with just animals however , even while a set like this is technically possible with current production parts: -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A thing I'd be interested in would be a 3-in-1 but then in regular Modular size, for an anniversary modular that'd be a very cool concept imo. I don't think it would "force" people to buy 3, since it's a personal choice how things are collected/displayed.
