  1. with 77943 and 77944 being not part of the typical city numbers, I wonder if it's meant to be something like a "Legacy" umbrella theme instead. 77943 including multiple things from multiple past sets could be fairly interesting to see where it'll lead.
  2. Starter firestation is a nice expansion to 60215: Fire Station , basicly another garage + floor, also should be a cheaper option compared to 77944 (i already have 60215)
  3. LEGO might re-issue some older sets in other colors next year. So far rumoured sets are : 3-in-1 : 31058 Mighty Dinosaurs - 2017 - 2 new versions would be darkblue/lightyellow and brown/darktan City : 60110 Fire Station - 2016 - New version has the style of the 2019-now Fire sets, with more light yellow, different logo and red helmets. 10271: Fiat 500 - 2020 - New version would be some type of light blue , could be medium azure, or light blue , color wasn't 100% confirmed for the VW bus , ended up being medium azure while being lighter at first. https://brickset.com/article/63066/more-revised-sets-coming-soon So far those recolors seem to be seperate from their main set lines, being 77940-77944 77943 incorporates multiple elements of other sets, like the buggy from 60247: Forest Fire , the electric cabinet from 60231: Fire Chief Response Truck and a smaller garage firestation build in the style of 60215: Fire Station
  4. Ty for the suggestion , that one is certainly great, but it's pretty low priority right now, I think I might get the 2016 re-released fire station first if the re-release/recolor ends up happening.
  5. Typically for 3-in-1 sets I wait for discounts but so far summer 2021 has a bit less discount compared to previous release seasons, and sets like the Aquarium/Castle are far more limited with little to no discount.
  6. I agree the set is very unique, the printed wood parts and dolphins are a great bonus beside the awesome ship design, I actually love the brick sails. For me was a good reason to finally get 31120.
  7. I've been waiting on this set to go on discount for a while, which hasn't happened in nearly 3 months, but with the sailboat GWP ,I do have 2 sets now and built 1 of them so far and don't regret it, this set has it's value for sure. I love this MOD , the multi-layered builds are great, but long-term, I think I'll go for a wider approach instead of taller, also planning to downscale the Medieval Blacksmith set and use it's parts for walls/forts and some smaller single-floor houses, maybe a different take on Guarded Inn / Medieval Market Village, I don't plan to build very large scale/modular sizes. 31120 to me is among the best sets of the last few years, and one of the best parts packs, I still don't mind the yellow, as the other colors are well balanced around it, sets always have some flaws, and this one could use more figs and horses but I hope LEGO doesn't stop here. Currently I've been experimenting turning the second set into something styled after 7079: Drawbridge Defense which I never got (I still have the original 6078: Royal Drawbridge but I keep old (20+ year) LEGO seperated)
  8. Sky Police was actually not too bad imo the armored truck, helicopter, and jet sets were pretty good designs, LEGO doesn't do "military" vehicles that often (beside Chinook/Sea-Knight styled helicopters even way back in Town), and sky police did come fairly close with it's Apache/Cobra type helicopter, Armored truck and generic Jet. Other option in LEGO would be stunt/rescue vehicles like they made a F-22/SU-57 type of stunt jet this year. Weakest point was the "air base" set, mostly being about a hollow plane and not a nice building. Of course I prefer a location focused Police style of sets, and I wouldn't mind a re-releases of Forest HQ, Prison Island HQ in modern figures/colors, LEGO can use a proper Police Station again, the 2020 version just doesn't appeal to me. Now, I know it's not City, but if there will be more recolors, I still hope for recolors of some 3-in-1 houses/shops.
  9. 2017 dinosaur set potentially re-releasing as darkblue and brown variants is pretty cool, hope it sets up something for more recolored 3-in-1 sets as it's my favorite theme , and recolored parts are nice in a generic theme like 3-in-1.
  10. 2016 Fire Station possibly re-releasing with some modifications is pretty cool, the changes make it compatible with the 2019 sets as well, same logo and light yellow colors. I never got the original 2016 fire station, but this modification could fit very well combined with the 2019-2021 sets.
  11. There was 5600: Radio Control Racer in 1998, but it's not Technic, but rather a studded RC Car chassis, with 5 different available builds on top.
  12. I've seen beat boxes go down as much as 50%, regular sets about 33% .
  13. Enchanted Island from 1994 had a similar function with the bridge, set also has a crocodile so you could put some danger beneath the bridge.
  14. While the current LEGO police color scheme certainly has some common look with the german Polizei in terms of yellow stripes, I still hope one day LEGO will actually make a neon yellow color, that's as bright as the Coral color. Neon yellow Ambulance or Air Ambulance in a set could look pretty cool as well. Other then that, Police Livery colors still vary a lot across Europe and the EU, many countries don't even use yellow for their police cars at all. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Police_cars_by_country
  15. Double unpopular opinion : I do not like the Vidyo CMF/Bandmates (due to the way they are distributed). However I do actually like the Stage sets (on discount).
  16. Taiga instead of jungle could be interesting, it's still forest themed, and would fit with a potential arctic wave. Still has lots of potential animals as well, and kids should know (snowy) Taiga/Mega Taiga from Minecraft and such.
  17. Could be interesting if summer 2022 subtheme was a mix of Arctic and Forest, since most pine Taiga forests have snowy climate in winter and border tundras/glaciers.
  18. My "dark ages" started around 2001, other interests and LEGO's decline for a while (Bionicle/Star Wars weren't my big interests, but I did have most Slizers from 1999-2000 beside the 2 big ones) made me not care too much about toys, and video games were in a rapid developing era, and internet at the time wasn't yet mainstream enough to be considered the main source of LEGO info/sales. LEGO also had a few year break from themes like Town / Castle / Space , and 2001-2004 was a major time for the then highly discussed Warcraft franchise (Warcraft 3 / World of Warcraft), I still love the franchise, just not the current state of the video games. If LEGO ever did a Warcraft theme I'd be interested, not in all this microtransaction video game/mounts and such they do nowadays. Came back to LEGO when rebuilding old sets around 2015, and then looked up upcoming themes and saw Nexo Knights for 2016, and after that ended, mostly switched to City/3-in-1.
  19. I like that this site offers option to scale down linked images (double click on them when posting) For example , this is the same image linked from Brickset in 50 - 100 - 150 pixel resize (the original is 1024 wide and you can still click on it to view it). For quick uploads I usually post at imgur, but I don't really use that for albums/long term storage.
  20. Right now the Briclink Studgate is the only known future train set, but even if it does get crowdfunded this year, it will take a while to actually be shipped, I don't think a set like that would ever be made in mass by LEGO otherwise. There's the large IDEAS voting round with some trains, but even there I expect those products to be moved to Bricklink rather then be picked out of the 50+ projects. 2022 City trains are very likely as the 4 year pattern has been consistent for a long time.
  21. A lot of unlicensed exclusive set fall under 3-in-1 (Castle/Aquarium) and City (Car Transporter/Shopping Street) nowadays, exclusive as in , almost not sold outside of LEGO.com, and discounts even less so.
  22. I think this is more likely, 2021 Tractor , to 2022 farm something, Horse trailer just adds to that. 2019 had a Snow Groomer and the Ski Resort at the end of that year, so Horse Trailer could still lead to something like a 1-off farm location set. And then also 2021 had a Beach Rescue ATV , 2022 has a rescue helicopter, and a lifeguard post, I still think that might be the 2022 version of Coast Guard, since Police already has a big boat, and there's the 2021 set with the seaside mission. At most, I think if there's something Arctic, it'd be a research vessel/icebreaker as there wasn't one in 2018.
  23. Right now, for 3-in-1 in my country, the new Castle and Aquarium are, and the Crocodile (not the train) is also still limited but has bigger % discount. As for City, the 2020 Police Brick Box, the Safari Jeep, the Mail Plane were exclusive as well, and for 2021 the Car Transporter, Police Boat and Shopping Street, LEGO seems to have the put some rules on discount there, because if they are sold outside of LEGO.com there are either no or very small discounts only. As for other themes like IDEAS/18+/Winter village and such, also seems to be a rule of maximum 15% discount, after a certain period of LEGO.com exclusivity. The other City/3-in-1 sets appeared much wider since their launch, and that means 20%+ discount on those isn't rare. It's hard to compare countries, as each country has different store chains and web shops, but in the last 5 years I bought 99% of my LEGO online. Also prices still can vary a lot, even just western europe, prices between Netherlands/Germany/Belgium/France etc can vary €5,€10 or even €20 for the same sets which is kind of odd, it's not just the difference in VAT%. As for theme competition, Ninjago having good prices to begin with, and then fairly large discounts on top, makes it a hard competitor for Monkie Kid's full prices.
  24. Low sales wouldn't surprise me , full price for multiple waves of sets just isn't going to cut it against other sets/themes that have for me. And full price doesn't just mean 100% retail price, but also shipping costs, and other things, sure LEGO.com has VIP which effectively mean 5-10% off , and GWP , but those are hard to compare to themes that can get up to 30-40% off. Even if Price per part is good , I feel that measure is used too easily to determine value. No low price sets to really impulse buy/army build either. It's kind of annoying that LEGO exclusives are happening in City and Creator 3-in-1 now too.
  25. I actually do like the color use, overall the vidyo candy characters mostly are focused on sweets and not fruit. I can imagine if there would be a Fairy Folk stage, it would probably have more green tints. Candy mermaid tail was made out of waffle and icecream torso, there's a icecream head person with choco sauce/torso and waffle pants, cotton candy cheerleader , and 2 transparent gummi bear like figs. At discount , I like this set better then the Car, but then again, the Car is a better starting point for MOC if you're into vehicles and robots.
