LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
It certainly looks like a cheese yellow https://brickset.com/parts/colour-Flame-Yellowish-Orange . I think the bricklink name of Bright Light Orange is more appropriate, as it's basicly very slightly more orange compared to Bright Yellow. The name Bright Light Orange also sets it apart from Bright Light Yellow (the color of the 2019 Fire and 2020 Police sets) There was a Medium Orange color that looked more like orange cheddar but that color hasn't been used for 10 years. But even so , LEGO colors vary a lot on screens/photos compared to the real bricks , or even depending on lighting. -

Tram looks normal yellow to me, when compared to the pieces hanging between the trees, which are bright light orange I think. I think the Limo has a bright light orange stripe as well. But the corn suit/station/tram/fences/coffee mug look normal yellow. Difference is subtle, and on some pictures it's still hard to see. https://www.promobricks.de/lego-60271-city-main-square-presale/106044/ -
I agree, the €20 series of food trucks so far were great (Pizza / Ice Cream) . I'd still like to see food related buildings but they can better put those in 3-in-1, and then have 3 different shops The 3-in-1 Burger truck main build was decent, but the alternate builds were not worthy the 3-in-1 label, and it was a €50 set. The upside of 3-in-1 buildings also is bigger value out of a set, no need to include vehicles for "action", and overall, I like 3-in-1 buildings a lot more compared to the simpler City builds in terms of parts, especially now that City went 5+/6+ buildings simplified a lot. I also love the smaller Friends series of buildings that might not see the light in city as easily (juice bar, fashion shop, waffle shop etc.), €20-30 sets with decent value, even tho they are a bit more City like in design with panels and stickers, they still make fun sets, with a different approach.

Where should the next People at the ____ take place?
TeriXeri replied to legoman19892's topic in LEGO Town
This year's City Advent Calendar doesn't really have any conflict with a people pack imo, it's just LEGO City Adventurers characters and microscale builds However, I'd still say that the 2019 City Calendar however was basicly a mini-people pack, as it had both the generic people (6 people + santa) and the minifig scale builds. -
As I already mentioned in City 2020 , if there's a regular forest subtheme of City this would be nice to see as new parts : Deer / Moose / Reindeer in a Forest(men) theme. A Seal or Sealion with the Coastguard theme. Maybe a new tall pine tree variant to be used in a Pine Forest setting , similar size to the old Cypress. Would love to see more tree colors as well, bright green, dark green, light orange, sand blue or white. New colors or parts for cars in transparent to allow different designs (would also benefit Speed Champions)

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I know there are differences in plastic types, so I do understand the point, like there are parts only made in solid color, that'd otherwise might look nice as car headlights etc if transparent. But this is turning a bit into wishlisting so I'll move it here : https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/9448-ideas-for-new-city-sets -

Ideas for new Lego themes! (Non-licensed)
TeriXeri replied to The lego fan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree, it could be nice, a bit like the Nexo Knight sea monster concept, but without the high-tech vehicles. https://nexoknights.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Sea_Monsters Could also have them visit islands and such and see other mythical figures there. https://nexoknights.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Forest_Monsters -

A Forest setting would also give them a chance to use this in a normal color , as explorers sets have some animals in them usually. -
Are "Big Bang Themes" a Bad Strategy?
TeriXeri replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Same here. I got the Enchanted Island set in 1994, but didn't know the leader was named King Kahuka until I played the LEGO Racers game which came out 5 years later on Nintendo 64. To me, they were mostly resembling Easter Island people as those statues of big heads are in books or documentaries. -

I'd hope so, but Nexo Knights also had a forestmen robot character , complete with 1x1 printed forestmen tile. 2018 train was the more orange variant of yellow (Bright Light Orange / Flame Yellowish Orange) https://brickset.com/parts/6226707/train-front-no-1 -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Pirates of Barracuda Bay is 1600 DKK in Denmark, which would convert to €215, but if you lower that by around 4% , you end up at the €200 price in NL, and that same set is €194 in Germany since they recently lowered german VAT by another 3% (9% lower then Denmark) But I get your point, in other cases, set prices can sometimes vary a lot, which can't be explained on different VAT rates Often prices get rounded up or down, but even then, doesn't explain why something like the Cargo Train is €10 more expensive in France etc. I keep bringing up 2018 75203 Hoth Medical Chamber as an extreme example, $30 set costing either €40, €45, or even €50 in some Euro countries, but many €20 City sets can cost $30 in US somehow. Anyhow, not really a City discussion anymore. -

I wouldn't count on that, $200 is more realistic -

Denmark has 25% VAT, Netherlands has 21%, which would make it €180, Germany has 16% (19% originally but now lowered during Covid) could possibly make the price around €170. -

1400 DKK = €188 = US $221 Seems to be way more expensive then what's shown, unless that monorail is a brick-built overpass instead of just artwork. -

Less then 50 to go, so premature congratulations, but congratulations nonetheless! 10k is 10k. -
Maybe the idea came from the Northpole.com website, which has an Elf Clubhouse page, which says "This is the place all the elves come to rest, relax and play games after a hard day’s work making toys. "

TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
That's a great set for sure. But my main concerns are: Is the "Monorail track" real or just painted on the box? (false advertising?). Price 1399 DKK = €188, so probably €200 set -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
TeriXeri replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Still wonder if LEGO will make anything Blizzard Entertainment related in the future. Not even certain if Overwatch is coming back, but I'd still love to see Warcraft location/action sets, maybe some sets from before World of Warcraft timeline, to differentiate from Megabloks a bit. Also could fit in the Steampunk or Pirates genre with some of the lore. Of course Castle, Dwarves , Dragons, Orcs, Humans, Elves, Trolls would be the core.- 451 replies

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
TeriXeri replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Those 2x2x5 quarter circle walls are quite interesting. Not a new part but really didn't pay attention to that part as I never had a set with it, also isn't a very common part, despite having quite a lot of colors by now. But Tan still is a new color for it, so at the very least compatible with anything Hogwarts related. -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Looked up the sticker sheets on bricklink, Castle(2 sheets), Prison or Submarine , none of those have extra bonus stickers. Fire Truck and Race Car have no parts listed yet. -
If it's Elf related could be fun, minifig Santa Elf just look so much better compared to those weird 2020 Friends Calendar "Microdolls". Also, I said this before, about 2 months ago, but from me, it was a random guess from the 2020 keychain, showing the Elf parts are still being manufactured. Red Elf hat would also be a different color, that made me wonder even more. The part is on bricklink, but it hasn't appeared in sets :https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=13787pb02 Also quite fun that in the Dutch/Belgium LEGO Masters, some builds did use "Kabouters" putting red cones on minifigure heads. Red pointy hats would make great use for Kabouters based on Rien Poortvliet's book, or the Television cartoon "David de Kabouter" / (David the Gnome) popular in the 80s/90s. Add a white beard, blue torso , and some dual-molded legs for boots.

Well, if it's just affecting EU seller fees (3% + VAT ) as @MAB mentioned, then my posts were wrong, and it's a lot smaller change compared to the US Tax change.
-
If that's all that's changing for EU to EU sales, that's not too bad then. Non-EU to EU sales were already subject to extra VAT when buying something that cost €10-€22 (depending on EU country) , so already unfavored unless the purchase was really small. But then the paradox is that small overseas packages are still inefficient because shipping rates has risen quite a lot in recent years.

The Fortress - Imperial Army reached 10000 , congratulations @Piraten Seagull Bay Lighthouse Imperial Fortress by @Delusion Brick is almost at 10000, 50 to go!. So that makes 3 Pirate related sets with Caribbean Clipper
