That's a lovely Sailboat set, I even love the brick-built sails, don't often see those multiple stacked white triangle slopes used in a set outside of a Star Wars shuttle Even nicer if it includes those 2 dolphins and seagull.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Pictures of 2019 Ski Resort appeared 20 July 2019 and that was a September release, so we'll probably might see some info in 2-3 weeks, maybe sooner unofficially. -
Looks like a cool set to somehow motorize and use in something like a garden swimming pool, to make use of the floating hulls. Also a nice set or template for a seaport layout, could turn in to 2 ships as well. Personally I'd rather get the 2020 underwater base, and use the 2019 Diving Yacht as I don't have a large layout, and there are some nice Pirate Ship options with the 2020 Barracuda Bay and Creator sets.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
TeriXeri replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
In 2019 City had a September set appear out of nothing until close to reveal last year with the Ski Resort, and now there's still a rumored City Square type set as well, probably September 2020 as well, while we also already know 3 more City smaller sets are August releases. Even the City Airport and Divers sets were set as seperate June and July releases in some countries catalogs and not being 1 big wave. So sets don't always come in strict waves. -
On one hand I don't mind the changes of subject/theme as it adds variation. On the other hand, when there's a theme like the current Dungeon and Dragon vibe I really like, there won't be more sets With Legacy out there however, going to 1 year themes would be nice. Still, 2020 has more actual sets compared to 2019 which had a lot more spinners.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

A Foundry does sound interesting for sure, if it's a mostly location based set I'm very interested. Sounds like a fold-out playset that can be on wheels but still won't judge before pics. -
Many large sets are/were sold out due to lowered production due to Covid. Most of the backorder in Europe is back in stock again but the US region is still affected due to the Mexico Factory being closed longer.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah if it sells and is still produced, no reason to make another one yet, from 2008 a Mobile command centre has been sold basicly non stop, with 2011 , 2014, and 2017 updating the set after a 3 year run. Wouldn't surprise me to see a new one in 2021 tho, Dark Blue color scheme could set it apart from the others. -
I'd always prefer people packs over any form of CMF.

Well, the Farm theme is sort of here again via a seasonal Halloween set : https://brickset.com/sets/40423-1/Halloween-Hayride It isn't City but the tractor and yellow grille-brick haybales could be used in a farm scene. Based on the box art and piece count, I assume this will be sold at LEGO.com for £11.99 / $12.99 / 12.99€ (same price as the 2020 Birthday and Trophy sets) Of course I'd still love the see an actual farm theme for City, with multiple cow/pig/goat/sheep/horses included.

Also on brickset now , with many images. https://brickset.com/sets/41258-1/Vibe-City-Concert -
A new Halloween set appeared, so LEGO is making more seasonal sets with minifigures again (after the smaller easter bunny chicken/scooter set earlier this year) 40423-1: Halloween Hayride https://brickset.com/sets/40423-1/Halloween-Hayride Based on the box art, this could be a directly sold set at LEGO.com. (same box art style as the 2020 Birthday or Trophy sets which cost £11.99 / $12.99 / 12.99€ )

The 2016 and 2017 christmas-build-up versions were initially GWP, but eventually sold for €9.99 at LEGO.com in 2018/2019 so I wonder if this will end up being sold sometime as well.

All I can say is I hope it releases soon for everyone. But I don't know if those sets were to release in August in the US or not. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I think it has to do with operating costs and wages, nothing to do with priority, most sets from that Mexico factory will still end up in the US. Just like many clothes bought in the US or Europe are made in Asia or Central America, or many electronics are made in Asia as well. Here's an article about the LEGO factories and plans for expansion : https://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/news/2019/november/factory-expansion/ -

The only 2021 Police Set I'd like to see is maybe an Elite Police headquarter building, or instead, a mobile base truck in that dark blue/light yellow color scheme. And then they could add a bigger version of this as well , either a Bank or Museum , then the drill vehicle at least makes some sense : Could even add a red light brick for laser defense. Still, I really think those new sets are good for €20 , especially the Helicopter/Lighthouse and Boats sets. -

TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I read the US is having some issues with supply, because the Mexico factory was closed for weeks, Europe also had some supply issues until recently, especially some of the larger sets were on backorder up towards June. Also I haven't seen a Netherlands catalog but I assume it's similar release date the Germany here, the Divers sets are listed as July 1st, and Creator 3-in-1 as well, which might explain that they haven't been available on sites like Amazon yet. They are already sold at LEGO.com and a few other sites, but maybe the July 1st is a wider release, in comparison , the Airport sets are listed as June 1st, and more shops are selling those. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
TeriXeri replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Funny, just looked at the chinese shop@home and translating it into dutch calls this theme "Goku Held" , and the monkie kid character is literally named Goku. The Mexico factory was closed for a while, on the European site, none of it is on backorder, so I think it's a lack of supply rather then selling too fast. Europe also had issues with many larger sets hitting backorders as well during the lockdown/peak period, Pirates of Barracuda Bay was on Backorder for like the entire month of May until mid-June here. -
The only real TV Show/Movie House I'd be really interested in would be Family Guy, but some of that humor is probably not appropriate unless it's a 18+ release, then again, F.r.i.e.n.d.s wasn't a kids show either. Like sure, it's great there will be another large house set that isn't a Modular, as the 3-in-1 Houses haven't been made in a while but this would really depend on the size/cost for me, but Blacksmith Shop has priority. And still for a winter themed house, I would've prefered the Winter Chalet from the same voting round but the existence of the Winter Village line makes sense it was skipped. Seinfeld was popular here too, at least it was aired for a long time on Comedy Central (Friends and Family Guy still have multiple episodes daily), I just assume it's not on TV right now as streaming services took over the rights.

LEGO's train is a Ce 6/8 II , not III, the main difference not just the color, but also the bars both of the doors instead of 1 door. Also the bars near the buffers of the locomotives on the III are upside down U shaped, and another set of straight ones, while the II just has a single set of straight bars on front. 14253 is also the famous still running brown Ce 6/8 II , if it were based on the III they'd sure would have made it darkgreen and yellow instead.

I just like the Aquarium from this selection.
-
Yeah, but beside the theme/subject, it was also a set that could prove that a 4-minifigure set can still have a decent sidebuild, in this case 2 vehicles and a robot. Of course this is only the first wave of Monkie Kid, Nexo Knights did release this in the second wave, so maybe we'll still get a bull-figure pack. Of course I'd still prefer an actual battle-pack boxed set, because a €15 battle-pack seems a bit more value compared to a €12 pack with just figures.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I think that was just for like a short time, notably Blackout Tuesday, almost 3 weeks ago, LEGO themselves even still has a Sky Police picture for City on the Themes page of LEGO.com (even the US site) As sets are designed in advance, I'd think that 2021 would be a better indicator on what really is happening in terms of new sets. -
Love the Journey set, the new sword just looks really nice , the small skull on the hilt is an excellent detail. On it's own it's a bit one-sided set, with just an orc and a spider and a lava trap vs 3 Heroes, but certainly loved the build and the orange plates and trans-orange bricks to represent lava flows coming out of the rock. It's nicely built around the BURP part, and I love the varied rockwork, and the small pieces don't inflate the price via piece count, very good value. Minifigs are great as well, the shields, weapons, and outfits, set it apart from other Ninjago waves for sure. The spinner piece/dice looks like good quality, and dual-molded looks great. Certainly planning to combine it with more sets.

REVIEW: Hidden Side 70437 Mystery Castle
TeriXeri replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Certainly looks like a proper castle, having studs to put figures on the walls , stairs to get up there, and the 2 prison make the outside more then just decoration. I did like Knighton Castle which had a courtyard that could open as well, so this has a similar feeling. With the grey/black/trans-lightblue color scheme I can certainly see this work as a place where some Nexo Knights Stone Monster villains would live as well, as the ghost colors really work with the lightning colors having the same blue tint. Figures like Lord Krakenskull or General Garg especially fit really well with those shadow walkers and Nehmar Reem.- 1 reply
