  1. I think whoever protested it needs to calm down a bit... Its a lego toy with the word 'rescue' on the side. Its not camouflage with guns. People with too much time on their hands... would it have corrupted anyone? Done any harm? Nooo. So why the drama really? There's a lunatic in charge in the white house and 200 million gun toting Americans shooting each other every day... we see atrocities from syria every day.. suicide bombers in iraq.. but a lego toy is an easy target i guess. Despite it never killing anyone. (unless all those morons with guns have got 42113 on their xmas list of course... in which case burn all the sets!!) There are far more damaging issues to address in the world than a toy... but taking on presidents and warlords risks getting shot.
  2. Build what you've got, let the pieces lead you.. the forum is full of supercars. Do something different, you've loads of wheels and diffs and gearbox bits... admittedly i find 'another' supercar less than exciting, so i might be biased, but it would be great to see some 8 wheeled mad-max style beast.. go nuts would be my advice!
  3. Very difficult to build a bike in technic at this scale.. really well done for getting this far! The chain and back brake are on the wrong sides, but its very hard at this scale..
  4. I don't think its the size... it needs a bracing arm above it. I used a steering arm with a ball joint on each end to handle the pivot and caster. Its used by Case IH in their steiger tractors and work perfectly in lego..
  5. Lego is like a wild animal, it shouldn't be 'caged' on a shelf.. thats what diecast models and airfix are for.. Lego is meant to me taken to pieces and used for moc's or mod's, to be set free with your imagination and run wild!! So with that thought(!!) and you not liking C+, leave it in the shop would be my advice.... (it i will mean more stock for me to buy one in a couple of months and give it the life it deserves!!) Agreed! Also agree... bit of a shame. Cos its a great idea to help inspire us all. Doesn't matter if its in construction or a rally car, its a launching point for idea to flow from. I've got plans for it in a tractor moc.. so it inspired me, which is great!!
  6. PU is the same connectors/motors as C+ though right? C+ is the model specific app that wraps the same physical components (or virtually the same, interchangeable motors etc) So if he's got 42099 C+ components, what does he gain from PU? Just different/smaller hub...? (I get confused myself.. work keeps me away from Lego for 3 months and i forget the subtleties of the motor eco systems!!)
  7. Brilliant!! I wasn't expecting the flashing lights and siren as i just skipped to the vid without reading!!! Ha!! Fantastic!
  8. Exactly.. Its as simple as that. When we're building for ourselves we may want to be as authentic as possible, but this set isn't an afol set.. its for kids.
  9. Agreed, i'd forgotten about that moc - its a fine example!! Still no harm in taking on a version of it...
  10. Huge bonus points for including anti roll bars! Details like this are ignored on most supercar mocs... brilliant to see!!!
  11. Now if that had been the official B model for 42082..?!! How good would that have been?! And 8 attachments... Love it!
  12. Totally agree.. i loved it in march, and seeing more detail today i'm even more impressed... some of the pics deserve a longer look as there is more going on than at first appears. Awesome!
  13. You are correct about debate, its very valuable... i think i perhaps misjudged your first comment, i apologise for that
  14. Everyone's a critic! I've seen a lot of amazing stuff from @TechnicBrickPower over the last few months, credit where its due... he's winning the gearbox section by a country mile!
  15. Just try... and try again, and keep trying.... The best part of technic is trying and figuring it out. Someone else figuring it all out for you isn't really what its all about...
  16. I love tractors! Can you post some pics of the internals.. its great to see how others have solved the problems This feels like its channelling the spirit of a Zetor Crystal - and i mean that as a compliment! Something about the styling...
  17. This is where the pleasure is for me.. trying and failing, and trying and failing.. and eventually succeeding (sometimes!) But the fun is in the challenge, persisting and not giving up.
  18. I think this is great advice.. when something is very convoluted, its probably not the best way. I prefer to build with trial and error, version after version - some prefer an electronic process - but i suspect the end goal is the same.. the word i like is elegant. I rarely achieve it!!! But thats the goal, simplify and make as efficient as possible, mechanically and the parts used... when you rebuild and everything drops into place, the sense of satisfaction is awesome. Now if only i could do that all the time i could send my job application off to TLG!!
  19. I do and it was inaccurate.. you said they don't, when in actual fact virtually all of them do... Son. ?
  20. Not true... John Deere and Fendt have twin wishbone front suspension, all other brands have some kind of front suspension too...
  21. @Sariel and the rest of this forum... if the good and helpful of this forum are driven away by the 'offended snowflake' minority then whats left isn't worth logging in for. If any member of this forum feels compelled to not participate then the group collective needs to look very hard at itself. Criticism, if constructive, should be welcomed. Those that can't handle that are the ones that should perhaps reconsider their involvement... ... and this has nothing to do with how good a builder you are, how many posts you make, how long you've been on the site. Everyone should be as welcome and valued as everyone else. In a word, Kindness. Whats wrong with a grown adult that they throw a strop at constructive criticism? Are they like that in real life or just behind a keyboard? The industry i work in - software - moves so quickly that virtually everyday i speak with someone about how best to do something. And they may correct what i've already done, or i might correct them, but no one sulks about it.. because we're grown ups. I would urge everyone who is an adult and enjoys learning from the experience of others to stay active on the site and smoother the nastiness with kindness, whether its your first post or your 2052nd... Kindness should be the winner here, not nastiness driving good people away. ..just my thoughts.
  22. It does, you're right!! Its better than i thought... still a shame about suspension, but its a definite buy for me.
  23. It doesn't.. look at the gearbox. One side goes to the LA's for tip, the other goes somewhere else... its not a 2 speed driving gearbox The black 24z's are mini turntables as some suggested above.. they're the LA mounts
