  1. I love tractors. I love big scale.... i thought my current project of a xerion using 3rd party 150mm tyres was big.... I'm not even close!!! I love the ambition of this moc, it ticks all my boxes, i really hope this succeeds! I've been looking for options for the tracks on an RT or Quadtrac moc on a bigger scale... lots of food for thought in this project!!!
  2. Use a differential to give it a choice, and use worm gears to make it impossible for torque to flow back to the stationary gear.... if you can visualise what i'm saying?
  3. Who's says people are never happy!!! One leaked pic and already tlg have got it wrong... Here we go again! Groundhog day...
  4. I missed this completely first time round... this my friend is truly awesome. Absolutely magnificent. I'm watching the video again as i was blown away by it!! Totally brilliant, sorry i missed it before....
  5. I love the merging of maths (with an 's', i'm english!!),and technic. This is such a powerful learning tool that would get engagement from even people who don't enjoy maths in its pure sense.. brilliant idea, explained and executed wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for posting.
  6. Those on my xerion are 130's and the one's on that big bud are 150's. They're not an exact tread match but they are proper chevrons..
  7. I don't do facebook... (work in i.t., know what data they hold, scary, scary stuff..) ...is there any other way of seeing that? ..i've seen the pics - i think those are the same 150mm tyres i've got. Can't see any detail on how he's mounted them though..
  8. That is a brilliant idea!! (the gasket..) I'm looking at using some 150mm() tyres for a big scale xerion. Got 8 of them and enough rims but i want to use the planetarys which are 3-pin mounting, not axle which makes duels tricky to get stable. Might investigate your solution..!
  9. Thats very true actually... i love building tractors but as soon as i've finished squeezing in the technical stuff and need to start the 'bodywork' i get bored!! I've got 2/3rds of a moc sat next to me, loads of functions and ready to start the bodywork.... its been like that for 3 months!!!
  10. Thankfully... its waaaay more interesting and function-rich than another supercar!!
  11. What rims have you mounted the tyres on.. i've used RC 2.2 ones that i've modified to use with a lego axle (there's a Xerion thread of mine somewhere with 4 of these tyres) THey're 130mm! But you are right lego should make them, being able to build at 1:15 or 1:16 is a far better scale for tractors.
  12. Awesome!!! I have the same 3rd party tyres for tractor mocs... Brilliant model! I notice you have a lockable central diff, it that controlled remotely? Would love to see under the skin... as a tractor fan, i love it!!
  13. Brilliant! Its got such a great look about it - is it based on a real life machine or totally from imagination? I really like this moc!
  14. Its technic... i feel functions should be the priority. When i see a thread for what is clearly a very accomplished moc and i scroll down the pics waiting for the technical pics only to find none, it feels like half-a-post. 3 or 4 pics of what under the skin doesn't seem an unreasonable expectation for a technic set. Its not Creator after all...
  15. All the comments are about the looks.. which are very well done ..but its a technic moc. Where's the technic?!! It looks as though there's a heave spring in the front suspension? And a new concept of gearbox is mentioned.. I'd love to see complex and accurate suspension, and the gearbox too.. so far its pretty, but..............
  16. I genuinely couldn't agree more, i know there's a lot of love for cars, but they leave me cold. I don't hate them or anything, they're just not for me. The opposite is the BWE, it didn't sound like my kind of thing, but when i saw it, it was proper technic and i had to have it! Loved the build too... Now it didn't have fancy gearboxes or anything, and maybe wasn't ground-breaking enough for dome, but it was pure technic with no fancy bits and i loved that.
  17. Credit to TLG. I've always had great support from Customer Services. Awesome service.
  18. Relatable is imporant, no doubt... but i do wonder about cars. I'm not a car guy and felt i was in the monority being bored by another gearbox in a brick-built shellsuit... but looking through peoples responses, there are many requests for construction and agriculture, but no requests for cars. Now that could just be because there are loads of cars, but i'm wondering if they're perceived popularity is simply because they're available. If a ferrari was on the shelf next to an awesome flagship JCB backhoe... which would sell the most? (...and JCB is a perfect fit for licenced technic sets.) If the Xerion had been a 3000 piece flagship masterpiece, would it have matched the Porsche in terms of sales? Who knows, but i suspect its a pretty close run thing.
  19. Brilliant idea.. i wish i had. I put GBC but never thought about clocks....
  20. 1 Case IH / JCB / Fendt 2 Tractors 3 £250 proper flagship agricultural machine - Fasttrack, Stieger etc 4 GBC ? Programmable C+/PU for moc use 10 Hydraulic version of pnuematics GBC looks a popular request... that would be an awesome flagship....
  21. Wow.. I disagree strongly. TLG is the Mothership for me. Although other provide bricks etc, they're just churning out the development done by tlg... no tlg, no development, no flagships. That's why i support tlg regardless of the occasional hiccup.
  22. No... i complain about the endless childish moaning. A logical structured debate is a brilliant thing. My ONLY issue is the dummy spitting moaning. Its as simple as that.
  23. firstly its a bike puncture, not rocket science, so just requires some common sense and a bit of effort.. not a galaxy sized brain. Secondly it was used an example of the fecklessness that is infecting people. Its valid in itself, but was actually more about the bigger picture... Exactly. Don't fill pages saying how TLG are useless and the sets are crap and over priced and even the company cat is to blame.... because the page after page of petulant strops on this site sometimes makes you wonder about the 'A' in afol. There are many sets i have no interest in or don't like, but i very rarely even mention it. I don't cry and bitch endlessly... it really does come across badly. And then if someone dares to criticise those people?! A different opinion?!!! Wow... dummies are spat and people get 'offended' by a disagreement. Offended?!!! What happened to 'agree to disgree'.. doesn't exist anymore. Snowflake-ism is spreading and everyone gets offended by a difference of opinion. Passionately debate and defend, but leave emotions at the door...different opinions are a way of life. Its the negative message it sends to TLG that i wonder about. Imagine spending months/years developing something amazing within the many many constraints of marketing and budgets etc.. only to be greeted by endless slagging off? Who here would want to be a Lego designer? Most of you would say Yes, but how many could take the stream of abuse from this forum..... think about that next time you call for TLG to be shot at dawn.
