Here is my entry, it is also my character intro: The Traveler's Tale IMG_0148 -
Nice build, the shaping is excellent. The window in the tree trunk is cool, but the tree could use more leaves, branches.

That is really cool! I never imagined you could do this with a 16x16 limit...

[MOC] An Unexpected Party...
Leonardo da Bricki replied to TheLordOfBricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow! This is great. The foliage looks great, although maybe adding some green leaves to break it up would be good. -
Angmeroth, son of Agmenth, the ruler of the Reneshkit Clan, having been sent out by his father to scout for a well, came across a wandering tradesman. Although he fumbled a bit in speaking the trader's tongue, he learned much from the traveler. That the nearest well was about one-and-a-half miles to the southwest. That there had been multiple civil wars happening across the continent. That a beast named Ravaage was gaining power, and that this Ravaage was not a myth. And that the true king had come at last to claim his right to the throne of Historica. Hurriedly, Angmeroth bid farewell to trader, with a warning of bandits who had been seen to the east, for his father must hear of the king's coming immediately. But in the desert, water came first. Always. He continued his journey to the well at a jog. Having filled his waterskin, Angmeroth mentally marked the well's location, walked a little ways away, and began muttering an incantation. "Hamresh selth abol, goltheb nar regolin esh. Al nukele'a amreth. NEROL TA'ULSH SETHE'REK'NISH!" In front of Angmeroth, the sand began to shift. A depression formed, sand slowly sliding downwards, as if in an hourglass of immense proportions. A dark hole formed in the pale sands. Angmeroth closed his eyes, took a breath, and jumped. While in midair, an obsidian beast launched itself upwards from the depths of the earth, and Angmeroth landed astride it. Known as the Arthre'gonresh Ta'ulth to the nomadic Reneshkit, these beasts are not known to others, but in the common tongue, they would be called the Run'eshmi Ancients... And with a beating of wings, Angmeroth rushed across the dunes, urging his mount to go ever faster... IMG_0148 This is my first ever build for Historica, so be as harsh with your C&C as you can/want. If allowed, I would like this to be the introduction for my character, Angmeroth the Beast-Rider, son of Agmenth the Elder, of the Reneshkit Clan, loyal to the Guild of Kaliphlin. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them. Second to lastly, to the judges: The base is 10x14=140 studs square. So if the beast's head constitutes too much over hang, tell me, and I'll change the model. However, be warned, I am just about out of dark tan parts... and time. Lastly, thanks for looking! I won't ask you to vote for me, because by entering, I am asking for votes. Very lastly, who doesn't love more photos? Bonus pics:

I have started work on the 2-speed gearbox, with a central diff. I want to make the central diff lockable, but I have the problem of the differential flexing away from the gears because it is secured at the ends, with a distance of either 6 or 7 studs between, depending on which driving ring is used to lock the axle. Any ideas on how to best brace it? LDD is here Thanks for the advice @Pego, though I was planning to build it with removable doors, and no roof, so it shouldn't be too heavy. Also, I was trying to be realistic, with on-axle diff locks. Adding portal hubs would mean removing them or changing the scale and making it bigger, which I don't have the parts for.

Beautiful! The dark red/black color combo is excellent, especially with the dark orange trees. Definitely a Nocturnus build.

AoM: Mill Phase II: Holt Windmill
Leonardo da Bricki replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
This is an excellent windmill, nice to see it isn't static. The landscaping is nice, though a few more light bley rocks on the lower part might be nice, maybe to mark a pathway, just to break up the gorgeous expanse of dark tan.- 19 replies

You're welcome. And I realized I messed up the LDD, the binoculars and clips should be Dark bluish gray.

Hello again! Here is my next update, I have mostly finished the front axle and have begun the rear axle. My Flickr still isn't working, so no pics again. Sorry. However, LDD is here. Thanks @Offroadcreat1ons for his help with the front axle, but I found a solution which does not involve me buying more parts. I cannot get the black links to connect in LDD, but I tested it with real bricks and it works fine. To combat the slack, I used white rubber bands from the rear towball on the hub looped around the base of the shocks. For those who want to know, though its pretty obvious, in LDD, gray is frame, blue is drive, red is diff lock, yellow + white is suspension elements, and black is steering.

Your builds just keep getting better and better. This beauty is epic! However, I am not completely sold on the rear lights, I feel like it could be made a little smoother under and around them. But excellent work! Will you be making instructions?

Neat spaceship! The hanger bay is cool, but I agree that a few more turrets elsewhere would be good. Here is a design of mine that can be integrated into the hull of a ship. The clips go into the binoculars with the bars facing out.

Rainbow Wave GBC

That is really neat. Its a very hypnotic motion. Good job. -
Hello all! I have been working on the axles, the coolest part of this vehicle. So far, they are live axles with lockable diffs, 13 studs between the wheel hubs. However, I ran into some trouble with the steering. I tried to use the new steering arms at an upwards angle, but this resulted in toe-in steering and a reverse Ackermann effect. I have built it in LDD, so if anyone wants to take a look, please do. Any advice would be great. Also note that it is unfinished, so yes, it is flimsy. No pics because I'm having trouble with my Flickr account. Sorry. Next update soon!

This is a great build! The trees and landscaping are excellent, and those curvy walls look epic!
