Not seen much on MB for adults. Granted I've only been collecting again since this past December so there is a lot I am still picking up on. That said I see a lot of potential in MB. They license themes that "older" folk might like better. I wish badly LEGO would do themes like Warframe or even 80s cartoons like Thundercats and stuff but that stuff is a pipe-dream. MB, however, given their products like Star Trek and Halo seems like they could do it. So far I have not bought any MB sets but if they ever release a theme like those I mentioned it may be hard to keep me away.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Japanbuilder replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am not sure but I thought the privacy setting only meant people can't stumble onto your pictures. If you share a link to that picture, however, only those people with knowledge of the link can access the picture. At least that is how I understand flickr. Changing a public picture to private should not change the link right? If so you should be all good. The picture goes off to the general public looking at your picture feed but stays available to anyone who knows the link. Test it on one picture and see if it works. -
Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Japanbuilder replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Loved 80s cartoons. As far as Anime goes though I still am really partial to Macross. I try not to miss any iteration of it though the more recent efforts don't quite do it for me. Raising girls in Japan invariably means I end up watching a lot of Idol Katsu and Pretty Cure though for the life of me I can't make sense of it. They seem to run together with the previous season's. How my kids keep up I don't know. Basically as an adult I stick to Crayon-Shin-Chan. Cant ever go wrong with that heh heh. -
Hmm I am hoping it stays available a bit longer then. I want to stagger my purchases out a bit, I have been blowing so much cash on LEGO TFA sets already. As for blasters I found a dealer locally (well not local to my area but within the country anyway) and the cost there turned out the same as brick linking from overseas. But thanks!

Does that mean they will be discontinued soon? Was hoping to get one of those next month.

Wow! Like many I am not that much of a prequel fan but this is absolutely stunning! There is so much to digest and it hits home how much happened at the capital during the prequels.

They have a lot to work with for season 3 I think. The Agent Kallus (forget his spelling atm) story thread was left very much on a cliffhanger of sorts. He seemed to be questioning his loyalty. Zeb and Sabine need more work I feel. Ezra I believe is becoming more desperate to "win" rather than "survive" though his first true taste of the darkness was a bit flip-floppy to me (he manages to see he made an error but then opens that holocron anyway??? hmm...some lesson learned I guess). Kanan Jarrus and Hera have a lot to do, though I am shocked they seem to be leaving Kanan in the state he is in. You can fix amputated limbs but not that??? Say what??? Ahsoka Tano seemed to live unless that was a cut away of her lifeless body falling down a hole. Guess We will have to wait and see though I wonder what role she will fill going forward? And yes more crack Storm Troopers pls! But only because they are my favorite! Heh heh! Can never have too many of those guys!

This wave in general definitely is very expensive. But despite it, that Fun in the Park set is gonna be mine!

[MOC] swimming lesson for the troopers, and vader's puppy
Japanbuilder replied to adde51's topic in LEGO Star Wars
hah hah, glad to see my household isn't the only one with Friends animals playing fetch with the likes of dark side force users. We don't obviously tell Mia her pets are missing though. My daughters make me promise as they escort the animals to "play" with Kylo and gang. -
Finally got a FO Transporter and 2 more FO Battle Packs. Now just waiting on my blasters to come in and they'll all be set.

Begging like mad to all divine beings to remind you where you put that piece you're looking for! And you search for days and days only to remember weeks later you used that piece on a detail build in the corner of some MOC. Then realizing you can't take that piece back...and now your new MOC is swearing at you for being so dumb. GRRR!

Yes, the one film didn't have it, which is why I made the comment that I liked the inclusion of the mount on both the official LEGO set and on Fightingswords' MOC. It adds a lot of utility to that particular speeder model.
-
Now that looks awesome. Much closer to the Gian-211 Speeder the set is based on. Plus the gun mount is much more believable here than on the official set. I like it is inclusion though on both sets as the one seen in the film was displayed sans the gun mount.

[MOC] Zeb's Bo-Rifle made with spare parts
Japanbuilder replied to JekPorkchops's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think your design hits closer to the mark of what we see in the series. Great work! -
Great review! Though I wonder how LEGO thought to bump this up to the 25$ mark. It seems an odd pricing choice. We got the excellent 60116 for 20$ and 3 mini figures were included in that set and the design is also twin engine. Do prices usually shift that bad among similar sets released the same year?
-
He is lucky wherever he is. He has tempted me back to the Volcano sets. I hope he gets the park set soon, I am really looking to see how it turns out and is the city set I am most itching for this year.
-
You think that is bad? Try 64,800 yen, then ask how Darth Vader that price really is. http://www.amazon.co...words=UCS 75098
-
Amazing! Where are you storing when not on display?
-
I got it and immediately used the parts to make a Jedi Temple instead. But I am glad I got it for the figures those are really good. The parts are really useful too I found (for the aforementioned Jedi Temple I made). In fact I will expand upon it using the pieces from the Encounter on Jakku set when that comes out and have a massive temple instead of the main chamber and gate I have now. I would encourage your kids to reassemble it into something more interesting. That's where it will shine best.

I liked Jang's take on the negativity surrounding this set. He pretty much condensed it into what a lot of us have been saying about this set. But also took into account what the actual LEGO demographic would think of it and I think he pretty much has it right there too. Basically, for kids this is awesome. A huge good-guy play set complete with action features and fun figures. For older fans it is an incomplete experience and most certainly not a UCS set. As a play set it is an incomplete experience as it is lop-sided in the negative towards the assaulting team. Price aside, since we can all accept LEGO is an expensive hobby, this thing is a bruising learning experience for LEGO. I am sure they are already setting systems in place to doubly-triply check anything coming down the UCS pipe for the next time.

I remember the old chrome stuff from back in the day would wear pretty fast. Don't now if that has gotten better over the years but I have taken a liking to the gun metal black (as in Kylo Ren's hilt) and I like the new silver plastic too I think they look pretty good and will last longer. But given the various other colors that piece comes in I just think any will do. It makes each Jedi/Sith you give one too that much more individual than all chrome on all of them.

So close to rounding out my FO collection. Got 1 5004406 (First Order General PB). Next month I am going for the FO Transporter and probably 3 more BPS. Also got 20 of the Pearl Grey Blaster rifles too. Now my Resistance troops can fight in style.
