Great idea..! I had set up something somewhat similar to test the steering radius of the hubs/cv joints to find the sweet spot... If I remember correctly if you place a black pin in the second hole on each side of the 11L liftarm, it will stop just before the binding begins between the hub and cv joint...

Directly from Lego.. You can order 10 of anything(stil in production) and 200 of each in one order(If they are in stock) with $2.95 shipping... All you need is the 7 digit part number from the back of the instructions... Now not everything is a good deal from Lego and you have to shop back and forth between them and Bricklink dealers(usually German ones) to get the best prices... For example a common black friction pin is like 10 cents from lego and you can buy them for one cent on Bricklink...

I remember ordering this set through the mail back in the mid 90's and it was fun to build, but after I finished it, I honestly hated it, it didn't resemble a car, but more of a tank-like vehicle, and the HOG steering was rough... I am so glad that Lego and the way that they design models now has evolved... I did like the B-model better....

Well he got on our computer and went right to brickshelf and then to TechnicBRICKS... He said he got his mom to support the Vamp at Cuusoo because he was too young to join... The kid was pretty smart for just turning 8 a few weeks ago... Which would explain his interest for Technic... He told me that he built the 9398 Crawler all by himself, which would have made him 7 at that time...

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Paul Boratko replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In 2011, Wolverine told Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr "Go F@!& yourselves" and a year later Wolverine was immortalized into a minifigure and got his own set... More than likely the user that created the Green Day project must have deleted it because Cuusoo usually just archives projects that are found to not be part of their guidelines... Maybe Green Day contacted him and didn't want to be part of it..? I was supporter #60 on that Green Day project... -
I certainly didn't expect this when I opened this thread... Ok, here is the story here... I was at work yesterday(at my father's garage) and I noticed an older gentlemen and a young boy had come in and were looking at Lionel trains in the front of the shop(My dad also deals in Pre-war and post war Lionel trains/accessories) Anyways, they were in my dad's office and the boy, whose name is Elijah, had seen one of my cars on the wallpaper of our shop's computer and the boy recognized it and said "this is crowkillers car" and my dad said "That is my son" and he said the boys eyes opened as big as silver dollars... My dad came to the back and asked me to come up front for a minute and the young boy was laughing and very excited and shook my hand and said that he knew all about my cars and told me how he loved Technic and wanted to come to my house and build with me... I know it doesn't seem like much, but it was freakin' awesome to make a connection with a young kid like that, especially one that prefers Technic over minifigures... Elijah lives out near York(about 275km from me) and was in town visiting his grand parents... I also had just received a batch of my Vampire GT cards from Brandon Griffith who has started up a new series called "STUDS", and I had one down at the shop and gave it to the boy, which is the one in the picture.. The boy also wanted his picture taken with me so he could show his mom, and of course we have a camera at the shop for taking pics of damage to vehicles, so I sent him one and posted one up at Facebook because I was so touched by this young 8 year old boy... We ended up going to eat lunch with Elijah and his grandfather and of course Elijah wanted to sit next to me and talk about Lego... Funny thing is that he said that his mother didn't allow him to have any soda, but he then proceeded to order unsweetened Iced-Tea and put in about 10 packs of sugar... I looked at my dad and said "Go figure"...

Here is the full parts list... The first thing that I see being an issue building it in White are the smooth toggle joints, because they do not come in white... Other than that, I think it is possible... The 63 connectors would have to be switched to the old style because they don't make those in the new style in white either... 19L white flex axles could become a problem as I do not think there are very many of them left on Bricklink... Also. there are SIX(6) #4 connectors that are pretty rare now in white... There is only one guy on Bricklink who has more than 2...

Cult Following..? Are you kidding..? This isn't the Rocky Horror Picture Show we're talking about here... How many Billion Dollar Cult followings are there out there...? If Lego has the opportunity to do the Simspsons theme, they would be crazy to not do it... You are talking about a quarter century worth of comedic iconic history... And for people singing the blues over political correctness, Lego put a freakin' marijuana plant in the 10220 T1 Camper Van... Who cares..? It was funny...

That is fantastic, but my gearbox is optimized into the chassis to have room for an "Interior"... I am most certain that I could have crammed a larger gearbox into this model and "RC" it as I have built larger ones in the past, but there is a line that I draw between things that work and things that do not... And in my opinion, motors running through gearboxes are not a great idea. If someone wants to build this and mod it to motorize it, then more power to them, but I wouldn't feel comfortable offering up something that could fail... I am also not a big fan of linkage transmissions because there is too much monkeying around trying to get the proper driving ring engaged... I played around with those designs 8 years ago and they are prone to failure...

These sets are freaking awesome..

I also had to upload a German friendly video because the original one was blocked in their country because of the music... It was just one of those things where I could either have the reverse and eliminate a forward gear, or go with the more realistic 6 speeds like the real car and eliminate the reverse gear.. I originally designed this model for a friend in Spain and I asked him which he would rather have and he told me that he would rather see the 6 speeds since the car in fact was a 6 speed and it was hard to see that the reverse gear was actually doing anything.

That's cool, I actually appreciate the fact that someone went out of their way to make a thread for this as I don't really like to make threads about my own stuff... Meat, you are also right as my webmaster, Juanjo recently altered my site so now if you go to www.crowkillers.com, it is actually a title page rather than a redirect to my model's pages, which is what it sounds like you had saved... I also had a direct link saved on my desktop that went to the same thing and I was going back and forth with my guy from Spain that my Charity auction wasn't comign up and the problem was that my saved link was the older one and not the direct web address... We should have these instructions ready to roll in a few days.. Eric told me last night that it was like 1,800 parts... I have the entire model all sorted and parted out ready to build and test everything out to make sure that we don't have any issues... I also need to get a short video put together for it...

Lego Technic 2h 2013
Paul Boratko replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That was how I initially had it set up and it worked ok, but I was trying to keep everything as tightly compact as I could and I wanted the drive ring to engage as fast as possible so I switched it up.. I was using a M-Motor with an axle going right through changeover catch and it would only stay engaged for a short while before jumping out of gear... You also get quite a bit of grinding and snapping when the drive ring engages into the clutch gear while shifting up while it is in motion... I really do not think that the current line of gearbox parts is right for a large motorized vehicle that you expect performance out of... I ruined several driving rings on this chassis which was why I abandoned the whole idea...- 902 replies

Lego Technic 2h 2013
Paul Boratko replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I built a 2 experimental chassis a few years ago with simple remote 2 speed changing transmissions and the one problem that I had was the drive rings didn't want to stay engaged and would eventually slip out of engagement(Primarily due to the speed).... Granted this was with a chassis that was very lightweight and went somewhat fast... I wouldn't expect people to purchase a supercar with a gearbox that moved at the crawler's speed.. Drive rings and clutch gears have been around for almost 20 years and there still has never been a drivable model that made use of them(outside of the 8043)... I think the current parts would need a serious upgrade to pull this off...- 902 replies

Lego Technic 2h 2013
Paul Boratko replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If Lego ever releases a motorized Supercar with any type of speed changing gearbox, it will have to be Lightweight and the Gearbox would have to be automatic.... Can you imagine how many people will try and start the model out in 4th gear..? It could be a recipe for disaster... I have been waiting for gears like that for years...- 902 replies

That would make a little sense then, but how much is the sales tax in New York? 8%? Plus he had to pay Ebay 9% for the sale and he shipped it for free... He sold 4 of them and has another listed right now... So in conclusion, I don't get how he paid $142.99 for this set(not counting tax), sold it for $129.99, paid the 9% Ebay fees and then shipped it for Free... Unless he had a ton of V.I.P. points.... Also 4% in Paypal fees....

On Thursday my wife ordered a 42000 set on Ebay from a guy from New Jersey for $129.99 with shipping included... The set arrived today and there is a Lego Store price tag on it that says $142.99... Has anyone seen this set in their local Lego store yet..? It isn't on their webiste yet... The Seller sold 4 of them for $129.99 and now he is selling them for $139.99.... This is not a drop ship scam or anything like that as whoever shipped it no doubtedly packed it themselves...
