  1. I would be more concerned damaging the actual connector or axlehole base to where the "torsion bar/axle" is being mounted to, rather than the axle itself.. This would more than likely be where damage would occur before any type of deformation to the axle would happen...
  2. There are also camel farms in the United States, but I don't think of them as iconic "American" animals since like ostriches, are not native to this land... I had never known of the U.S. being recognized for it's ostrich farms...
  3. I didn't even see the "Marilyn Monroe" movie star fig.. That one isn't showing up on my screen...
  4. LOL.. The "Bald Ostrich"
  5. One thing that I can't figure out though... There is a Statue of Liberty Fig, an NFL player, the Cowgirl, and the Cowboy/Bandit.. But what in the Hell is up with that ostrich on the far right hand side..? Aren't those African..?
  6. Speaking of Metric tons... You know... If President Obama declared over night that the U.S. was switching over to the Metric system, the entire country would lose it's mind... It would be worse than the worst zombie outbreak imaginable...
  7. Very good points... I certainly do not look at Lego elements the same way as I did back in 2008... I've been back to building for over a decade now, but I don't think that I really learned how to build until around 2009... And of course there are still many improvements and progress to be made...
  8. Love the new name change and layout.. I just bought the domain name www.crowlovers.com... My webmaster is hard at work making the needed changes right now for the big switch... I felt it was time to stop being so angry towards these misunderstood birds...
  9. If I were you, I would build the Concept Car... It is really well done and also designed by a former designer from Lego.. The Ninja is also a good choice if you have the 8458 Silver Chanmpion and 8466 Off Roader...
  10. I have my red parts all sorted out and then have my 2 colors of red parts sorted out... What a pain...
  11. It could be worse... You could be selling a custom model on Ebay, then have a rival seller buy that model and then a few weeks after he gets it, he starts reselling the exact same model while you are also selling it and also using your description... Then you message the seller and ask him what the deal is, and in response he sends you a youtube video link of something from the 70's to rebut your accusations... Yeah, a youtube video link about something from the 70's...
  12. I always thought that a "Purist" was someone who only built with unaltered official Lego parts and also followed Lego's legal building techniques... I know when I used to go to shows that there were somewhat strict rules that no displays were allowed to contain any non-Lego products, but many displays had custom minifgs and custom minifig weapons...
  13. Nothing wrong with motorizing a car if you can pull it off and are happy with the performance like Sariel has shown... I was working on a prototype chassis where you can easily pop out the gearbox and replace it with a motor, and then pop out the rear H.O.G. and replace it with a servo motor... My only problem was finding room for the battery box... I always thought this kind of simple concept would be cool where as you could have it either way, but I just don't think I could keep the performance once I tried to add a simple body onto it using the PF motors... The most common questions that I get asked are "Does it run?" and "Why don't you build something that uses motors?" Radio Controlled is the way to go if you want a fast easily controlled supercar as Sariel has shown... I am not a huge fan of the infrared technology for driving fast vehicles... It is good for slower moving things and operating functions, but unlike radio controlled, you have to point the remote at the sensor on the vehicle and follow it around...
  14. Are you planning on running some type of motor through that? Or is it just to change the gears?
  15. There is no reason for Lego to not produce studded parts anymore since they are compatible with the system sets(And still have a high value in Technic sets)... You just won't see them as often...
  16. Was wondering the same thing.. No way a dark blue brick would reflect like that... It looks like blue chrome... Actually now that I look at some brand new black liftarms in the proper lighting, they do reflect.. Nevermind...
  17. I just finished another alternate design similar to the one above with the gear rack flipped upside down... Many less parts... I'll get some pics posted later...
  18. Are those new Blue parts metallic chrome..? I've never seen a regular Lego part reflect like that.. Look above the front wheel fender.. You can see the reflection... Edit, nevermind, they are just blue..The darker color gives that reflective appearance...
  19. Got an idea to use a piece that I thought that I might never use... It works suprisingly well since the red 5L liftarms offer the support to keep everything together and it doesn't have any friction.... And with the control arms being only 5L, it provides enough room between them for the engine to sit...
