  1. I don't really like how they did Michael Angelo's Nunchucks and Donatello's Staff....
  2. That is a really awesome suspension idea that you have there! Knowing your incredible past models, I am certain that this one will not disappoint!
  3. LOL... That's not my model, it's Nathanael's.. I am just hosting the instructions for him...
  4. Those are some amazingly large pictures.... Luckily I have a fast internet connection... Really nice looking model you got there...
  5. Yes, he did an amazing job with this model... There is no doubt about that...
  6. I am hosting the Pony Car 92 Page PDF Instructions up at my site for Nathanaël. He is asking for the low price of only $10 USD for a download. Clicking on the picture below will take you to them.
  7. So then this "Challenge" IS exactly what was rumored/announced/hinted to many months ago...? I am not surprised, Lego is not going to have to rework something(In their crawler chassis) just for some promotional build off.... Hopefully whomever wins this "Challenge" uses 19L Black Flexible axles somewhere on their vehicle's body...
  8. Wow... I can still remember building that buggy... Eric, I could have swore that set came with the instructions for the Buggy... It almost had to of, because I built it when I was like 4 years old and I know it was a long time ago, but I don't recall having to reverse engineer it from the box art... So many memories... And Arvo's 5 Mini Supercars are amazingly well done...
  9. KEvron, I wouldn't worry about it too much... The "Insults" if you would really call them that were very minor... I think everyone has stated their opinions rather well in this topic... From what I have gathered in my years of building is that Fan Made models overall seem to be more respected and appreciated by other builders when they abide by the same guidelines that The Lego Company follows...
  10. It does fit and slide fine, but when you slide the new styled connector through the driving ring it does push both of the tiny clips on the driving ring outwards, and I suppose that over a period of time that it would leave a lasting effect on the driving ring clips thus leading to possible long term damage.... The older styled ribbed ones slide through and release the stress on the small clips of the driving ring when they click into and out of place...
  11. I agree that everyone should be able to build a model however they want and do what they want, I mean after all, it is their money that is being spent... However, you can't expect to present that model to the world and have it accepted with open arms... Many people may want to rebuild your MOC, but not so many people may be willing to alter and modify parts, which could be a turn off to most...
  12. I knew that set was one of the ones that had the most black friction pins, but I didn't know about how rare those 9L and 11L Orange Liftarms were until I talked to you... I also grabbed a Brand New 8557 Exo-Toa last week for $34... That one also has 25 Black pins...
  13. LOL.. Yeah.. they are very much the same, but yet so very different.. That is something that is cool about Lego.. You can take any model and really make it your own...
  14. Over the past few days, I rebuilt mine from the ground up as well and also altered the steering to work with the new styled 7L gear rack(This wasn't out yet when I built the original) and a 12 tooth bevel gear rather than a 16 tooth one and the older OOP 8L gear rack... I also changed it to work with the new 3L Universal joint rather than the 4L one... I am also 20 Black friction pins away from having every single pin in the entire model either black or white... And Lucky for me, I just happened to score a Brand New 8473 Nitro Race Team set(which has 21 Black Friction pins)on Ebay earlier today for ONLY $21... I just took these pics about 5 hours ago...
  15. If you look closely on the front of the box in the bottom right hand corner to the left of the Battery box/Motor picture, they do show arrows pointing up and down over the wheels suggesting that it does have suspension...
  16. That is a very good point and exactly why I mentioned it... If Brickarms started making custom Wheels, would they then be allowed to be used...?
  17. LOL.. They had a Hi-Def picture of my Porsche with chrome wheels on the back cover of the Brickfair attendees guide... They are real Lego wheels... I guess that it is no different than someone printing up a custom sticker and using it on their MOC... The thing is, I can still display the same exact thing without the chrome and it doesn't change the actual design... I think this is a good thing in a way because it shows that there is slight room for tolerance... I guess that it comes down to whether or not a part is actually being damaged by the way that it is being used... I know that I've done some models where I was doing similar things and I felt bad about the model, but I wasn't really damaging anything, but in my mind, I felt like I was breaking rules...
  18. Then again, there were minifigs and weapons displayed on people's MOCs that most certainly did not come from The Lego Company... So there is another topic for discussion... Should aftermarket minifigs and weapons be allowed to be used..?
  19. I know at Brickfair that they stressed that everything that was being displayed had to be 100% Lego...
  20. She has it built correctly and I know that it is built on a hinge, however, these 2 pieces are preventing the hinge from doing what it is supposed to do.. With these in place there has to be something flexing a bit somewhere to make the connection... This isn't a big deal to me because it shows that there is some Legal tolerance allowable when getting things to line up...
  21. I am still a little surprised that the 8110 Unimog has the roof being stressed downwards in order to connect with the windshield pillars... Unless my wife has it built wrong...
  22. I use 2 pieces of white foamboard(for stability on the back and bottom))and then I use white banner paper and tape and drape it down over the foamboard down the back and over the bottom piece towards the front so that there are no creases or seams.. I also only take pictures outside on my porch because I think that natural lighting works really well, but not in direct sunlight...
  23. You know... 1897 was the year that Abraham Stoker wrote the Gothic Novel Dracula...
  24. I am not into Frankensteining parts, but here is something to think about... What about cutting certain parts to fit...? For example this part Now the reason why I bring up this part is because I remember when my wife built the 8272 snowmobile set, she told me that she had to CUT a tube in half... I said "No way" and she showed me the instruction book prompting the builder to cut the tube in half... So that would lead me to believe that cutting those tubes to fit your needs is perfectly fine... So if you cut a tube, does it make you a non-purist or purist..? I've been to many Lego shows and people talk about being 100% purists, but I've seen them use parts in ways that are very questionable and doesn't seem to be very "Pure"
  25. LOL.. That is freaking awesome... So this new challenge is to create a new body style for the crawler..? Isn't that what is was supposed to be from back when the Crawler was originally announced...? I do remember something being said like last year that there was going to be a contest this fall for an alternate body for the Crawler... This makes sense as I can't see Lego compromising the chassis that they currently have built with one that has imperfections...
