  1. My wife got ours ordered along with some Baxter Robots at 50% off...
  2. Yeah, aside from them having far too much play in them, the CV joint steering radius is a bit too limited... I would be a bit surprised to see Lego ever use the front hubs for steering and have drive axles running to them, but then again, they have released some models in the past that had somewhat limited steering... I actually just built a new front drive suspension module using the new steering arms and the new hubs and while it works well, the steering should be able to turn more than it does before the CV Joints begin to bind up when rotating...
  3. The only problem with that "I want a piece" section is that they are claiming to have certain parts in stock that I know haven't been in stock or have been discontinued for quite some time... You are better off just calling in and placing an order.. It is quicker and eliminates the step of preparng the order online and waiting... All you need is the element ID number... Also, I have been using my debit card to buy parts (and everything else) from Lego online for years...
  4. Technic design ins't in limbo.. There is only a very very minute group of people on this planet that could design models as practically and precisely as the ones that we have seen over the past few years from Lego... The Technic design team has the resources and skill to blow away just about any average and skilled fan out there.. You don't think they would like to(and can) do everything that you want to..? I would love to see the prototype designs that the Technic team has done over the years that never get to see the public's eye.. I am more amazed by the simplistic use and practical way of using parts than by the sheer amount of parts used in typical AFOL Lego Moc's... I wish that I could build like the Technic designers do.. People always seem to take the models that the Technic team does for granted without looking into how they are actually designed...
  5. Considering that it will be a heavy brick built construction, I would say the chances are very slim.. I imagine that it will be similar to the Beetle that came out a few years back...
  6. I would rather not see anymore challenges unless Lego can work out a better system.. There seemed to be quite a bit of controversy with the crawler body challenge...
  7. The "Track Car" that I read about may very well have just been the F1 Pullback racer.. I read about this back in July before I had even seen any of the new 1st half sets... That could have been the generic name they were giving it at that time...
  8. The thought of a tank never even crossed my mind... I was thinking something more along the lines of this:
  9. LOL.. My generic LG Cosmos is probably the ONLY thing in my house that doesn't have any recordable capabilities... However, everything else in my house can capture video... Hell, I think our new toaster came with 16 GB of flash memory..
  10. Anyone else hear anything about a "Track Car" this year..? I read this on another site several months ago.... I have been trying to find it again, but haven't been able to... It was a German site and I had to use a translator to read it... This was also back before I had heard anything about what the 1st half sets were, so I don't know if it was referring to the F1 pullback racer or not...
  11. The main thing that I am having trouble believing isn't the physics involved, but more so the fact that someone would create this, get it to successfully fly, and not make some type of recording.. It is near impossible to find any device now a days that takes pictures and not video... I mean obviously while you build it you continually test it, so why would you not record a few seconds of video to show the world and only 2 pictures..?
  12. I am fairly certian that Lego's legal issue about their brick being a trademark was fought and lost a few years ago... For all Lego knows this picture could be a render of a model built from some Chinese knock off company... And here it is... LEGO brick not a trademark, court rules
  13. What trademark..? A picture of their product..? If this is the case, then how can magazines like Brick Journal sell copies of it's magazine with Lego in it..? Or for that matter how can these new Lego cards be legally sold..?
  14. If I remember corrctly the lone springs were scrapped late due to safety issues because it was too easy for them to fly off and hit a child in the eye and the boxes were already printed...
  15. Alex, I felt the same exact way about the same exact set when I was roughly about the same age(I got that set when I was in first grade which would have been right around 1981).. I used to go into the department store when my mom went shopping and just stare at the inside of the box trying to analyze how everything worked. Then when I finally got it, I built and rebuilt so many times that i could build it from memory... That was probably the most important Lego set that I ever had... Ah memories...
  16. I don't have a bricklink store.... My wife has one and has some of the new 2014 parts in it...
  17. Just called up Lego on December 7th and placed an order...
  18. For what it's worth, I think that part may have been recently added to clear up any confusion as to what all materials were being used because of so many questions at youtube.... I don't remember that being there when this project first hit the net... I was like the first person to comment on it at youtube and my comment was "This will have a million views soon" I don't think there is jealousy being shown here, instead a bit of dissapointment... I for one really wanted to see an all Lego built car actually drive someday... Can anyone find a backer with about $100,000..? I bet a few of us here could team up and do it...
  19. Nothing like coming home from work and finding a batch of all new Technic parts waiting for you...
  20. I was reading through the comments on the youtube video and it was said that all of the load bearing parts were made of steel, but claimed more than 90% of the vehicle was Lego... Granted the wheels are a given that they cannot be made from Lego, but you can clearly see the steering linkage is some type of metal because there are nuts there... I was driving home today thinking about this and before I got home, I slowed down to exactly 20 M.P.H. and it does seem to be impossible for a Lego built car being run through 256 pistons running on air to do this speed, however, I can see once the car gets up to speed(by being pulled or pushed) on a perfectly level groud that it may be possible to maintain this speed... I would really like to see a bit more about the inner structure and drive-train before passing judgement... I do think that it is really cool, but every website out there is claiming that it is built entirely of Lego and that isn't the case... I wish the creators of this would update their website with some more information or even some work in progress pictures to give more of an insight into how it was built from the start... The models at Legoland also have to endure weather conditions and really are not trying to "Break new grounds" Heck even that huge X-Wing they unveiled in New York had a metal frame for structure integrity... But if you're going to throw something out there for all to see and make a claim, then your claim should be 100% valid... Like I said though, I really would like to see more information on this...
  21. In one of the videos he posted earlier this year someone asked him(in the comments) about where he gets parts and he said that he ordered then from Bricklink.... This obviously made me assume that he wasn't getting them from Lego and was buying them himself...
  22. I am interested in seeing how the engine is connected to the rear wheels... I like the amazing things that Burf builds better... Plus he builds them out of his own pocket... Alex, would this car have to get a "push" to get it set into motion and then the motor keeps it rolling..?
  23. Ok, my main man Juanjo got the PDF instructions all set up for download at my website... Click on the picture...
  24. I've been waiting for years to see something like this... The entire chassis of this vehicle cannot be made from Lego though... I am guessing that some type of alloy or steel had to have been used...
