I can't find it anymore but I saw someone's Classic Space Batman and really liked it. I decided to build a Batwing to fit with the figure. It was done quickly so it doesn't have moving wings of flick missiles or anything.

My oldest is currently interested in playing Nexo Knights. But he won't let me use any lava monsters because he has moved onto the new stone monsters. I was looking at the free Toys R Us Nexo Knight monster we got. I thought I had most of the pieces to make a stone monster version. I named the original Hammerhorn due to the prominent horns and the hammer he carried. I've named mine Hornmace even thought the horns are not very prominent. Unfortunately you can't flick the weapon as easily due to the shorter handle but I couldn't find the right piece except in white and I didn't think that would look as good.

This was designed with the idea of adding a new cattle tribe to Legends of Chima. It could just as easily be used in Nexo Knights or some other fantasy/sci-fi setting. he Sky Chariot is part of a larger vehicle idea, kind of like the Battle Ram from Masters of the Universe. I've not designed the rest of the War Charger. The Herbivore Empire saw the result of the Great Illumination. Callistus, son of the cattle emperor, set out to investigate. Since the War Charger was damaged, he detached the Sky Chariot to look around. Unfortunately the duck who also came from the Herbivore Empire doesn't believe carnivores can be good. She sabotages their relationship with the lions.

My wife and I went to the adult build night at the Lego store last night. It was fun although the kids felt we spent too much time. We got the rose to build as expected. It was kinda annoying they didn't have a finished picture of the rose except the end of the instructions. For small builds like that I prefer to try building from a picture instead of using the instructions. Unfortunately I couldn't help seeing how they added the petals. Additionally they gave out a log cabin and had a pile of bricks for you to customize it. Surprisingly my wife even allowed modifications. We added a garage and yard. (She said no to any eyes on things.) Talked with another couple building at the same time. Promoted Brickfair NE to them.

Showed the knights set to my wife. Despite disliking not-legos, she would like that set. She did wonder if it could be rebuilt in lego. I thought it could except for the helmets and cloth pieces.

Interesting figures. I've considered making a four armed Hulk using a technic beam and attaching two arms. I've been trying to design new big figures using regular bricks. I have Venom and a big Orca.

I would try to avoid spraying. I find the challenge of making something work with brick that are available interesting.

I feel like there should be a small batplane. Very nice build.

There was a Hulk suit I supported on ideas. In the update he posted his suits of all the Avengers. I didn't even think about the starfish. Did you use that on the chest as well or did you get the star some other way? I should have done something like that for my Captain America like superhero mixel.

I've posted Orca if you want to see a different arm design. The arm design may still be important for some characters but it appears Lego has solved it for Venom and Orca. Gorrilla Grodd has black arms and the new big Bane has black hands.

As a fan of Legends of Chima, I'm always on the look for new tribes using other animal minifigures. Orca from the new Lego Batman Movie Minifigure series looked like a perfect addition. Since the mammoth tribe had a large figure, I thought it might be a nice addition to the tribe. I decided to try using technic pieces for the arms instead of the design I used for Venom. It is stronger than the Venom design but may be harder to build in a variety of colors. The image below has one difference from the instructions I've created. The instructions call for a black tile 2x3 on each arm. As I don't have any, I'm using a two tiles a 1x2 and a 2x2. It is alright but not as strong as I'd like. With the new big Bane figure we will be getting black hands. By combining that with Gorrilla Grodd's arms you can have regular big figure arms. My daughter's first build and play video, Scooby Doo *Link Fixed*
dulsi replied to Playwell Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Your link doesn't work but I did find it: I like how tha Shaggy keeps coming back during the construction. My oldest does the same when building. -
Nice trees. Hopefully I'll eventually get some plants pieces to make a tree like that. Right now I'm stuck with green bricks/plates as leaves.

The free Nexo Knights is only with a Nexo Knights purchase.

Final mixel of the tribe: Arachteen I feel like he should have a little more blue to fit in with the rest of the teem but I don't have a blue version of that axle connector. Last picture has him shooting webs. The build is 60 pieces. I wanted him to be lower than the other two so that he would include a nixel as well. I still need to make a max version of the tribe. I'm tempted to max a fourth mixel as well. An iron man like suit which is control by a nixel which has turned against the other nixels.

Well this was done to satisfy my son's interest in building figures in Marvel Superheroes video game. I'm sure if they had the ability to get jumbo minifigures in the game he would want that but that probably would also require more pieces. I could see doing Giganta or Galactus as jumbo minifigures.

Some people make their instructions available like on rebrickable. For threads on here, you could ask. Normally I just stare are the different pictures and try to figure it out. Admitted I can't always figure it out. I found a unicorn model with parts list for different sections. I could not figure out how some of it was built. I ended up just creating something similar with different pieces.
-
I modified Zhero to reduce the piece count to 70. Granted some of this is cheating by combining two pieces into one bigger piece. The mixel probably has too many big pieces but some modifications like the legs and arms do reduce the number of pieces. I kept the long arms and fat fingers because I liked their look.

I was looking at Captain America and Spider-man and thought about the similar color scheme. The mixels have recently had occupation themed mixels. How about a superhero mixel tribe using red, white and blue as the color scheme. The shield using mixel I've name Blockaid. I've calling the other one Zhero. Zhero was built first and is not as successful IMHO. He uses 88 pieces so he is high for a mixel. Additionally he has studs showing everywhere. I'm planning on doing a spider based mixel for the last one.

I think a lot of it is practice. Try looking at other peoples designs. Steal whatever cool ideas you see. If you don't have the pieces in the color, try anyway. I've molded things with physical legos just so I know a digital model will work and then recolor it digitally as I like.

Didn't even know Megablocks came out with these. I can't say I like the enterprise look. Never saw them in stores. I bought the Kre-O Enterprise and was disappointed with it. I prefer the Kre-O figures to the Megablocks ones.

My youngest loves building minifigures in the Lego video games. Many of those parts are not available and even if they were it would be expensive to build all his designs. However in the Lego Marvel Super-Heroes, you can recolor some big guys like the Hulk. I decided to try building a brick built figure to match their style. I tried to avoid stickers as much as possible but do use them for the eyes. The arms aren't as strong as I would like. My son now has probably 8 different colored versions on his computer. (Some with modifications like two heads or head with three eyes.) I plan to try some different head designs for Venom but figured I'd post what I have now. I have another made for Orca (Batman villain in the Lego Batman minifigure series) with a different arm design that holds better. Rebrickable website for parts list and mine for instructions

Figured I'd start a thread for people to scream about their failures. A while ago I tried to make a stop motion movie with my raccoon car. I read up a lot so that I knew what to do. Everything setup with lights, background, a stable holder for camera, etc. I took probably 30 pictures before I realized that where I stood sometimes blocked the light. Sure enough it would flicker when you run the pictures together. Tried again last night. This time doing a video with my Spiderman landspeeder. I borrowed Thor, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Spiderman, and Obi-Wan from my son. Took pictures of the speeder approaching the cantina. Everything seemed to be alright. I wished I had a larger scene to shoot but I don't have the bricks to build a better environment. Finished that and started to take apart the desert ground to build a larger cantina inside. That's when I noticed I forgot to swap Luke's head with Spiderman. I was rushing too much due to needing to get the figures back to my sons before the end of the night. I hope to eventually have a video to post on this forum.

[LDD + Lego Ideas] Star Wars Arena of Geonosis
dulsi replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I see this is on rebrickable. I'd suggest cleaning up the parts list there. Instead of listing the lever small and lever small base separately, list them as 298c02 - lever small base with black lever. Same with minifigure pieces. Have you considered replacing the non existing parts with what is available? I'd be curious how much it affects the look. This appears to be your seventh attempt at this ideas project (or a variation of it). I don't want to sound negative but given the iconic nature of this scene to episode 2, I would assume Lego has already prototyped this and decided not to make a set on this subject.
