For this year's party favor for my oldest he asked for a Nexo Knight vehicle which could attach to the new Battle Armors. I decided to create a Jet Dragon kinda like the Jet Horse. Here is it on Clay's suit: I always include an alternate build without any instructions. Since my son really like Batman I decided to make a jetpack for Batman out of the pieces. Full instructions and digital files can be found here.

If I had to take a guess no one from Flickr even looked at the images. The DMCA makes it so that companies like youtube, flickr, etc. are not responsible for copyright violations as long as they remove the content quickly on request. Universal makes the request and it is up to the user to affirm that the content is not violating.

Gubi0222: I don't think you have posted a link to this thread in the contest thread. You need to do so to be entered in the contest. Rodians are not fairing well in this contest. :)

So what. My desk for Thrawn is too big. The ship interior doesn't look as good as others. I forgot to put some finishing touches on the AT-ST. I keep thinking of redesigning the legs to try to make them move. Hopefully I'll find the time to tweak it and retake the images but even if I don't I made an entry. A good space battle would be an interesting build. Limited time is certainly a problem. For parts you could make a digital entry. I know VaderFan has some proficiency with that. I think it looks better to use physical bricks plus then you know it works in practice but sometimes you just don't have the bricks. I was pleased I was able to create something that looked like the AT-ST with my bricks. I even discovered I had the pieces the Lego AT-ST used for the feet after I built my solution with the inverted wedges. But I liked that I had a different solution to the problem.

Don't forget to post in the contest thread with a link to here. I didn't see a link to this thread. I wouldn't mind seeing a full view of the builds. Do you have three builds or are the two locations on the ship connected? (Not that it really matters.)

That's not a good reason. My build needed a large tree, an AT-ST, a Tie Fighter, and some Star Wars minifigures. I didn't even have Thrawn. I could have taken apart a MOC which had many brown pieces but instead tried to build something with what little I had. All the Star Wars figures are borrowed from my sons as I have only a couple which wouldn't work. I did give up on making the AT-ST's legs move but that is the sort of reasonable compromise. You could even do a micro build for your plans if they are too large.

[Thrawn] - Lessons from Endor I feel like I should apologies for the liberties taken in the design of the Tie Fighter and AT-ST probably for my treatment of Thrawn as well.

Lessons from Endor Adminiral Thrawn's ship had arrived at the site of the destruction of the second Death Star a day ago. He sent a team to the surface of the moon. Admiral Thrawn stood in his office observing an animal skin painting recovered from the ewoks. Commander Kenner waited patiently for some time before deciding to speak. "Pardon my interruption Admiral. I completely understand coming here to see the destruction and perhaps search for survivors or recoverable equipment. But why waste your time on this primitive painting." Admiral Thrawn continued to examine the painting as he spoke. "The Emperor failed to study how the Rebels defeated the first Death Star. That may have allowed them to succeed at destroying the second. Understanding one's enemy is critical to defeating them. Based on the destruction around the shield station, it is clear that the Rebels acquired the assistance of the natives of this world. While primitive, their tactics enabled the Rebels to destroy the shield." The commander remained unconvinced. "This painting will enable you to understand there tactics?" "No," responded Admiral Thrawn. "The painting shows how the Rebels secured their aid. The natives are worshiping this golden being. No doubt they mistook Princess Leia's protocol droid for this being." Thrawn turned to the commander. "Repaint one of our 3PO units the same color. Send it down with a squad of storm troopers. They are to befriend the natives and learn their military secrets." The stormtrooper turned to another member of his unit. "How are dropping rocks in space going to help? Why are we training to use bows and arrows? Isn't swinging that big log from the AT-ST going to make it off balanced?" The other trooper just shrugged. "I just follow the orders." ------------------ Posting this now so I don't forget before the contest ends. There are still things I want to improve if I get a chance. I'm stretching the "triumphing over them by studying their art." In this case they triumph over the ewoks by converting them to "help" them. I know the Tie Fighter doesn't match any known design. You can say it is prototype or modifications were needed to hold the rocks. I tried to make it recognizable as a Tie Fighter like design with what I had. Same goes for the AT-ST although I think that looks more accurate.

Very nice. I'm tempted to try and build it.

When I first started after my dark ages, I bought one of the recent Lego Ideas books. You don't get the bricks from a set but they show a large variety of builds and how parts of them were built. If you have a smaller collection, I recommend ignoring color sometimes. Get the shape you want and then worry about matching the colors. Sometimes I've built the structure I want before and then modeled it on the computer so that I can color it appropriately. Then I can order the pieces I need.

@SylvainLS Thanks for creating this. It will be nice to be able to do this from linux instead of starting a Windows VM. -
Excellent build.

I got a couple of the propeller pieces that I used on this creation. I looked at rebrickable to see how it was used by Lego and in mocs. I didn't see anyone using it for a plane so I decided to design a Batplane. It has two propellers and shaped like the P-38 Lightning. Lex Luthor captured Superman and hacked into the Dark Knight's computer system. He was able to crash the Batwing remotely. Batman couldn't rely on anything with an on board computer. The old WW2 plane he purchased a long time ago was refitted into a new Batplane. I'm not entirely happy with the landing gears. The plane is angled up too high I think.

Cookie Monster eating the letter of the day 'X'. Brickfair had X/"Ten" for it's theme this year due to it being the 10th anniversary. I initially thought of doing Big Bird with the letter of the day. My kids and wife felt it should be Cookie Monster eating the letter of the day. When I built the 'X' my oldest thought I should add black pieces to make it a chocolate chip cookie. It was nominated for the best theme category. It didn't win but I'm happy to have a nomination.

There was a PBS show that focused on Petra. I haven't compared your creation to actual pictures but I feel it looks good. It's not a project that interests me as I'm not that fond of microscale.

I haven't really thought too much about how the penguin tribe fits in Chima. This is some quick thoughts to go with the build. After the Great Illumination, the mammoths and ice bears sought out a colder environment to settle in. To there surprise they found a Penguin tribe already living there. The Penguin were battling with an Orca tribe. Pukit doesn't speak. He carries paper and writes down answers too complicated to explain through gestures.

Figured I'd add another Chima set. 30263 - Spider Crawler Error: Missing minifigure and chi. 30263 - Spider Crawler.mpd

Very nice. I wondered how that ideas project made it's shape. I produced a very simple section of a chamber to make a story for my kids. I don't know that I'll ever produce a fully Jedi Council chamber but it nice to see how roundish shapes are created.

Looks like Balistic Mask with some modifications.

How do you imagine Lego works in the Toy Story universe
dulsi replied to Takanuinuva's topic in Community
Would different systems have different thought patterns and trouble integrating into a hive mind? Technic vs System vs Bionicle (or other buildable figures) vs Duplo? -
Yeah. I built a small vehicle with it and replaced one of it's steps with a picture from a different angle to better show what was being done. It is nice to be able to create instructions at the touch of a button.

I like the rule but wish there was a better way to implement it. Specially I'd like them to allow innovative creations that they couldn't come up with but I don't see anyway they could make that exception. I'm thinking things like the rolling BB-8 or Millennium Falcon Falcon. The problem of course is that Lego could be working on something like that so there is no clear rule that could be created. Also this rule prevents Masters of Universe/DC (or other) crossover creations which Lego might not be considering but maybe would if they knew of the interest. (Yes I know that wouldn't happen since Mattel owns megablocks.)
