  1. @Sariel Thanks for the great review. The extensive outdore testing was a nice surprise. I suggest putting your video review as well in your thread with 2017 set reviews or in a separate post, like this people can find them more easily. Otherwise it will soon be buried on page 127 of ... Where your reviews have convinced me in the past to give a set the benefit of the doubt, this time it confirms my initial impressions: underwhelming, unfinished, overpriced. This is a flagship set I will not be getting.
  2. Your presentation of things is a bit too simplistic, you are forgetting the cost of living. Here is a comparison between the cost of living in Luxembourg and Poland: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=Luxembourg&country2=Poland. I am well aware I am privileged and I am not complaining about Lego being pricey, I am complaining about the fact that despite being in a EU single market, Lego charges in its online shop arbitrary prices per country that are not related to VAT differences + enforces them through geoblocking.
  3. Same applies to Luxembourg where the VAT is lower than in Germany, so theoretically the price should be lower. Price is 139 EUR instead of 129 EUR in Germany, but you get free shipping. That is why I never buy on lego.com, unless there is no alternative like with the Saturn V. Typically I wait for good online offers or for supermarkt offers around Christmas, in particular for sets with low interest such as this year. It is sad but i never buy at my local toy store, it is just too expensive...
  4. I had a saved query on the 8145 on Marktplaats ... :-)
  5. Bought a used 8145 in excellent condition with booklets but without box for 100 EUR. Seems like a good deal to me given the prices that I see regularly for this set ...
  6. Thanks for sharing this cool GBC. I will look to collect the parts to build it with my daughter during the summer holidays.
  7. Wow! And everybody thought you only did motor cycles ... ;-) This really is a great build. My compliments! I like your eye for details. Take the sticker on the side with the different "codes", I don't know what they stand for, but it makes the truck look very realistic. I know that people here are happy to have their own scale modelling forum, but IMO if you had posted this in the Technic Forum, I would not be just the fourth person reacting to your post. Just my two cents ...
  8. Indeed! A too small aperture (high number) leads to diffraction: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/photographylife.com/what-is-diffraction-in-photography/amp.
  9. Now that you mention it, there is indeed a circle, but I thought it referred to the pins that are located next to the axle. Your instructions are excellent ...
  10. I have built nearly all Technic flagship sets in the last few years, but I find building this C-Model at times challenging and therefore very rewarding. You should not have an issue building it, the instructions are excellent, it is just too difficult for little children in my opinion. It is essential to collect the necessary pieces for each image and then to look where they fit. Sometimes you have to look several times before you see where a piece needs to be used. For instance the 8 axle on page 48. :-) This is one of the best recent Lego Technic set and buying the professional instructions by @M_longer is a no-brainer. For 10 USD you get hours of building pleasure.
  11. I guess it is due to the tracks and the necessary mechanism. Still makes it indeed an interesting set ... I may buy it after all just for the fun of building it as soon as I find a good deal.
  12. The cab video looks cool! I see that you have replaced the excavator bucket. Is that the custom 8043 excavator bucket by @LennyRhys? Looking forward to the instructions!
  13. Wow! I just saw your updated model. Amazing! I like that you guys continue using the old school Lego Technic wheels. They are the finishing touch in my opinion.
  14. Just wanted to tell you that I'm building your MOC and I'm impressed. The instructions are great, but this is not a set for inexperienced Lego Technic builders. Here is my progress so far ...
  15. Good idea! This seems like an excellent Lego Ideas candidate. Lego can sell different sets of figures to accompany the zoetrope device, although I like in particular the stormtroopers!
  16. Another great GBC from your mind/hands. I like the industrial look with the big "tandwielen" + chains. I'm sure it will be a success at Legoworld NL.
  17. Cool! One of the most beautiful cars ever build. Looking forward to the result!
  18. What an introduction indeed! Fabulous MOC. My compliments!
  19. I did not intend to buy this set, but the C-models of @Tomik often make me buy smaller sets. Keep up the great work!
  20. I agree that this is absolutely your best tank so far. Particularly impressed with the curves in the model. Looking forward to the publication on Rebrickable!
  21. Wow! Absolutely stunning. Not only perfect looks, but also functioning.
  22. I have made my pledge, let's hope it works out this time! Good luck!
  23. Thanks for the instructions! Looking forward to building this.
  24. Wow! A nice addition to your great collection of small functional Technic models. They are ideal for display purposes. Are you considering making instructions for them? I'm sure they would be big hit! Next an articulated hauler?
  25. Thank you very much! I'm really looking forward to building this. Have purchased the instructions also immediately.
