  1. Is your idea to use them or to keep them sealed in order to sell them in the future for a higher price? I also count only 12 sets: http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Technic/year-2013 I would guess that over the years most people are willing to pay only considerable more money for the flagship sets. The price of the 42009 will certainly rise over the years. Price of 41999 is already excessive ...
  2. My favourite Lego Technic sets: Old school Technic: 853 car chassis (my first flagship set. A must have if you like vintage Lego technic) New studless Technic: 8110 Unimog (brought me back into Lego Technic after 30 years)
  3. As I have no special lights, I usually take a picture using normal warm light and then correct the colour temperature in Lightroom by selecting a white object. Here is a picture I took with my iPhone without any colour correction and a normal warm light from the top. I have bought a used Nikon D700 for a good price and intend to start experimenting a bit with Lego Technic photography in the coming time. I will keep you posted on progress ...
  4. I gave a demo on metadata management in Lightroom yesterday in my photo club. Some members have difficulty understanding the logic of Lightroom, in particular where it concerns file management. I would recommend following some tutorials to understand the Lightroom basics. You will find many online, e.g. http://laurashoe.com/lightroom-articles-and-tutorials-for-beginners-and-those-troubleshooting-lightroom-issues/ I'm looking forward to your pictures!
  5. I second the use of Lightroom. Price has come down seriously since the first version and it is a good investment IMO for any serious photographer. Photo editing capabilities are largely sufficient for me, I never use Photoshop any more. You can assign metadata/keyword allowing you to retrieve your pictures easier. I always set my camera to create both a RAW and a JPEG file. Like this I can share the JPEG quickly if needed, but have the RAW for possible editing.
  6. JamesJT made the original model, Rishab made the LDD file ... Thanks for the instructions, but I think you should mention James indeed as creator of the MOC. This is one my favourite child hood cars. Will definitively build it!
  7. Offroadcreat1ons has created a C-model for 42054: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/146011-c-model-42054-monster-truck/
  8. Found the 42055 for 149 EUR in a local toy store. Am hesitating as I already have this set ...
  9. So maybe it will be two off-road trikes!
  10. There is a new C-model for 42043: A GBC module by PV Productions: http://pv-productions.com/product/lego-gbc-12-42043-building-instructions/
  11. After the excellent 2016 2h sets, I'm very disappointed with the 2017 sets. It looks to me as if the 2016 2h sets were intended for AFOLs and the 2017 sets for (little) children. The preliminary image of 42070 is cartoonesque. I can only guess that children reacted positively to it in preliminary workshops and consider the big wheels and the colour cool. To me it looks horrible and I would not consider buying it except for the parts. If my theory is right we AFOLs will have to wait for 2018 for the worthy successors of the 2016 Claas, Porsche, Volvo sets ...
  12. Price is probably fair. 8258 is indeed a classic and prices are increasing. Currently two sets for 145 EUR at Marktplaats.nl. This means you would get 8258 and 42039 for 50 EUR each which is fair. I'm not a fan of 8070, but these two sets are indeed good part packs. The only way to get 8258 cheaper is when somebody stops his Technic hobby and sells a whole lot for a fixed price. I got mine like this together with 8052, 8265, 8275, 8285, 8439, 8880 and 42009 ... :-) I assume you already have 42042 ...
  13. I would go as well for the 8043, it is getting very expensive. Good deals on the 42009 can be found more easily.
  14. It is a kind of advertising: for great Lego Technic MOCs. I personally enjoy Thirdwigg's yearly review of the best MOCs according to him. It has led me to discover some great MOCs and builders I would not have discovered otherwise.
  15. I'm speechless, also about the speed of your successive excellent creations!
  16. Wow, just discovered this in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations!
  17. A very happy and inspirational new year to you all! Greetings feom Luxembourg! Willem
  18. Thanks for this overview. I had missed some very interesting entries, amongst others your final winner and the ones from techlug.fr.
  19. Ha ha, hilarious! Impressive technical implementation. Body moves very realistically. Love your eye for detail/perfection such as the transparent bricks to connect Darth Vader. Have to watch this again!
  20. Thanks for the explanation and video. Clever solution ...
  21. Impressive! I like these type of practical machines. What I did not understand from the video is how you make sure that only one axle at the time is sent for scanning. What is the function of the grey bricks? Have you had jams?
  22. The 8848 and 8854 sets look like Unimogs, but are not called that officially so they are not licenced.
  23. Really very short-sighted of Lego not to provide you with all the Lego Technic sets of H1. Your reviews are always very informative and thorough. I cannot think of better free publicity. There are sets that I had not considered buying, but your reviews made me reconsider.
  24. I have just discovered your work. Amazing! Will follow it with much interest.
