Yeah, they certainly fit together well. How do you think his thigh is built? To me, it looks like a 6M B-Bone with a 4M Shell. I imagine that shell is in Bright Green, as that is what we have already gotten in Lewa before; it looks Trans Green to me on first glance though.

Thank you. I was wondering if there would be a way to attach it closer. I have built my method in real life and have to say that it is very proportionate to the leaked picture. It uses a 3M Technic Beam, 3L Friction Pin, 2L Friction Pin, and 1L Beam w/ Stud (sorry if this wasn't apparent in the LDD screenshots); pieces that could pretty easily be part of the set itself and it is no more complicated than Kopaka 2015's shins. It also has the added advantage of bulking out the shin significantly and allowing the placement of a shell to fill out the back and sides. If the actual set uses your method, I might end up changing it over. My original idea was born because I thought I saw him use a 1x2 Tile in Trans-Bright-Green to cover up the pins, but now I am thinking that might either be a trick of the light or part of his weapon. I have a photo I took directly comparing it to the leaked pic, but am not sure if it is allowed.

I whipped up a small prototype after someone on TTV mentioned Lewa's shins. I have never thought of using the Skrall armor, and now I am pretty hyped for it if they do end up including it. There is still a possibility they will remold it to attatch with two pins to a shell.

Okay, now that we have examples of many of the sets I am getting very excited for this series. I was at first apprehensive at first about the 'feathery' look and other rumors like the SW torso and no gearboxes. However, now that we have seen info fleshed out. I really love the theme of hunting versus unification. The Skull-Spider-expy-bear-trap-bugs look very sick, as does Umarak. The Toa themselves look even more like a unified team of individuals, and even though the Unification gimmick seems to be more along the lines of the Phantoka than a full-on combo model, I am also excited to see that in the flesh. Thank you to TwistLaw, CM4Sci, and Itaria for sharing all this information.

Oh man, these sets do sound promising. I am holding my breath on the SW torsos as well- if anything, I would like to see a similar piece but in a smaller size for the normal torso we have been using. It could look good, the main issue being its size and how that could impact the functions (as numerous people have said). The aesthetics of the sets sound super awesome, though, with all the feathers/crystals and melded pieces. I am extremely excited to get these in hand, as they sound like a very creative wave. Also, what kind of weapon is Kopaka said to have? I just might switch it out for Strakk's awesome axe.

Is anybody army building the Skulls?
TheDesuComplex replied to Thewyldman's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I am planning on getting extra copies of Warrior, Slicer, and Grinder for parts. I will also be making a villain for Gali like Takanuinuva out of parts from Warrior -
Yeah, it works really well and is fitting for the mask meant to go alongside the Mask of Creation AND work with a villain character. I am really excited to have it in-hand, hopefully next year. As to an earlier post about round parts on the MoCo: said part is where the sprue attaches the the part. I would imagine that there will be one somewhere. My best guess would be on the top of the head. That is really neat! Thanks for the find.

You dig giant robots! I dig giant robots! We dig giant robots! Oh man, that's a very fun (not so) little concept turning the Toa into giant mecha for the Protectors. That chest works wonderfully to pull in all the recognizable attributes of the original Kakama (which blew my mind when I realized it), and your adaptation of the set's aesthetics into more of a giant mecha style is spot on with all the little greebles and various features that callback to other famous series. Honestly, nothing but praise for this artwork, and am looking forward to seeing if/when you adapt the other Toa.

[Moc] Revamp of Onua Master of Earth
TheDesuComplex replied to Meltdown's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I saw both submissions to the sub, but I haven't commented on it yet. I love your MOC! You modified the proportions really well and made the limbs a great mix of longer and bulkier in a way that feels natural. I am sure I have seen those shins (made from the Mata feet) before, but they still stand out as a pretty darn great parts usage. I also like the use of smaller details, like the barbed wire on the chest and the light to the side of his head. On the Gold on Onua, I initially took it out for the same reasons. However, I added it back in recently and I have to say that it does add something. I can't place it, but he looks good with gold armor. Perhaps it looks like an exoskeleton of sorts on his limbs, or maybe metallic mechanisms or other kinds. It would help if he had more gold on the stock set, though, such as on the shoulderpads or back. -
While it is a gross oversimplification to say that every user of this forum is male, I must say that I haven't seen any users specifically with the 'Lady' tag. That tag is optional, so it makes sense that there might be some lurkers or users that choose not to get it for whatever reason. Speaking on Bionicle and Constraction, though, I imagine that the vast majority of fans are male because the marketing is oriented towards boys.

Thank you for the feedback. I said Nexo Knights because it is the new 'Big Bang' theme and it would make sense (to me at least) to debut it before the theme launches in January in a fashion similar to Bionicle's presence last year, with a giveaway, info about the fiction, and a panel debuting some sets featuring the designers of the theme; maybe not on the same skill, but still. It makes sense to keep up a presence of known themes though, and that's awesome to hear that it has a presence in Lego's appearances at stuff like conventions.

Isn't that what the already available 'Mask of Creation' game is like? It's a 'hack-n-slash', although I doubt it has anywhere near as much depth. That's another good idea. I liked the way they mixed elements in G1 when the Toa worked cooperatively and think that would be a fun mechanic. Yeah, and make it way more in-depth than switching out armor on the Toa. Choosing an element, name, and building them from the ground up.

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
TheDesuComplex replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Dang, these really make me want to have a Toa wielding a lightsaber in the future. Sadly, though, I imagine it is one of the parts that cannot be used in other themes for licensing purposes. -
Why do people keeping pining for leaks? Last year was not something that will be repeated because photos had to go out to retailers early because of the reveal happening in October, and the reason that reveal even happened so early is because Bionicle was a returning theme with a huge fanbase. I do like the point brought up by Quisoves Pugnat though- that the leaks gaining so much traction last year might have pushed Lego to tighten up their security even more. There is no reason to expect leaks and info at the same time this year because Bionicle is now a normal theme that is just getting another wave, same as City and Star Wars and everything else. IF Lego does do an NYCC event, it will probably be about Nexo Knights. That's a huge IF though. Also, I don't get what everyone is talking about with the Nexo Knights having constraction figures- it is pretty unreasonable (to me) to expect the $10 'Ultimate' sets to be CCBS-based. I am expecting them to be more along the line of Chima's Legend Beasts and this MOC, small System-based figures that implement the towballjoints.

I hope the oppossite- that we use some bulk from a $20 Kopaka (one of the main complaints about him this year was being more bulky than we are used to and this would be both a great response to that and a chance for us to see how they tackle him at another price) and give it to the $10 Melum (enabling him to be a bigger creature than the others which might go in-hand with a story signifigance of some sort).

I've always wondered about the mold mechanics that you and Aanchir have mentioned quite a number of times. What necessitates a more complex mold than the regular front/back one and, although I can sort of guess the what they are and how they work, what is a slider and how does it make the mold more complex?

About time that the Lego Store sold polybags! I imagine they are selling off the excess stock of them, and I hope that this is how the Villain Pack is debuted.

It's a long shot, but I want to believe. CM4Sci, have you seen 'Deleted' before and, if so, what does it usually mean? I am betting they had the idea for a 'Booster Pack' and scrapped it, but it was far enough along in development that it has a number dedicated to it.

I have a feeling that 'Scorpio' might just be the name of the animal instead of 'Scorpion'. This would mean that he hates 'Scorpios' in general and recognized that the Skull Scorpios are just giant zombie skeleton versions of those.

As I have said before, last year was different. Bionicle was debuted at NYCC because it was a returning theme with a large existing fanbase (possbily also because there was a huge leak that had a lot of traction online), and it is pretty unreasonable to expect them to have another large Bionicle panel again if it is just another theme they have running. I also highly doubt that Lego will show off new sets anytime before their release until the official pictures go up.

I am okay with them taking their time, as it keeps the battles from getting too hectic and gives the opportunity to 'showcase' each seperate villain. I also like that it makes the enemies tiered of sorts, which I think of in terms of a video game- The Skull Spiders are the tutorial horde monsters, LoSS the first boss, Warrior the second level, Slicer the second boss, Scorpio the third level, Basher the third boss, and Grinder the final boss who curbstomps you unless you recruit Ekimu sometime along your quest.

[Review] 8515 RoboRider Wheels
TheDesuComplex replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
That box is awful. So huge and wasteful! Makes me very glad that they switched to polybags for small sets. The concept of these (along with the Roboriders theme as a whole) is very original and interesting, if quite a bit weird. -
Lego has just released a financial document detailing strong growth in the first half of the year. Sadly, Bionicle is not mentioned, but it is good to see that Lego is doing well.

That's very interesting. This means that this concept art was produced after the sets had been finalized, which isn't that surprising. I didn't realize this at first and thought they were painted on like how it was in the first concept art. Yeah, that was always a pipe dream and while it is a shame to see that it is not an October release there is still hope for November and December.

As always, you have gotten a really good curvature with your choice of parts and used them in ways that really lend themselves to the final figure. I like that he has the choice between a sword and an arm cannon.
