  1. Those are included in the first Chi Laval ultrabuild. You did a really good job bulking this creation out in all the right ways to bring across the character of the set. A number of really good piece uses like the hip skirts made from (what I have dubbed) the 'Regal' Armor piece, back gear from an early System gear, and Dark Red shells from clone sets. As an American I'm also quite envious of your Trans Neon Orange 5M A-Bones.
  2. Love the integration of the Trans Purple Glitter. This set also follows a color scheme introduced with the Skull Villains (Silver/Gunmetal with a Transparent accent color) that works swimmingly well. Are those large bone spikes in a Silver color from a clone set?
  3. Very nice use of pieces from a clone set! The Dark Blue looks surprisingly good translated to shiny CCBS parts. It's pretty awesome that you take those exclusive pieces and integrate them into your MOCs. That's also a simple and surprisingly good build for a crossbow integrating the spring-shooter.
  4. Oops, I had meant to say 'Not all pieces are available in this color yet' instead of 'They aren't available in all colors yet'. The torso bone is one such piece along with the 9M and 7M A-Bones.
  5. Yeah. To me, most of the desirable pieces on Cody are pieces that will be available on the First Order Stormtrooper (white 4M shells, white SW shin shells) or pieces in colors I don't use (the shoulderpads). I'm holding out for the Stormie and choosing him over Cody for those reasons. If you have issues with black bones contrasting with white shells, have you tried using dark bley bones? They aren't available in all colors yet, but I find they they work better with light colors like white and orange.
  6. Yup, that's what I was thinking. They were put together to promote the Uniter gimmick. I can't really figure out if there is a trap in their set, but I assume there would be one for Melum. It's still a shame that Melum is pretty much a recolored Terak and does not seem to be unique, which I doubt can be chalked up to prelims.
  7. I am hoping that Terak and Melum have the same function that moves in a similar way to the 2015 gearboxes; I think that it will look better with Savage Planet paws than with Onua's shovels. Akida having a six shooter is a shame, as it would have been great to give them a function that makes their tail whip side-to-side to look like swimming.
  8. That's what I did too. Eventually I tried out some Trans Bright Green instead but reverted it back to keetorange. I definitely agree that it adds something to Lewa that I can't quite place and gives his color scheme plenty of variety. I guess it's time for me to give my opinions on the new sets now that I've had a few days to peruse the pictures. Be warned, long walls of bullet points. General/Parts: Toa: Creatures:
  9. Yeah, I thought off the top of my head that Hakaan had Zaktan's weapon, and Jaller did use gold chest armor and weapons.
  10. To be a bit fair, red and gold had not been used as much, and Lhikan was pretty much the first figure that I can think of that did it and he looked dang good doing it. After him and the polybag came Hakaan and Tahu Stars, and I don't remember seeing it much if at all in Hero Factory. Tahu uses it, and now Tahu 2015 and Ikir use it. Looking back at it that way... I dont think it's overused at all. Now, saying another color is inherently better is flawed logic because color schemes are always subjective.
  11. Oh man, I was wondering why the color scheme of black and purple/gold seemed familar to me. I really regret missing out on this set. As to the eyestalks, I have five extra Trans-Neon-Green eyestalks so I do not really worry about it; of course, they could possibly change the eyestalks.
  12. Their gearbox worked with a joint that was already there, and as such you cannot tell if it is the gearbox or the shoulders that is moving. Grima's point is that the suppossed gearbox would introduce a new axis of rotation that was not available before and as such it would be obvious if it was used. I myself think this can be chalked up to prelims.
  13. Ackar was my favorite set that used the Inika build. I think I will like Tahu 2016 too for a similar reason- to me, the disparity in textures is not a big deal, and it looks to me like he combines many disparate pieces into a great silhouette and overall look. Him and Onua are probably gonna be Day One purchases for me. I'm also really, really hoping for a Makuta/Rahkshi/Vahki-esque torso rotation powered by gears. Onua, Gali, and Pohatu all use two-handed staff weapons that could benefit greatly from a sweeping side-to-side motion, Lewa and Tahu have weapons that could swing outwards when the torso rotates, and Kopaka's sword (as seen in the Unity position) could also be used in this fashion.
  14. It's believed that it is a theme across all the Unity models. We are not sure how the heck it connects. I suspect a new eyestalk that lets the Creature's head mount in the back, like this. There's also the possibility it hooks onto a loop on the back of the mask akin to how the Brain Attack visors attached.
  15. Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting the trans-purple parts for this exact purpose. There also seems to be a 5M A-Bone on Onua's forearms, btw.
  16. How about a MoCo melded in black and trans neon orange to match Makuta as seen when he donned the MoUP? Not canon, but if Makuta has stayed transformed it would be cool for him to have his mask in matching colors. There's also the possibility that Ekimu might feature a MoCr recolored in melded gold and trans light blue (ala his Protector mask) and as such there could be a gold-and-trans-purple MoCo to match it. Just throwing ideas out, y'know. Which reminds me that, at this point, we will never see a melded Mask of Fire or melded Mask of Water. sigh.
  17. Heck, if they want to emulate his TFA look, they could dual mold it in Dark Tan as well. I'm not sure how well it will fit ion though considering that it supposedly has pistons on the base.
  18. Hmm, an underground jungle. Where have we seen that before?
  19. Just a part here or there, like the stand in MMvSG or the back of the leg on the First Order Stromtrooper. Not a ton. Looking at Onua's shoulder, I am seriously considering the torso shown in the SW commercial being a thing. Using that could give a very nice mounting point using these pieces to use these pieces for shoulders. Also on pieces, I wonder if the sword is a mix of Tahu's fire swords and Furno's plasma swords. EDIT: Uxar has 4L bones in Trans Bright Green.
  20. In the background I can see what looks like a white-and-black Chi Fluminox and another figure that is running on a ledge. Could these possibly be Storm Beast and Quake Beast? It reminds me vaguely of graphics from 'The Maze Runner', which would be an interesting plot point where the United Toa have to navigate a maze inhabited by the Beasts and Umarak. Also, it was brought up that the creatures could go unnamed; I think that they will be named cryptid legendary beasts. Think along the lines of Loch-Ness or Bigfoot. By sentient I mean that they will understand and think, but maybe not communicate. I DEFINITELY do not want them to just say their names like Pokemon.
  21. I think that Gali could include 5L Trans-Blue armor on her shins and lower arms and 3L Dark Azure armor on her thighs and upper arms. Just throwing the possibility out.
  22. Yeah, I'm... not too impressed with this new armor piece. I was hoping they would stick to CCBS and not make armor pieces that attach via Technic. Can't say that I am impressed with the chest armor either, it looks pretty cluttered, moreso than the Breakout and Brain Attack shells. I'm super excited for the Mask of Control at least.
  23. Has there been any in-store sightings yet? I saw the BTTF Level Pack out at my Target today.
  24. I wonder if they are far enough along on the development process that Lego would be able to unveil them. Preliminary pictures are included in retailer's catalogs just four or so months prior to release and final HQ pictures are usually only added a month prior to release. I'm assuming that Lego's production process means it is not finalized until the last second, and if so I am not sure how easily they could do early announcements. Following with your example, we know about and have pictures of TF products through next Spring/Summer, but we have only seen computer renderings and painted prototypes. Not sure how Lego could do it in a similar vein. There's also the issue brought up with TFA leaks- wouldn't licensees want their products to be kept under wraps, and as such, create a disparity between official Lego products (announced early) and licensed Lego products (announced at the last second)
  25. I think we could also see Gali a bit better, along with the creatures of Water, Jungle, Stone, and Ice. It seems that time will tell though, as long as 4chan doesn't pressure the leaker into not posting Bionicle pics.
