  1. Oh boy, the last time I paid $50 for a mask was in 2009, and it came with an extra 365 pieces for free! For real though, I am glad that the exclusive masks aren't as expensive as minifigures, but that is due to supply and demand.
  2. Yup, it went live a while ago and I already retweeted it. As of 40 minutes it is sitting around 800, so your chances are at least better than the minifigures. Also, they are giving away a total of ten, not just one. Edit: here is the link to the tweet! The good thing about it (thank you Leewan for the comparisons!) is that since it is smaller at the top it will work better as far as articulation goes. I have some troubles with Tahu's ankles because the armor is so bulky.
  3. Can you share the dimensions of it, and perhaps some comparisons with other armor pieces? As far as I know, it roughly goes like this: August- first rumors and rumblings September- concrete rumors October- early leaked pictures November- better leaked pictures December- actual lego pictures January- release (in some places) Remember that getting the leaks so early last year was an anomaly.
  4. The best option I could think of is that it is either an extra piece to bolster parts counts a tiny bit,but it is a better idea to think that it is a sort of building guide to keep kids from putting the gearbox too high?
  5. I certainly like the way you built Ekimu's back, he looks much more humanoid in proportionswith the narrower shoulders. I would personally suggest making a small place to fit his hammer.
  6. I can hear the rabid screams of System fans who think that Lego is 'shorting them a minifigure'. I find this mask an interesting choice (I would have done a Transparent Yellow MoCr, for example), but it might make Scorpio look a bit better. Wonder if it is in homage to the Miru? I am very excited to get the summer wave in-hand, and am looking forward to getting news about where they will pop up in the US. My guess isn't that Target will leak them like last wave, but they will see a normal early-TRU-release.
  7. Congrats on winning first place! That is certainly an amazing achievement. A creative idea also, taking the tournament play pattern and applying it to Bionicle. My favorite touch is that the Protectors are for the most part identical, outside of color schemes and weapons. This certainly gives a feeling of equality that reaches across the set, which is great because one of the kids that would be playing with this theoretical set is not sad they received the 'worst' figure. Also, thanks for reminding me that I need to get some of the large gold beast feet (which are used wonderfully as a point counter).
  8. "Frogtor was a man... Er, he was a frog-man... Or maybe... He was just a frog." Excellent use of the IFB petals and Corroder's spikes to create organic flow. This guy looks like a mess, but that certainly isn't a bad thing; it works extremely well for a swamp creature of sorts. The mono-eye is odd, but I like the way that you used shells to create a head with a mean jaw. Not too sure on the metallic components though; what's the story behind those?
  9. I doubt they will be put out so early in the US. I do like the idea that they pushed the release forward to allow time for the Star Wars sets, so I am betting that the US will be an earlier than usual release as well, perhaps with sets starting to pop up near the latter part of June or early July.
  10. I guess it's time for me to write up my planned modifications! All of them: Skull Warrior: Skull Scorpio Skull Slicer Skull Basher Skull Grinder
  11. (Edited with more replies) Okay, sorry. I'm not particularly good at reverse engineering either. Thank you for this version. I'm sorry, do you mean this part or this part? Could you possibly share a picture of your modification in the thread? If you are referring to the mask that was released as part of the Inside Tour, that was a non-canon promotional mask that isn't blended gold like these are.
  12. Here's a model that someone on here (sorry for not remembering who!) made, reverse engineered from Toy Fair pics: Even though that's a rough idea, it should give you some idea.
  13. Thank you so much for the pictures! It is awesome to see these guys in-hand. Could you take some more photos of the new pieces, like the masks, armor, and weapons? Yeah, I am going to wait unitl I get the armor piece in-hand to see if I will keep it for the reason that it is far too bulbous and bulky looking. I would recommend Basher and Warrior. This means that you get all of the new parts and plenty of good pieces.
  14. Oh, ok! That makes more sense. Not sure why I was thinking that slope. The 90 degree technic connector in the middle will swing up, which knocks the missile and shoots it.
  15. I also looks to not be a Kaiju fin but rather the same System slope used for his blaster.
  16. That is a really good point- this might very well be the rumored launcher. I would like to note that it does contain the actual spring launcher inside of it- seems to be upside down, meaning that there are stud connections. Edit w/ what I said in the other thread: I imagine that the entire wave will all be EpVII themed, so that means that there will be three protagonists and another two antagonists. I am guessing Finn, Rey, Poe, Snoke, Stormie, and the Sith seen in the trailers. I am definitely getting this set.

  18. This. Even if they can't make the figures themselves more feminine (which I would rather they not try too hard, for fear of getting into Roodaka territory) I would at least like for them to be female within the story.
  19. New banner, updated tags, updated review index. No need to rush the mods though, I am sure we will get these in due time.
  20. Awesome to see these new bios. With my Skull villains I will be giving all of them skull spider masks with the idea that they are reanimated by, and then controlled by, the Skull Spiders; nice to see that is also Lego's idea for at least one of them.
  21. And so we have confirmations of $17/$40 for the Canadian Market.
  22. LEGO Gundam 2016 confirmed! Really though, I was wondering why the lightsbaer bits seemed oddly familiar and you hit it on the head. These sets do, as many others have said, look far better than Darth Vader and Luke. These two will most likely be the initial purchases for me and I imagine many others. That sounds like an amazing idea right there. Sort of like the Mindstorms set, but without all the expensive electronics.
  23. Ackar. He is the epitome of the Inika build, and does pretty much everything well from the proportions to his weapons.
  24. My least favorite constraction set I have gotten is Toa Mata Nui. While I am glad I got him now for the golden Ignika and the parts, the design is terrible and it felt like such a letdown, especially when I had used all my birthday money on it. The Avmatoran/Agori/Stars sets are a close second, because while they look good their lack of complexity and articulation is what kills them. As to Hero Factory and CCBS, I would have to agree on Aquagon. The humanoid fishman thing did not translate well into the set and it was incredibly bland. I did actually really like Bruizer and the attempt at an interesting function. Breakout Nex wasn't very cohesive and felt like the worst Hero set out of the series.
