  1. Models in next 2 posts are not new just consolidating in to one thread. QUASAR-FIRE CRUISER Hi again all The first model here is not a new one. It is the Quasar-Fire Carrier, or Phoenix Home cruiser/carrier. Fans of the old EU will recognise this as a version of the Flurry. and on display with Commander Sato. IMPERIAL TROOP TRANSPORT The second MINI model (not new) is the Imperial Troop Transport from Star Wars Rebels. I am really fond of this vehicle as I had the original Kenner toy. I am really pleased with how this little model has turned out. I had 3 or 4 different ways of building the 6 troop pods but finally went for the 1x1 brackets with a tile. I think they work well. And a la planets with Agent Kallus: Any further models from SW Rebels will be added to this topic so keep an eye open! ;-) Let me know what you think. Jon GHOST & PHANTOM Hello again everyone I present today two new models. One is a MOD of a SDCC exclusive model and the other is new. I am sure you can guess which one is which. ;-) First up the Ghost. Of course this is the MOD of the exclusive from a few years ago. I have of course filled in the minifig seat and added the gun on top. I have also added a slot at the back for a micro phantom. It wasn't too tricky to turn this microfightrer in to a MINI. to be honest this has been built for quite a long time and I remember changing quite a few things but I can't remember! ;-) You can see the little Phantom in the last picture. And here is the little Phantom on its own. And here is the Ghost on display with Hera. Now for the Phantom. I had built and displayed the LEGO version which was on available in the surprise bag from Disneyland (i think). I was never really happy with their version so i recently finally got round to building my own version. I am happy with how this little model has turned out. It is a pretty simple build but i think the front section is quite clever with the use of a modified brick, bracket and technic liftarm piece to attach the front cannons. Here is a comparison pic with the LEGO version: And on display a la planets with Kanan. Let me know your thoughts. Jon INTERDICTOR CRUISER Hi again everyone I don't normally take requests but i had planned to build an Interdictor Cruiser. Once again Rebels is using an old design from the EU for this. I have gone against the normal convention on this one of building Star Destroyer models with wedge plates. Instead I have used slope bricks and the bricks with studs on 2 sides so that I can attach the gravity wells in the same way top and bottom. The new(ish) 2x2 round tiles with one stud come in very handy for the gravity wells. ;-) Here it is: And as usual on display a la Planets: Let me know what you think. Jon TIE DEFENDER Hello again The Interdictor was the starter and here is the main course. yet another vehicle borrowed from the EU for Rebels is the Tie Defender. That old triangle technic piece has come in very handy for this one. the 3 sets of panels have been attached using 4L bars and clip plates. The ring type clip has been used to attach the bar to the technic piece and the other type of clips to attach the panels to the bar. The new 2x2 wedge plates have been used for the back part of the wings. And on display a la planets with Grand Admiral Thrawn. I am very pleased with how this turned out. Let me know your thoughts. Jon
  2. Thanks very much. Ever since my childhood I thought it was just a modified bomber as I said To any still non-believers: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/TIE/sh_shuttle
  3. TIE SHUTTLE Hi again everyone A quick model this time – The Tie Shuttle from Empire Strikes Back. The TIE/sh shuttle, also known as the TIE Command Shuttle, was a model of armoured shuttle manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems for the Galactic Empire. It was designed to transport Imperial officers plus a squad of stormtroopers between Imperial-class Star Destroyers. Captain Lorth Needa of the Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger made his final space voyage aboard such a ship to the Executor before being executed by Darth Vader. The wings of the TIE/sh were bent outward to fulfil Imperial officers' requests for a design distinct from the TIE bomber – and It was this bit of information that made me think of building it. Until a while back I always assumed this ship was a modified Tie Bomber with the same wing configuration (didn’t everyone?) and I already have a Tie Bomber in my collection from the Planets Series. The old story board drawings for ESB do show the outward wings but it is not clear in the movie itself. I have made the wings point outwards using click plates and plates with handles. No real interesting techniques on the model– this was just something I could build with my stash of LEGO – I just had to order the figure – and for completeness’ sake. Stay safe. Jon
  4. I forgot to mention with the UA-TT that the light grey and black pieces (for the mostpart) are due to lack of availability of those pieces in dark grey. PS. Lockdown means there are plenty of models in the pipeline so watch this and other threads which pop up! Original trilogy, Prequels, Clone Wars and more Ep IX on the way............ I might drip feed or I might drop a bomb, depends on bricklink deliveries!
  5. REBEL TRANSPORT Hello again everyone Following on from my Snowspeeder post a few weeks back I realised I had neglected to build the Rebel Transport from Empire Strikes Back. So I decided to rectify that. There are no really tricky elements to this build. It does switch from 2 to 3 studs at the bottom using the new 2x3 jumper plates. This then allows the 5-stud wide main body to get the shape at the front. It is not as round at the front as it should be but you can’t always do everything in this scale and you have to approximate. It also uses the old finger hinge plates to attach the side “panels”. It would have needed a 1 plate high gap between the clip/hinge and the main body to use clips or the clicky hinges so sometimes old is better! Hope you like it Jon OUTRIDER Hello again everybody A quick little model this time Dash Rendar’s Outrider as seen briefly in Ep. IV taking off from Mos Eisley. This was put together very quickly while I had a bit of builders block on another model. I have built this using the same techniques in the magazine gift Millennium Falcon and my version of the Kessel Run Falcon: They are from the same manufacturer after all so it only seems right to build them the same way! Anyway, nothing earth shattering build wise in this model but it does the job! I have also built a custom Dash Rendar minifig using only official parts which is a rarity for me. Hope you like it and more soon. Jon Just consolidating these in to one thread so can keep them together when new ones are added.
  6. Thanks. It is a weird design but it made for an interesting build! It's always fun when you find a solution for weird ships/vehicles.
  7. UA-TT Hello again everyone Something different/other than starships this time and carrying on my Rise Of Skywalker series is the The Urban Assault Triped Transport, or UA-TT, which was a First Order walker used for pacification operations. The UA-TT could deploy its central limb for stabilized firing and clearing pathways etc. In order to use heavy machinery in an urban area, the First Order deploys UA-TT walkers as opposed to the larger, heavier AT-M6 walkers. This is done so the city in question is not destroyed during occupation. It was nice to build something different as new or different techniques are needed for a walker as opposed to a starfighter. Having said that this was quite a tough build, especially getting the front limb and claw to be in scale with the rest of the build. Not for the first time I discovered the pieces I needed in my son’s LEGO pieces especially the droid arm piece which attached the whole limb! It took me a while to work out how to do the claw until I realised I could attach four of the bar holder/clip pieces along the length of a t-bar without them falling off! I could then attach the claw pieces to the bar holders. The rear section/wedge is attached using a clip plate and plate with a handle. The head actually drove the scale of the rest of the model. The model has all the features of the vehicle and is fully poseable. I am really pleased with how this one turned out as at first I had no idea how to build it in this scale! Anyone else think that the head of this walker looks like HR Giger’s xenomorph from the Alien series? Anyway let me know what you think. More models soon – plenty of spare time at the moment! Jon
  8. @martinsuper Hi, I don’t have a parts list as I do not build virtually and only order parts I do not have from BrickLink. You should be able to easily work out the parts from the exploded pictures earlier in the thread. Or you could contact the member above who has kindly created a studio file!
  9. BESTOON LEGACY Hello again everyone, I hope everyone is keeping safe. Continuing my Episode IX Series today is the Bestoon Legacy. The Bestoon Legacy, a WTK-85A interstellar transport, was the starship of Sith loyalist Ochi. Ochi died after sinking in the Shifting Mires of Pasaana, leaving his ship behind. With the First Order having confiscated the Millennium Falcon, Poe Dameron and Finn revive the Bestoon Legacy for a hasty trip to Kijimi. Rey also has a strange feeling that she’s seen the ship before! This was a trickier build than it looks in this scale. The cockpit for a start was quite tricky to work out. The shape is still not completely accurate but I think this is as good as you can do at this scale. I have used the bricks with 2 studs on adjacent sides and attached the parts around those. The main body is 5 studs wide and the cockpit 2 so I have used those useful 1 x3 jumper plates with 2 studs to offset these. The engines are also attached using technic pins to the body with the 2 x2 round bricks with holes. The rear section also uses some technic parts to get the increased diameter at the rear. Also getting the “spoiler” at the rear to sit on the engines took a bit of playing around with a bracket piece at the back (it is less than a whole stud thick). I think it turned out pretty well shape wise etc, it probably looks a bit “new” but due to the pieces required to get the shape it was not possible to put enough greebling etc in to get the desired effect. Different colours (dark grey, tan) also made it look too patchy. Maybe this is how it looked when Ochi got it from the dealership! ? I have also created a custom Ochi Of Bestoon figure (I have had to glue on the headphones - meh). Let me know what you think. Jon
  10. TIE DAGGER This has been added from a previous thread. The TIE/dg starfighter, also known as the TIE dagger, or the Sith TIE fighter, was a type of Sith affiliated TIE line starship that was forged in secret by forces under the command of the reborn Emperor Palpatine and seen in Ep. IX during the Battle of Exogol. The new pointed wedge plates are perfect this little ship. They also come in dark red and I was toying with adding some of these to the model to add the red edges to the panels but to hide them to show the right amount of red would have made the panels 3 studs thick and too wide so i ditched that idea. I have managed to add the little gap between the panels and the light grey part at the back from the original design of the ship. I have done this using clip plates and the 1 x1 round plate with bar. Apart from that it is a simple build and once again it is on display with a minifig - the Sith Trooper. Hope you like it. Jon
  11. thanks. do you mean what looks like a modified P38? A clone wars version is already on my to do list. And after looking at this episode again I might have to have a go at the prison ship too.
  12. I saw this MOC on Reddit - would be nice if LEGO came up with something like this but I won't hold my breath.
  13. RIOT MAR'S STARFIGHTER Hello again everyone The Lockdown has given me the chance to watch this excellent series. There aren't too many new ships to build from it (after the Razor Crest) but the Bounty Hunter Riot Mar's Starfighter is one of them. It does fly accross the screen really fast though! This is quite a simple build. The long nose is only 2 studs wide so I have used a few plates/tiles to try and give it the illusion of being tapered. The engines attached to the wings have been built using 1 x 1 brackets and plates/ingots at either side of the wing to hold them in place. I have added this to the thread for Razor Crest as I did not think this ship deserved its own thread. I have also had to make a custom Riot Mar minifig - all with official parts. The flight suit is the old Bossk torso if anyone is interested. More new stuff soon. Jon
  14. Thanks guys. I would imagine the official set will be made with plates and have lots of gaps. As for the tiles and greebles it just would not look right with studs everywhere. You are right though in the photos the lack of studs does disguise its size somewhat.
  15. NEW MODELS WILL APPEAR IN THE REPLIES TO THIS THREAD Models now included in this thread: Night Buzzard Tie Dagger Bestoon Legacy UA-TT DN-25 Treadable Sea Skiff Fortitude "Lucky Lander" Xyston-Class Star Destroyer (NEW) NIGHT BUZZARD Hi all To celebrate the home release of Ep. IX here is one of the interesting vehicles form the movie. The Night Buzzard was a modified Oubliette-class transport used by the Knights of Ren. The Knights made several alterations to the Night Buzzard to better suit their tastes, such as altering the vessel's appearance to match their dark side aesthetic. The vessel's engines were also crudely modified to generate more thrust, although this took a toll on the insulation baffles, causing the Buzzard to spew noxious gas as it flew. It was well armed, with a forward laser cannon turret, a mid ship laser cannon turret, a rear heavy laser cannon turret, and rear-facing fixed laser cannons. The Night Buzzard served as the home of the Knights of Ren, as well as their transport. I have got most of the features in to this little model, although no noxious gas I’m afraid! The angles of the sides and front have been achieved by using hinge bricks. They just happened to fit together nicely after a bit of playing around. It is a little bigger than maybe I would have liked but the build method dictated that but apart from that I am really pleased with how this one turned out. It still fits on the display stand with the Knight Of Ren minifigure so it is not massive! I hope everyone is well in these trying times. Luckily LEGO can keep us busy for a while. Let me know what you think. Jon
  16. Cheers. Shame they are not from a great series. My son likes it anyway and it gave me some material to build from.
  17. YELLOW ACE Hello again everyone Today I present the last of the Aces - the Yellow Ace. The Yellow Ace was a customized "Changeling" Mark 71NB piloted by Bo Keevil, who performed stunts and tricks while flying it. It was a complex ship to fly, and had wings that could shift into a variety of configurations which I have tried to incorporate in to this little model. I am pleased with how this little model has turned out and again it's yellow colour adds a bit of colour to the collection. I have made the moveable wings by using clip plates and bars and ball joints for the wing tips. No earth shattering techniques on this one and like a lot of these racers has been built along a spine of bricks with studs on the sides. I have had to paint the head on the custom minifigure but apart from that it is all original parts. I think I will now take a break from Resistance. I might revisit the Colossus and Jaeger's racer in the future but the return of the Clone Wars has made me revisit some of my old models and update those with newer pieces and also build some vehicles I had forgotten about. There are also ships from Ep. IX to build too....... Let me know what you think and stay safe. Jon
  18. Thanks again. Yes it definitely is more than just a ball with panels like the official set.
  19. Thanks very much. Yes, I wonder what those pieces in grey would be used for? And dark red too..........
  20. Hi all I thought I would take a break from Resistance models and publish something more interesting/popular. This has actually, for the most part, been built for a while but I was just waiting for those black pointed 2 x 4 wedge plates from Bricklink from the official Sith Fighter set. Jon
  21. GREEN ACE Hi again everyone I am working my way through the Aces and this week it is the turn of the Green Ace and Hype Fazon. The Green Ace was a modified G30 ship piloted by Hype Fazon. The racer's wings could shift angles for maximum maneuverability while flying and of course I have built this feature in to the little model. Again this ship adds a bit of colour to the collection - this time green (obviosuly!). Nothing too flashy with the build - it is built along 1x1 bricks with studson all sides and technic bricks. It then shifts from 1 stud wide to 2 using a 1x2 technic brick. I think this is quite a nice looking little model and again apparently this ship is in the large fleet at Exegol in Ep. IX. I have also made a custom Hype Fazon minifigure using transparent stickers and i think this one is my best custom figure to date. One Ace left - no prizes for guessing that one. Let me know what you think of this one (and the others). Jon
  22. Very nice work again. I really like the Slave 1 - a bit bigger than I would build (not a criticism in any way). I always liked the Brickmaster Slave 1 but yours is like that on steroids!
