  1. Hi, The little ship is basically 4 separate builds. Top, bottom and 2 sides. It looks like you are almost there. ;-) Below are links to pics of the top bottom and most importantly one of the sides. Feel free to ask for further help. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6389318 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6389319 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6389320 The first 4 1x2 "plates" you see on the top of the side are the brackets which hold the side panels.
  2. it is this piece. http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=42023#T=S&C=86&O={"color":86}
  3. Hi, apologies for late reply. Had technical issues,illness etc. I assume that exploded pics are not required? I would love to see another version so feel free to post some pictures. Thanks again for the psitive feedback everyone.
  4. Of course, I will take it apart and show the various sections at the weekend. Unfortunately I am off to Germany for a couple of days with work otherwise I would do it before. It is pretty simple though, just 4 2x2 brackets holding the side panels on. As for reverse engineering - GO FOR IT. That is the whole point of sharing models.
  5. Thanks for the positive feedback everybody. ;-)
  6. See replies in this thread for NEW models - I have consolidated all models from Ep. VII from other topics in to one thread (I had time on my hands during lockdown!) Models in this thread - FIRST ORDER TRANSPORTER REY'S SPEEDER FIRST ORDER SNOWSPEEDER BASE DEFENSE WALKER RESISTANCE TRANSPORT QUADJUMPER ERAVANA Original Posts: FIRST ORDER TRANSPORTER Hi again everyone I have managed to find the time to piece together this little model of the First Order Transporter (Normandy Landing Craft J ) from TFA. The ship itself is actually quite long and the LEGO model is far too stubby. The size of this model was dictated by the use of the technic pieces for the engines. These pieces are perfect for this part of the model. It is actually quite a simple build but I am really happy with how it turned out and have managed to include most of the features. Let me know your thoughts. Here is the model: …… REY's SPEEDER The next MINI model is from Episode VII and is Rey's Speeder. This is a simple little build and all came from the front section and worked backwards. Was something nice and simple to break my drought. FIRST ORDER SNOWSPEEDER I managed to pick up the First Order Snowspeeder Microfighter over the New Year in our local Sainsburys. I thought with a little modification it could be turned in to a nice little MINI model. I wouldn’t go as far as saying this turned in to a complete rebuild but not far from it. There are a few parts of the build that have remained the same; the nose section (although lengthened by a couple of plates), the basic shape and the vents at the back. The rest has been completely rebuilt so the Microfighter was basically a template. The seats have been redone so the black slope pieces are vertical, the gun replaced, I have removed most of what was underneath and the engines are a completely new build as they were just too big. I have also added the fins (or wings) to the engines. It would have been so easy for the designer to add these to the brackets on the original Microfighter’s engines. Did they forget to put the pieces on or did they run out of budget on the piece count? ;-) Anyway here is the model: Let me know what you think JON
  7. thanks again. That's the fun of lego. If you are not happy with the lego version you can change it!
  8. Thanks.
  9. Hi again everyone. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. I managed to pick up the First Order Snowspeeder Microfighter over the New Year in our local Sainsburys. 10. Thanks for your kind words. Glad you like the models. Hopefully I get some more time to build something new very soon....
  11. Thanks for the comments. As for having the budget for large TFA set, it is more about having the space. My 3 year olds stuff takes up over half the house! ;-)
  12. HI everyone I have not posted anything new for an awfully long time. Life has taken over. But at last, as the family have gone overseas for a couple of weeks to visit family I have had some time to myself and to build. ;-) The first new MINI model is from Episode VII and is Rey's Speeder. This is a simple little build and all came from the front section and worked backwards. Was something nice and simple to break my drought. http://www.brickshel... ... eeder1.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... eeder2.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... eeder3.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... eeder4.jpg And on display a la planets with Rey minifig: http://www.brickshel... ... isplay.jpg The second new MINI model is the Imperial Troop Transport from Star Wars Rebels. I am really fond of this vehicle as I had the original Kenner toy. I am really pleased with how this little model has turned out. I had 3 or 4 different ways of building the 6 troop pods but finally went for the 1x1 brackets with a tile. I think they work well. http://www.brickshel... ... sport1.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... sport2.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... sport3.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... sport4.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... nsort5.jpg again a la planets with Agent Kallus: http://www.brickshel... ... isplay.jpg And the final new model is the Sith Fury-Class Interceptor from the Old Republic. I have used hinge bricks so that the 4 wings open. Again no really complicated building techniques but it looks quite cool in my opinion. http://www.brickshel... ... hfury1.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... hfury2.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... hfury3.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... hfury4.jpg http://www.brickshel... ... hfury5.jpg and once again on display with Darth Malgus: http://www.brickshel... ... isplay.jpg FYI the display tiles have been done with glossy labels and an inkjet. If anyone wants the template let me know. Let me know what you think. I am sure there is some ring rust! ;-)
