I really like the professor, Dr. Cyber, that you brought along for the cruise.

I've only been collecting LEGO for a few years. Ironically, the cracked ones were all ones that I bought new. My classic ones are mostly purchased from ebay and bricklink. I also got a few from friends and trading at LEGOLAND. That's what leads me to the conclusion that the newer ones aren't as well made. Also, I live in northern Arizona and we get winter and summer here. It usually rains all month in July. So I'm not sure what effect, if any, the climate has on them.

@JPN366: I have about 7 modern minifigures that are cracked and those are the only ones I know of in my collection
-
I'm in Arizona and I always have clean hands when handling my LEGO. It is my observation that the newer torsos are much more likely to break than the older ones. I have many Classic Space sets as well as mini figures from the 70's, 80's and on. The only ones that have cracked are from the 2010's. I never tried contacting LEGO, but will do it now. I agree that LEGO does have excellent customer service. Thanks for your comments.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

The strange origins of the Time Cruisers theme

If they are in the comic, I wonder how they would explain why they like to twist time? And I also wonder how they would introduce Ingo/Ali? . -
The strange origins of the Time Cruisers theme
Arctic_Ace replied to jamesster's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
With all this new information somebody should edit the Time Cruisers page on the Brickipedia. I hope the Time Twisters are in the comic I was beginning to question if TT is canon. And best of luck trying to find the rest of the comic. -
If the costumes are made by a different company, are they real LEGO or are they "fake-o"? I would like to see LEGO release a "clothing store" with spare torsos, pants and headgear.

Does anybody know when the Fun at the Park set comes out?
-
I just got the LEGO 6375 Exxon gas station and it is fantastic! The set includes two gas station attendants and a customer. It is a fun build with lots of details like the "TURN OFF ENGINE" and "NO SMOKING" signs. In addition to the store with a cash register and map of Legoland, there are four gas pumps, a lift, tools, a broom, a shovel, spare tires, oil cans and two cars. The real fun starts when you start to play with the set. The lift really works and lifts the car high enough for the attendant to go under there and work on the car. The cars are really amazing. Since it is a gas station set you would expect there to be a couple of cars, but these cars actually have gas tank holes. It makes it really fun to play with because they have a little rope hose at the pump that can go into the hole. The car hoods swivel open so the attendant can check the water and oil too. The baseplate is a little thin, but functional, probably a cost cutting design. This set has 255 parts and 3 minifigures and only cost $20USD when it came out in 1980. At an average cost of just under 8 cents per brick, I wish LEGO could make more sets that were inexpensive and had great play value like this set.

Johnny Thunder was first released in 1998. He was the star of four Adventurers themes from 1998-2003. He also appeared in LEGO Studios and Jurassic Park lll sets as well as several video games during this period. That was the last we heard of him until a brief appearance in 2010's LEGO Universe video game. Then, in 2014, Johnny made a dramatic cameo appearance in The LEGO Movie. This appearance led to the inclusion of a Johnny Thunder minifigure in set 70815 Super Secret Police Dropship. This was significant because LEGO created a whole new torso (part #973pb1724c01) and head (part #3626cpa3) for Johnny Thunder As of this posting that is the only set in which these new parts have been. Johnny also appeared in the 2015 Scooby Doo 75900 Mummy Museum Mystery on a sticker. Could this be the beginning of a Johnny Thunder comeback? Would LEGO create a new torso and head for just one set? Your comments are appreciated.

My Top 10 Favorite Unlicensed Minifigures
Arctic_Ace replied to Arctic_Ace's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Great picks guys! I really appreciate the photos, Eggyslav. They make your case really compelling. I really like Ace Brickman, Basil, Hotep, and Redbeard too. We all agree that the Zack head is awesome. The reason I picked Timmy #1 is because I was originally thinking of a best head list and then considered the whole outfit as well. I actually play with Timmy and he looks good in all his time cruising disguises. He always looks really happy too.- 8 replies

#10 - Nova Hunter Nova Hunter is the chief in the Exploriens theme He has a cool mustache and looks like a mature leader. His Explorien uniform with black hands looks awesome too. He was a cool enough character to be included in the LEGO Racers video game. #9 - Bob Bob is one of the first minifigures and is commonly used as a mascot by LEGO. The thing I like about Bob is his classic smiley face. Even though he only appeared in two sets, he is easy to build with classic smiley face, red torso and blue pants. #8 - Baron Von Baron Baron Von Baron (formerly known as Sam Sanister/Sinister, Evil EyeLord Sam Sinister, and Mr. Hates) was the main villain from the Adventurers and Orient Expedition themes. In the Egypt theme he tried to steal the Re-Gou ruby but failed. On Dino Island he tried to steal dinosaurs to open up a theme park. I like his monocle, cool mustache and hook hand. He is an awesome villain. He was also cool enough to be included in LEGO Racers 1 and 2 (though he has both hands in part 2) #7 - Tony Twister and Professor Millennium Tony Twister, alternately known as Baron Bloomberg in the United Kingdom, is a Time Twisters minifigure released in 1997. He is a villain and travels through time along with his twin brother, Professor Millennium, alternately known as Commodore Schmidt in the United Kingdom. I like Tony's mustache, leather hat and black jacket with yellow epaulettes. Millennium has the same cool hat and an awesome goatee beard. I put them here together because they are twins. #6 - Pepper Roni Pepper Roni is the star of the LEGO Island trilogy. He is a young delivery boy who delivers pizza to the citizens of LEGO Island. I like him because he looks like a cool kid. I like his printed hair and pizza torso. #5 - Dr. Cyber Dr. Cyber is one of Timmy's friends from the Time Cruisers theme. He goes back in time with him and collects hats from different times. He has a robot named Robby. He tries to alter the Space-time Continum as little as possible. He was a rocket scientist at NASA. I like his cartoonish eyes, red bow tie and pencil. I also like him because Time Cruisers is my favorite theme. #4 - Dr. Kilroy also known as Dr. Charles Lightning and Professor Articus Dr. Kilroy is a minifigure from the Adventurers theme. He is a brilliant scientist with extensive knowledge of artifacts and archaeology. According to LEGO Mania Magazine, he is Johnny Thunder's uncle. He is cool because of his cartoonish eyes, awesome beard, red bow tie and assortment of outfits featuring a white pith helmet. Plus he hangs out with Johnny Thunder in he most awesome adventures. #3 - Zack Zack (also known as Red Shirted Cowboy) is a Western minifigure released in 1996. He has appeared in seven sets and appears in all the Lego western commercials. Zack is a tough cowboy who helps the Sheriff protect the town from outlaw cowboys. I like him because of his blue jeans, a red button-up shirt, and a brown vest with gold buttons. My favorite thing about Zack is his printed white wavy hair. His head and face are used as the Ice Planet Astronaut. #2 - Johnny Thunder Johnny Thunder is the main protagonist of the LEGO Adventurers theme. He is included in numerous sets as a minifigure in each of the theme's sub-series, often alongside his friends Dr. Charles Lightning and Gail Storm . In addition to all of this, Johnny also appears in seven video games more than any other LEGO character. I like his mustache, hair and hat. He was the LEGO equivalent of Indiana Jones but cooler. #1 - Timmy Timmy was a minifigure who was first released in 1996. He has a pet monkey named Ingo. He has a pet monkey named Ingo He was seen extensively in the Time Cruisers theme until its discontinuation in 1997, and after that he appeared in many FreeStyle sets. Timmy has the best face ever with black hair hanging down, cartoon eyes and even has a nose!!

Should LEGO bring back a dedicated space theme?
Arctic_Ace replied to Arctic_Ace's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
(Space Police XVIII) It's 1526 Space Radar Buggy -
What do I mean by a dedicated space theme? I am talking about a theme that only focuses on space, like Classic Space, a space theme that ran from 1978-1987. The thing I like best about Classic Space is that the whole theme was about space. During its ten year run there were 100 different space sets released.(and one set unreleased) An average of ten space sets per year. Although LEGO still has Space sub-themes like LEGO City Space, there are few space sets released in comparison to how many other City sets are released. I would like to see a new dedicated space theme so we can have more space sets more often. Do you think LEGO should bring back a dedicated space theme like Classic Space? Please comment down below.

One of my favorite LEGO themes of all time is the Time Cruisers. Not only is the concept of time travel great for playing and imagination, but the minifigures were awesome. Dr. Cyber and Timmy are really cool because they have cartoon- like eyes. Timmy even has a nose! This is important to me because when naming the minifigures they are the easiest to tell apart from the others. And if the minifigures weren't cool enough- there is even a monkey named Ingo!! Ingo makes the set complete. The part where LEGO missed out was by not having crossover appearances by the Time Cruisers in other popular themes of the period like Castle and Pirates. The Hypno Cruiser came with several hats that suggested adventures in those time periods. The Time Cruisers were extremely popular in Germany. Perhaps if LEGO had marketed the Time Cruisers with crossovers they would have still been around when the Adventurers came out. I would have loved to have seen a crossover with Johnny Thunder. There has been some speculation online that Dr. Cyber and Dr. Kilroy are related. Thoughts?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Arctic_Ace replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Maybe there should be a post office, apartment building or hospital. -
In the story of the 21109 Exo-Suit there are space pirates. Could this be Blacktron?

I think LEGO should bring back Western with all the original characters like Sheriff Wyatt West, Zack (red shirted cowboy) and Flatfoot Thompson.

This sounds like a cool set. The bank manager and lady are robbing the bank? This kind of reminds me of the detective's office story.
