Doctor Who - Season 9 - Episode 12 - Hell Bent: This is Clara's T.A.R.D.I.S ( Well they sort of stole it from the Timelord's on Galifrey ). My first build since I had a fire way to close to me. I've just recently gotten back into building after having spend countless hours washing and cleaning my LEGO collection ( and im still not totally finished ). So this is the first installment of my project I like to call "Cube Layout project". This is all about having fun, and for me to get back into building. Before the fire I was caught up in a lot of other project's as i got my first LEGO train, so I never got to build a full layout. Now it's time for that ! Cube Layuot Project: All these cubes will fit together for a bigger layout being 34x34 studs. This will enable me to put a baseplate on top and have a 1 plate edge surrounding it in order to be economical with my brick usage. This is not the layout as planned. Just a collection of some of the cubes already buil't. Now a bit of what I have planned for to have fun here, and getting into building again. Installments planned: Doctor Who - Gas and Snacks - T.A.R.D.I.S - ( This one ). Doctor Who - Gas and Snacks - T.A.R.D.I.S - Small continuation - ( Planning ) Doctor Who - T.A.R.D.I.S train ( offcourse :P ) - ( Planning ) Fabuland - Fabuland settlement ( Building ) Matrix reloaded ( building ) Matrix revolutions ( planning - somewhat testing build ) Diablo - Part one - A shortcut to the black templars treasure - ( Can be found here ) World of warcraft - Arriving at Ironforge ( Can be found here ) World Of Warcraft ( a collaboration of Diablo, Baldurs gate, World of warcraft ) - ( building ) War against the Cthoor. Call of Cthulhu. The LEGO movie. Now, everything is up for change, as this is all about having fun. To me it's all about having a train layout finally, with some great looking surroundings. I will ad and rebuild every installment as i get further in the progress to fit everythig together. So this build is not yet finished. Now, i have a feeling that this will be the next finished build. So here's a teaser ... Where will this tunnel lead ? So glad to be back. KlodsBrik.

6th of June a fire erupted in the block where Im living. I was beyond lucky to find that my appartment only had some water damage, and a lot of smoke damage caused by the fire. Everyone above me and left of this picture had to be rehoused. That´s 44 appartments. Luckily no one got hurt, and all damage was material. The fire only lasted an hour but still managed to get rid of the roof in a hurricane like manner. This was utterly insane to watch. When I arrived back home from work and I saw the hole in the roof above my appartment, I definately thought that everything would be destroyed. However that also mean't that all my projects have died. In fact this is the first time I haven't even been around lurking on the Eurobricks community. It's actually only yesterday I got back onto Eurobricks and started catching up on all the stuff I've been missing out on. Also I'ts only some 14 days ago I started to take all my project's apart and started cleaning them, such as my "Hanging gardens of Babylon", and my "Dimension extended toypad" etc. This is just taking forever cleaning smoke particles of all these 300.000 + brick's that was exposed. Just wanted to let you know Im back around and is looking forward to be able to start building again.

That's not a few spareparts compared to a lot of other sets. Not to usefull ones, however not to common. Thanks for the review great as always.

This is gorgeous and should be frontpaged imo. Lovely details also the grass terrain is looking beutiful. I love it !

That's a serious sushi, and one of the good kind. Yeah, one can never get enough tools. As well as LEGO ! We have a saying( hope I can transfer it to be understandable) : Any craftman is never better than the tool´s he have at hand.

That is so cool and so dedicated to a project. Besides that, even though im so new to trains i love the look of it. Looking forward to what it will look like IRL ! Ive had my hanging gardens around for almost one and a half year and Im finally almost done with it. However Ive wanted to take it apart so many times as time have passed. Experienced anything similar with your project ?

I got something similar. Even the reinforced disc's explode Then again im always using tool´s to the limit of what they were build for. Im educated master cabinet maker and have been working on some weird project's where detail's were what mattered. We have had to invent some weird solutions using seriously top notch tools. As an example for the "table saw" you had a picture of, we needed something even more precisely. The owner of the company had an water cutter especially made that would cut through 4mm of iron, to do the job. Dont get your hand under that water beam.

This post is more than half a year old. Im pretty sure the user who posted this have decided what to get by now.

Why not start by just building some LEGO and have fun with it. If someone else was capable of making this project for you im pretty sure they would put it on LEGO idea's themself. I mean, basically, your asking for someone else to make "everything" for you.

One could also just use a short metal saw being the cheapest and safest option, or a metal scissor ( if you own one, these are quite expensive as well ) to cut the rods. Mostly since, if one dont own a dremmel, it will be quite expensive buying both the Dremmel and the cutting disc's, not to mention as you did yourself, when the disc's "explode" they are a PITA ... Always use safety googles when operating a Dremmel ! But lot's of people will probably find this usefull anyways.

Thanks for the new pictures. I had actually hoped, and somewhat expected that LEGO would have done something special about "Big Ben" even though it might not be to visible in the overall display. And then the bell is just a somewhat boring brick build. However the set is still awesome looking and it's becoming more appealing everytime I look at it !

Nice build as well as photosetup. Overall stunning. The builds details and the background makes this look alomst like a modern era take on classic Donald Duck. Very convincing and a very gorgeous build. I so love it !

Stunning build. Must look lovely on a huge layout. However at this scale the layout probably have to be "gigantic". Awesome work here !

Thanks, at least I got educated on the subject. Im pretty sure a lot of other EB users find this usefull as well. There must be a reason why they decided to make this hair piece molded together with the face this way. Anyway it looks awesome.

Yeah. Thought it was a matter between hard (ABS afaik ) plastic and soft ( which i dont know the term for ). That's what i mean't.

Ahhh .... That makes sense unfortunately. So when making a hard mold, these "organic" textures aren't possible with ABS. Im curious as to why it have been molded this way?

Haha .. I thought it was a printed piece ... Having a sticker is even worse .... Then one could actually attach it to an avatars head. But its so familiar as with the series 4 "mad scientist" ( I think ) .... Im pretty sure they could have made it an removal part, and im surely sad they didnt .... I could think up several scenarios where this piece would be usefull.
