LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
x105Black replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That picture doesn't show an armor piece covering a torso. The upper torso is a completely different armored torso piece that hangs down over the lower torso and cannot be used independently with legs. -
First, that Castle page may change with Nexo Knights retiring. Second, LEGO could just as easily create a TV series, web shorts, or even a LEGO Castle Movie about Castle to bring interest to the theme. If done well, kids will watch and love. If done really well, it will get parents and other adults interested in the same way that the LEGO Movie did. So I'm still optimistic that true Castle could return.

That's just perfect.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
x105Black replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That would be something. If so, I really hope they include the Flying Monkeys. That Batman set they are in is a bit of an obstacle if all I want are those minifigures, so getting them in a more affordable way would be much appreciated. -

I love the gold minifigure, where is that one from? It looks fleshy, so I'm guessing it's not from Ninjago. I do love that fishy headpiece, though. -

Fair enough. I thought I had heard she was turned to stone, but this is actually a cooler idea. Well if you're going to make a Space themed Castle theme, you might as well go all the way. -
This is my big question as well. Creator Expert level Castle sets would be fantastic. The Modulars are so well done, applying that level of detail and technique to Castle could make for wonderful sets. These usually come with many minifigures as well, so that's a plus.

Creator Expert Castle sets would be fantastic. The same level of detail as Modular buildings.

The only thing worthwhile about the villains are the aquatic monster head pieces. They could maybe be useful for alien species. It would have been better if they had been full-on mutation type water creatures rather than divers with fish on their heads. -

The worst part is that we won't have a regular series again until, what, 2019? -

Nice stuff. I'm going to have to make a very similar order. -
Gorgeous! I love the way the water pours out of the hillside and winds through it all. I love all of the foliage and trees. I also love the colors of the sand, it all looks so good! Then there's the structural elements. That's a great use of the printed Minecraft brick. And all of the people and fauna fit so well. It looks really really nice. Also, the images of the build with the portals in your gallery look awesome. Great job!

If there are 2 of the same costume, I would really hope for different accessories to help with feeling. -
The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)

Interestingly, the wacky colored windshields were one of the things I didn't like about Space themes as I was growing up. I understand wanting to build in a style that is reminiscent of the originals, that makes complete sense. Still, I prefer plain trans and trans black for windshields.- 991 replies

Collectible Historic/Fantasy Minifigure Series
x105Black replied to ElectroDiva's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
So, I had these ideas for a Castle CMF series. One idea was to base the series on Classic Castle themes (basically anything before Fright Knights). It would have included knights from the Dragon, Falcon, and Lion factions, a Wolfpack Rogue, and a Forestman. It would also have had some knights, soldiers, and royalty using these 1978 faction designs updated for a modern theme, including a Crown faction royal family: Then I had another idea for a series inspired by other popular fantasy sources. See if you can guess them. It would have included Lion, Dragon, Stag, Wolf, Squid, and Fish heraldries (each with a different motif). It would have had some additional figures like a red witch, a couple of princesses, a yellow haired Lion prince in red, and a Black Knight in furs. Furthermore, it included a female knight with horse heraldry and blonde hair, as well as a silver armored knight with black and silver tree heraldry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But I have a better idea. Some of these were borrowed from other people's lists and ideas, and they are still inspired by or based on Castle factions: Wolfpack (Wolf heraldry) faction Wolf Trainer in dark brown and black with grey Wolf. Black Falcon (Black and White Falcon heraldry) faction Falconer in black and dark blue with black Falcon. Black Knight (Dragon heraldry) faction Dragon Trainer in dark red with dark red baby Dragon and dragon egg. Crusaders (Lion heraldry) faction Squire in dark red and dark blue with short legs. Fantasy Era Undead (Skull heraldry) faction Necromancer in black with ornate staff. Fright Knight (Bat heraldry) faction Undead Knight in black and dark red with pearl dark grey or black winged helmet. Bull (Bull heraldry) faction Bullfighter in light blue and gold with red cape and cutlass (or appropriate blade). Forestmen (Stag heraldry) faction female Soldier in dark green with shield. Forestman (CMF Forest Maiden Tree heraldry) faction Soldier in dark green and brown. Crown (1978 Crown heraldry) faction King in dark purple and gold. Chevron (1978 Chevron heraldry) faction Guard in dark green and yellow with pike and shield. Club (1978 Club heraldry) faction Jouster in dark blue and yellow with lance and shield. Cross (1978 Cross heraldry) faction Knight in white and red with sword and shield. Bear (CMF Frightening Knight Bear heraldry) faction Soldier in dark red and dark green. Boar (CMF Evil Knight / Battle Dwarf Boar heraldry) faction Farmer with Hog and dark brown or pearl dark grey pitchfork. Elf (CMF Elf Maiden Flower heraldry) faction Archer in light blue and silver with dark brown long bow and quiver. And here are a few alternates: Dragon faction Dragon Trainer in Dark Green with baby Dragon and dragon egg. Bull faction Knight in dark brown and tans with horned helmet. Elf (Stag) faction female Soldier in dark green. I would not be opposed to new factions, but there are a lot of available factions over the years, so I thought it would be fun to play around with the concepts. It's a little heavy on soldiers, but it works. Also, the idea of a character within each faction that directly relates to the heraldry interests me greatly. This idea sprung out of the Falconer suggested by rodiziorobs, the Dragon Trainer suggested by Robert8, and a few ideas suggested by Eggyslav, so my thanks to them. I then combined them with some of my own thoughts and ideas (mostly to use 1978 factions and to see a Wolfpack Wolf Trainer) and expanded. I think many of us could easily suggest enough characters to have 2 or 3 series. I like the diversity in Egyslav's suggestions. The Bard, Alchemist, Plague Doctor, and Centaur are specifically characters I would have liked to include in my own list. I stayed away from most fantasy races (aside from the Elf and Undead), but I would not mind Dwarves or Goblins too much. I didn't mention gender in most cases, only in those cases where female is specifically desired. And another thing I wouldn't mind seeing (even though it's been done a few times) is another Jester, maybe in black and dark purple. And now I hit Submit Reply, otherwise I will keep editing my list and rambling on... -

Maybe, but it's not a Medieval / Castle theme. It takes place in the modern day, and as a LEGO theme there isn't a lot that carries over. -

I never found M-Tron or Blacktron to be boring, nor did I find Classic Space to be boring. That said, I love the idea of Space Cows and farming, even if only for one set of a theme. Could you imagine using the base cow mold with a new alien head piece in, say, lavender? That could be really interesting.- 991 replies
