LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

A Wizard series would be awesome, though. I'd really love to have an affordable way to get my hands on those Flying Monkeys, anyways. -

Not really, good point. Sept 2018 would be the 79th anniversary. If anniversaries are important, I'm guessing something a little closer to 20 or 30 years. -
I love the ruined look of this build. The scene is really nice. I really enjoy how the sparse plant life still feels overgrown. The concept of the build is great, as well. I love the idea of this character training, and seeing all of the equipment used to do so. I also like the use of the Takodana bacon banner. Nice job!

MOC: Elves, Ragana's Shadow Tower
x105Black replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is a fantastic build, even if I do think that the magenta is a little too much for my liking. Here, it does not seem as out of place as it does normally. I love how the small fence piece was used to make a weapons rack, a technique I am likely to use myself. I also think the cauldron is a great use of that large grey wheel piece. It was a great decision for this particular build to use the stickers that you've used, as they definitely add some necessary character. The styling you've used on the windows with the purple pillars, a callback to the original set, is wonderful when multiplied here, and gives this castle a more classic look. The way you've built up the lavender rocks as the base here is fantastic, and I also love your use of the black pentagonal plates around the balcony. As much as I dislike minidolls, I have to commend your use of many different types of character here. It really helps to put this build into its theme, and each character has a place where they fit in. Overall, this is an awesome castle. The only thing it's really missing from the original is the bridge to the smaller secondary area, but that can be excused due to the sheer size and magnificence already on display. Beautiful job! -

You never know. It would be nice to see a British property for a change. All of the other licensed CMF series have been American. Or maybe that just means it's more likely we'll get another American series. -
Elves minidolls into minifigs
x105Black replied to Dorayaki's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I love the concept. Minidolls are the bane of the Elves theme. You've done a good job at recreating the characters as minifigures, showing how good the theme could have looked. It makes me wonder how much more money I would have spent on LEGO had they made this choice. The answer, quite a lot. -

That's awesome! Too bad I already made my order with the panthers. I'll have to make another for the leopards. And too bad the tigers are not available. Looks like I will be making a good few B&P orders. -

Best thing for Sci-Fi was probably the Fly. Not good enough, in my opinion, but cool. -

A gargoyle is arguably a monster. I'm hoping for this series to include minifigures that will appeal to different fanbases as well. I was not excited about series 14, but ended up getting quite a few for various reasons. I hope this one is the same, and any such themed series should aim for that as well. Even a fully Castle themed minfigure series should have something for City, Pirate, and Sci-Fi fans, although it's hard to say what that might be. -

Which forum does my MOC/topic belong in?
x105Black replied to Stormbringer's topic in Forum Information and Help
It sounds like that is the place. It's not so much about what pieces you use as it is the content of the final build. For instance, if you used a lot of those pieces to make a medieval blacksmith's furnace, then Historic Themes might be the appropriate place. Or if you were using them to build a prototype spaceship, Sci-Fi might be more appropriate. So my guess is that you are correct in your placement, but you might want to wait on a second opinion. -

Scooby Doo isn't old enough as a theme, I suspect, although it is an old property. I wonder if this is going to be an old theme we've seen before, or one we have not that is based on an old property. -

Interesting minifigures this time around. More generic, and less that I want. But here are a few pieces I wouldn't mind adding to my collection: The pink and blue hair from the Unikitty girl. The sword, tassel, and hair from Lloyd (although I could probably get them in a set). The black hat from Garmadon (and I'm trying to figure out how the armor is done). The helmet and pants of Kai (and maybe the torso, can't really see it). The weapon and angler head from the Angler guy. The hair from Cole. The backpack from Zane. The octopus head from the Octopus guy (maybe, depends on whether it fits over or connects to armor). The Batman scientist and Father's Day Garmadon are the only ones I'm not really interested in. Most of these minifigures I'll probably pass on and buy up parts from BrickLink. I may buy Kai, despite not liking the minifigure as a whole. He seems to have the most useful pieces overall. -
I have purchased only a few sets above $100 in the last couple of years, and they were Star Wars sets that had minifigures I wanted and enough useful pieces, or pieces in useful colors, to catch my interest. Most sets have been $50 or lower. The reason for this is that there haven't been more sets above $100 that really caught my interest or were useful enough to me. A couple of the modulars have appealed to me, but I don't build City style and there are usually too many City style pieces that wouldn't get used to make it worth the money. The new Ideas Old Fishing Store does look very useful, though, and I may get that. Also, the large Ninjago City modular set might be useful enough to be worth the money, but it is $300. It has a great price per piece ratio, but there may be too many pieces I can't use, and too high a price overall for me to really justify the purchase. I'm considering the Disney Castle, even though it is expensive, because it fits in very well with the style of build I like and will have the least number of pieces I can't use. Now, if there were a great modular set in the Castle theme, I would absolutely love it, and if the price was $200 or below I would definitely look into buying it. If it is good enough, and fits what I want to see from Castle, I might even buy 2. But mostly, I want the minifigures, bricks, and useful new pieces. That's why I made a hefty purchase from Bricks & Pieces recently. And that may be the primary method for future purchases for me.

Overall, there are a couple of minifigures I'll definitely look for, but most don't impress me too much. I like the Sushi Chef and Nya the most, as they are the most useful for my builds. Lots of pieces I like: The 2 bowls with spoons from Lloyd and Garmadon. The Rocker's hair (recolored from CMF Hippie). The Blue General's hair and legs. The black fish from the Shark General.. The scarf (although I'd prefer a different color) from Jay. The hair (and maybe purse) from Koko. The Sushi Chef's headband, torso, blade, and legs. The hood from Lloyd. The hair and body pieces from Nya. Might have to buy a few and wait on the rest of the pieces from BrickLink. -

At the corner of the railing, in front of the crab restaurant, there are 2 of those new jetpacks from the Star Wars battle packs. I was trying to figure out what they were for a while, but now I see it! I love the use of fishing rods and the harpoon gun as antennas, and the rooftops made from anything from crowbars to car doors, and even those modified 2 x 2 plates with pin holes. So many brilliant piece uses and new pieces. I want some of those green lilypad pieces! The more I look at this set, the more I want it. -

What could be better than Wargs? Also, the idea of a huge crystal cave sounds great, looking forward to pictures when you finish. -

I do as well, but I have a feeling that $5 is more reasonable for the panther than what I'll find when it is finally listed on BrickLink. People are trying to unload them at around $18, which is ludicrous. Yes, please!
