  1. I love the idea of a LEGOdzilla.
  2. My understanding is that LEGO currently has a sort of embargo on showing this minifigure. So, I would say that as soon as this embargo is lifted (ostensibly May 1st when the product is officially released), it is completely fair to show images. I fully expect to see them at that point, hopefully in the Portal.
  3. I was thinking that the dress has more of a silver color, while the shield has a gold color. The sword and shield match alright, but neither really match the minifigure. They should have gone with a silver sword and silver printing on the shield.
  4. This is really well done. It would fit in well with Historic themes, and would be a perfect fit for Guilds of Historica's Kaliphlin. I particularly like the buildings with their arches and little details. Nice job!
  5. I guess that's fair. LEGO makes their money from third party vendors off the sales of whole boxes, not individual minifigures. So they make the money no matter which ones are selling in the stores. But perhaps a store will buy more if there is more demand. For example, the store has sold out of army builder minifigures, and even though there are many minifigures left there is a demand for a new box, which prompts the vendor to order an additional supply. It's speculative, and unlikely, but possible. Still, I'm sure it doesn't have too much of an effect on the overall sales, so my initial comment on army builders increasing sales for LEGO seems to be overstating a minor effect at best.
  6. I'd go as far as to say that Palpatine telling a story about a character that may or may not have ever existed is canon.
  7. Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to pick one up. Same reason, it's not the best it could be, but it may be the only time we see it.
  8. Good point. I hadn't considered that an option. So I checked this list posted by Blondie-Wan... Lord of the Rings is included on the list, but the Hobbit is not. So, unfortunately all of the projects using Gondor soldiers are not eligible, but there is still something from Tolkien's world that we can use.
  9. I might vote for the Secret Character if I could see him. As such, he's currently my least favorite option. I'll reserve my judgement until all images are available.
  10. While I agree that unique characters can be just as good as more generic army builders, I still think that many in the Historic (especially Castle) community prefer the army builders. Good reasons are above, but here are more. With the lack of representation in sets, the CMF line is the only place to find relevant minifigures (except for the odd character in a set here and there), and even still there are generally only about 2 or 3 in each unlicensed series (of which there is only 1 every year at this point). It is nice to get excited about new CMF minifigures, and to want to purchase multiples, but when there are no army builders, there is no incentive to purchase more than 1 or 2 of each. Comparatively, when there are army builders, there is a desire on the part of builders to purchase an army of them, which makes both the customer and LEGO happy. Basically, many Castle fans (and it's not necessarily exclusive to Castle) want to flesh out their worlds. We want to be able to buy several minifigures every year to do so. Not including army builder minifigures restricts our ability to do so, thereby inhibiting LEGO from making the money they could make by including even 1 in each series. That said, I still think the Roman Gladiator is the best army building option, and I could see some people buying a couple more of him than others (I'll only buy 1 or 2, and mostly for the hair and arms). And while I'm not entirely excited about the Elf Girl's shield design, I'll still want at least a small handful. The Battle Dwarf is the least useful, and I am not sure I can find a use for even 1 (I'm not much for using Dwarves in my world).
  11. This is good to hear. The operative word here is "active." So, for example, all Tolkien projects are still good to go.
  12. That's a really well done light cycle. I'd definitely buy it.
  13. The Gladiator is the best army builder in this bunch.
  14. I love the idea of the grey space torso. It's a little off-centered. But the colors seem to be off, too. It doesn't seem to match her outfit colors.
  15. Crazy. Well it's nice to see some better photos in more detail. I love the level of detail on the Elf Girl. And this confirms the old style triangular shield.
  16. Thanks for the images and descriptions. I'm hoping the Highwayperson will be nothing more than a marketing gimmick, and look how much we're all talking about it already. I'd say mission accomplished. A good few must-haves here, may have to find a whole box.
  17. I actually like that idea a lot.
  18. Well I like that it comes with the Stone Stomper. That's one of the best looking villains of this year's sets because it's not completely overdone and ridiculous like some others.
  19. Yes, it is as close to confirmed as it gets without an official announcement.
  20. Yes, we have seen it. I love the helmet design, but would really love to see it with no printing. It also looks like this guy might be in a pearl grey color rather than sand blue, which would be very cool to see.
  21. I was talking about physical Dimensions sets, but yes I've seen the Flintstone's area. Indeed, the Doctor Who Dimensions set brought us the sonic screwdriver before it was used in the Ideas set. Anyways, this is just about my preference for a molded Dino character (something like the Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time Dimensions sets, or Scooby Doo). If they go with something similar to the Ideas project, it would still be nice.
  22. I'm super excited about the Flying Monkeys. Can't wait.
  23. Stone Clay looks cool, from what I can see. Not the visor, of course, but the print.
  24. It's pretty cool, but I would actually hope for a molded character like Scooby Doo. Maybe if they go the Doctor Who route and bring the IP to Dimensions first...
  25. Beautiful structures all around. I'd love to see more information on the roofing techniques, especially of the olive green roofed house. Great work!
