  1. Awesome work, I'm glad I've helped inspire you!
  2. I realize they don't have bars near the doors, but I wanted something added to the walls so they weren't so featureless as the rest of my trains. (take it as artistic license) Also, the black stripe around the windows was left off because I forgot about it... sorry!
  3. Thanks, I used to ride on them too. I felt like no-one else had done this type of train before, so I decided to build them in LDD... maybe someday I'll build them in real life.
  4. This model was inspired by the Siemens SD-460 type light rail vehicles used by Metro Link in Saint Louis, Missouri. They are usually two sets used on every train, so just imagine a exact duplicate of the train above connected to the train you see. Basically it's four cars with only two walkways and four cabs, though only the outer two are ever used on the line. Also, the two cars with the inter-car connection are supposed to share a Jacobs bogie underneath the walkway. I didn't use one because it would cause problems storing the train in my boxes IF I decide to get it. the walkway. I didn't use one because it would cause problems storing the train in my boxes IF I decide to get it. The side of the model. The first set of pantographs on the far ends of the cars are used as ice cutters in cold weather (though they can be used in an emergency for power collection) , while the second, inner pair are actually used as the electric pickup points. This is not my map, I got it off Google. It is used by Metro Link on it's trains to show the stations used by the Light-Rail system. The Metro Bus routes are not shown, as their are too many routes to show on this type of map, though the metro buses usually use the routes of the old streetcars. The train is supposed to feature the "M" logo on it's front and rear ends, but their is no printing on the logo, which is a blue square with a red circle inside, which has a capital "M" in white located inside the red circle. (I used a black 1x1 plate because it stood out more.) Anyone wanting to read more about Metro Link and their plans for any future extensions and such should visit their wiki page here: https://en.wikipedia...ink_(St._Louis) EDIT: forgot to add the LDD file: http://www.moc-pages.com/user_images/80135/1453843587m.lxf
  5. Okay, project one for 2016 is done onto project two: To better fit in with the updated Forgotten Daylight steam loco, I have upgraded the smaller tender on this Mountain - type loco into a relatively long tender. This type of tender would be used for more long distance trips between refueling be it the vast prairies of the Mid-west, or the steep grades of the Rocky Mountains. As I had lengthened the tender, I had room enough to put the whole railroad name on the sides of the model. This is not usually what I do, as "Brick Railway Systems" is shortened to the initials BRS on most of my locos. I accomplished the odd numbered spacing for Brick Railway (with a blank space in between the two) by using Technic bricks and half-pins with studs. I used to use regular bricks with studs, but that left my tender off-kilter with a odd length such as 23 instead of it's current 24 studs long. By the way: printed tiles saying "6843" go on both sides of the cab. I think I'll get this one on getting this model in February or March, and it costs around $75 USD (before S&H) from a couple sellers. (that's with a bunch of parts missing as I already have the letters, wheels, and assorted other rare parts!)
  6. Here's the updated link to the HH: http://www.moc-pages.com/user_images/80135/1437956717m.lxf
  7. Thanks! I finished taking the pictures and adding them to the first post just a couple seconds ago. I hope you like them! Also, I couldn't fit in the cross-over stuff as Ekimu's mask was too big, and their isn't enough space or the rest of them...
  8. UPDATE: Sorry for the bump, but the first post has been updated to have my updated 6-wide 4460 model. Here is the loco with the The Meramec River Runner passenger train.
  9. That might be because MOC-pages is down right now... but it is an older version that may have been lost / corrupted. As soon ad MOC-pages comes back, I'll link to it it again, but this time directly from the actual page.
  10. Be my guest to post it here, and I would love to see it if built in real life!
  11. I have started construction on the Supply depot! This model is a Work-In-Progress: it is missing the freight loading crane and the roof of the main building. It has a removable upper floor and inside details, but until those aforementioned parts are done here's my only teaser picture of what will become Johnny Thunder and company's Resupply Depot. The rest of the roof parts should be here this maybe next week, and the first post will updated then. Also, when the crane gets built next month, that post will again be updated.... Stay Tuned!
  12. I redid the Haunted House (set 10228) and made it un-haunted in November 2014. It even features lift away floors and a garage, so it's more of a MOD than anything... It has the blueprint of a 48 x 48 base-plate made from several plates, as the green 48-stud is very expensive! Here's the ldd file, since we are linking to buildings: http://www.moc-pages.com/user_images/80135/1437956717m.lxf (also, the building comes with a car)
  13. As I said on Brickset: I have been using LDD since 2005, and have been building models first in LDD and then in real life ever since LEGO Universe Mode (later called Extended) was hinted at. (You had to go add the section into a certain line of code... remember that?) This really makes me sad, as i have been hoping for a least a little update for release of source code since the last update "window" was missed in Fall 2014. I have build 99% of my trains, buildings and other stuff using this program, and feel like a long-time friend who was a in accident and was expected to pull though (new updates) or have transplant (LDD source code being opened) someday suddenly went critical. In short: please LEGO, If your reading this: reconsider and don't let LEGO Digital Designer die this way! Oh, and hell yes I support a petition to show them we really care about LDD.
  14. I don't know what you mean by "LEGO worlds MOCs": are you referring to things made in the game and screens-captured and uploaded somewhere on Eurobricks, or uploading LDD files somewhere on your computer so the game can access it? Either you Option A) ask a EB mod or Option B) look at the older release notes / forum threads on STEAM.
  15. Their are LDD imports (as in you can import things to the game), but all the parts may not be there when done, as Worlds has nowhere near the amount of bricks LDD has, so you will have gaps. their is a thread somewhere either on Steam or Eurobricks about how to do it... I haven't don it in a while. Also, several creatures (rock monsters from Power Miners) and a lot of characters (zombies from Monster series CMFs, and the elusive Gingerbread man) have been added, and their are quests (such as "protect me from X for a while and I reward you" and give me Y and I give you studs" if your find them... they aren't as common as you might think. Also, you can know receive "instructions" (read: models) from large chests. Their is much more, too, as in underground candy-lands full of goodies, underwater exploration, and bins / trees with items ripe for the picking. oh, yeah, and I haven't discovered the money limit yet... I've got 1 million studs and counting. Also, multiplayer on one machine (one with controller one with keyboard plugged into the same machine) should be out soon, if not already out... does this help?
  16. My dad (who is in his late 50's and remembers gears and wheels coming out in the early 1960's) builds with Lego. He usually builds very strong, repetitive models in one or two, maybe three colors only. He can't do non-symmetrical builds, such as landscaping or hills, and hates it (I actually got told off for this once!) if I even mention taking apart RC track differently than in a flat, straight-forward manner. (I can understand 9V, but RC doesn't have metal strips on it, and takes a lot of pressure to break so...) Anyway, I showed him my space and Adventurers stuff and he acts like his builds are better, and that I can't touch his precious 9V collection without supervision because "I ruined a 4555 Cargo Station and a 4554 Yellow Metro station when i was 6 by taking it apart and putting the parts in the general loose parts bins" I'm now 21, and he still holds this over my head and treats me like I'm 10 or younger. Does anyone else get that kinda "your not as good as I and never will" from other builders / family members? I'm also starting to think he may have been where my Asperger's Syndrome came from as well (he denies it and would not look into it because "Their is no issue and he's perfectly normal") . The guy thinks and acts like the computers he programs for fun... it's almost like he thinks in binary or C++ language...
  17. I use the boiler from the Lone Ranger train on most of my builds... it works fine for my Roaring Twenties-era (that's the 1920's in case you didn't know) layout.
  18. I don't recall my first town set. However, my first bigger town set was this one from the trains sub-theme: This was set 10027 (Train Shed) from 2003. I later re-made the model with updated features and bigger stalls to allow for 8 wide trains with long tenders. Here is what it looked like back when it was 6 tracks long and 2 tracks wide: I have since remade the model, by removing a tracks length (16 studs) of shed, making the originally run-though shed closed off at one end, and redoing the roof. The original model cost $70 (US) from Lego in 2003, and this new version has cost $400 when originally built. (I actually spent quite a bit more than that revising the model and fixing problems with wall strength over the last three years.) The model even has it's own home-made wooden carrying case to get it to train shows....
  19. "Dark side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd... later will listen to "The Wall", also by Pink Floyd.
  20. Once again I have made changes to the first post and it's models therein. Here is Benny's newest ride: This is based off set 21108. (that's the Ghostbuster's Ecto 1) Plus, Benny ssS! now has a turret on the rear of thew ship where the antenna / signal array was located . Real pics will eventually be uploaded once the pieces are bought to make them updated In Real Life.
  21. Most of the design work (90%)was done by J-2. I took off the "Neighborhood Trolley" sign, and benches, covered up the individual entry points, put on trolley poles, recolored it, and added regular wheels instead of a motor, among other things. The reason I didn't do more to it was because it is about as good as it's going to get for being a Birney Safety Trolley. Thanks anyway though!
  22. This slimmed down 6 wide Birney Safety Trolley was first built in 2011 and based on the work of Brickshelf user J-2 and his vintage 2003 model of the Mister Rodgers' Neighborhood. (link to it here: http://www.brickshel...ery.cgi?f=37552 ) I have modified that users' model to have enclosed sides and now have reduced the width from 8 studs to 6, plus I added real seats, trolley poles, and magnets for pulling freight or a second streetcar. These magnets are at the correct height for use with official sets and most, if not all, of my MOCs. This car is numbered 37, and I have another one numbered 32 that isn't finished yet. (I only ordered four black macaroni bricks when I should have ordered eight, thus delaying completion of the other streetcar.) This is the former state of the real cars, which have since been destroyed to make the newer version seen above. This is the fictional electric line that runs the streetcars on my town. It is also called the IG&WER for short, as Ironwood Glencoe & Western Electric Railway is a bit of a mouth full... (Updated as of 5/12/16) LDD file for the Birney Safety Trolley(6 wide): http://www.moc-pages...1463073264m.lxf (Update 7/6/16: added real life pictures to this post!) (Update 7/7/16: car 32 finished, but since it's the same as 37, I will not be uploading separate photos of it, besides this one of them both on my layout.) comments, questions, and complaints welcome!
  23. Hey Electricsteam, I was inspired by your method of putting the smoke-box together on this loco, and as such, I have used it as the starting point for making my 8 studs wide Daylight to 6 wide. Thanks for the inspiration, your model looks awesome!
  24. Thanks! I am currently debating making the Daylight 6 wide so it fits in better with the rest of my steam fleet. I've already roughed out the design changes via LDD. EDIT 1/13/16: I just ordered the parts to re-make my 8 wide Southern Pacific Daylight loco into a 6 wide model. I used the same ingenious idea for the smoke-box as Eurobricks user Electricsteam did for his Pneumatic locomotive, but with my own styling with curved parts instead of the more straight-edged cheese slopes. I managed to keep most of the details and even added a crew walkway from the front of the loco to the cab. While the loco stayed the same length, the tender has been shortened significantly to better fit in with the rest of my 6 - wide steam fleet. It still is supposed to say "SOUTHERN PACIFIC" on it where the studs on the tender are. The number "4460" goes on the cab. Here is the LDD file for the updated loco: http://www.moc-pages.com/user_images/80135/1452698492m.lxf
  25. Thanks, I'll have to see about the headlights.
