  1. I agree with the calls for a residential building. I'd love to see a small apartment block. And I think Lego could still introduce a "story" dynamic with interactions between the residents of the apartments. I'd also be happy to see a pair of townhouses, but that might be a bit too similar to the Pet Shop. If they continue with the "business downstairs", "residential upstairs" approach, then that isn't terrible either. I know that Emmet's apartment building in The Lego Movie was a modified Town Hall and that many AFOLs don't like the Town Hall because they consider it to be too bland, but I think a small block of apartments could still be interesting. Perhaps something like these: They could add some interest to the façade with signage, etc similar to the Ninjago City Modular (although obviously not to the same extent). As for re-releases of Café Corner, Green Grocer and Market Street. I would buy them. I also think that they could change the designs, colours and include interiors to differentiate them from the original releases. But, given that there are still so many "new" Modular ideas available, I'm not sure they would take up a "new" slot by re-releasing a prior Modular, even if it was amended / updated. Ooops! I only intended to post links, not actual images. I can't figure out how to change it, but more than happy for a Mod to do so. Sorry for inadvertently cluttering up the thread with images!
  2. I will be very happy if the D2C is Wayne Manor, preferably the standard / classic model, not the Jokerized version (although I do admit that the latter would be more "toyetic" and probably offer more wacky play features).
  3. I hope that they move away from the new (Creator) "modular" residential buildings. I'm not a fan of the open-back, mix and match "modular" builds.
  4. I'd love a D2C Wayne Manor! That would be pretty amazing. But, Wayne Manor was pretty huge: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91oxVZP4fYL.jpg I'm not sure how they would translate that into an affordable set, especially with an already higher price per piece due to it being a licensed set.
  5. DC Superhero Girls is being rebooted / reimagined as a TV series for Cartoon Network (instead of a YouTube series), so that *could* justify a slight pause in product while they finalise the new character designs, story elements, etc.
  6. I'm really looking forward to seeing some MODs based on the fishing store. Perhaps some kind of "themed" seafood restaurant in more of a traditional Modular style? Or perhaps a pawn shop with all sorts of paraphernalia for sale?
  7. We could still use a comic book Ares. And whatever version of Cheetah we get, there would be an alternate (i.e. human in cat suit or were-Cheetah). Artemis, Circe, Giganta (brick built maxifigure) and Dr Psycho would all be welcome additions to fleshing out Wonder Woman's rogues gallery. I'd personally be happy to see Hades, Duke of Deception, Phobos, Deimos, Medusa and Queen Clea as well, but that would probably be a stretch - it's not like she's Batman! Dr Poison and Baroness von Gunther seem unlikely to be included as they're pretty "extreme" for Lego. Angle Man and Silver Swan could be good choices for "bizarre" and colourful inclusions. And there are a bunch of allies that we need - Queen Hippolyta, both Wonder Girls, Etta Candy, various Amazons and maybe Nemesis (Tom Tresser).
  8. I'll be very happy to add Cheetah to my collection! Killer Frost is a pretty awesome inclusion too. I hope that the Wonder Woman minifigure uses the JLA or Rebirth "battle skirt" costume design.
  9. Good point and fair enough. I guess it's just the backless design which makes it appear so much smaller (at least to me). I look forward to trying to modify it to something similar to the design of Apple Tree House if the number of pieces are sufficient.
  10. I'm not a fan of the new "Modular" approach to the Creator houses based on the new photos. But, I'll give it a go in person before making a final judgement.
  11. Please ignore the following question if the Creator Houses don't fit within "Creator Expert" category, but my question would be: Why have Lego Creator Houses decreased so substantially in size? The earlier models (e.g. Building Bonanza (4886), Model Town House (4954), House (4956), Beach House (4996), Apple Tree House (5891) and Family Home (6754)) offered interesting and sizeable builds. The Creator Houses have been steadily decreasing in size and the upcoming Creator Houses for 2017 (Poolside Holiday (31067), Modern Home (31068) and Family Villa (31069)) are not only smaller builds, but they also all lack four walls / closed (or close-able) backs which was previously standard for Creator Houses. Will Creator Houses ever return to the same size and scale as the earlier models? Will they at least return to having four walls / closed (or close-able) backs?
  12. Is the building in the first post built using the bricks in two (2) sets of Vacation Getaways? Or was that the original intention, but you ended up using plenty of bricks from your own supply? I'm guessing the latter?
  13. Fingers crossed! And then all of the buildings in Main Street USA for both castles. And the railway. And assorted rides. And the Shanghai castle.
  14. Very disappointing. I wonder what could be the cause? It seemed to be really popular and both Disney and Lego love making money. Unless they're considering a fully-fledged "Disney" theme with mini figures and builds? But, surely they'd be worried about competition / confusion with the Disney Princess line which seems to sell very well?
  15. That is interesting. I can only guess that they're (mis)using the term "Modular" to refer to the three different builds / "modules"? Although, if that was the case, then I don't know why they're limiting the use of that term to their residential builds as opposed to all of the Creator "3 in 1" builds. I don't really see how else they could be "Modular". They don't even appear to be able to connect together "side by side" to form a street. Maybe they're using the term "Modular" to differentiate these open-back / City-style houses from other Creator builds like the recent Park Street Townhouse which are still capable of being fully enclosed?
  16. Very disappointed! I don't understand why they're happy to make a number of large $300 to $400 sets, a bunch of smaller, cheaper sets, but not much in-between.
  17. I want to see larger residential buildings like Building Bonanza, Model Town Home, House, Family House, etc. And larger commercial premises like the Bike Shop and Cafe. I'm disappointed that the Creator residential and commercial buildings appear to be getting smaller and smaller.
  18. Gosh darn it. I didn't realise that all of the houses were backless when I first saw the photos. That's pretty disappointing. So, IF they do fold in half to be fully enclosed, then they're actually all half the size that they appear to be. There I was mistakenly thinking that Lego were releasing larger size Creator houses like Family House, Hillside House, Apple Tree House, Family Home, Beach House, House, Model Town House and Building Bonanza (ALL of which were sadly released during my Dark Ages).
  19. Wow! THREE more Creator houses. That's awesome. I'll buy them all, probably in duplicate as well!
  20. I'll be interested to see the Heartlake Hospital. I hope that the inclusion of a hospital in Friends doesn't mean that it will be many more years before we see a "Hospital" them in Lego City.
  21. Did you post pictures of your Haunted House MOD anywhere? If so, I'd really like to see them.
  22. I'm particularly excited about the "Bus Station". Fun at the Beach could be interesting too, especially with the rumoured Creator swimming pool. It's nice to see Lego continuing with mini figure boxed sets after Fun at the Park (which I still need to buy).
  23. The "Fun in the Park" is a good starting point for a Modular-esque park. Although, two sets would probably be better. There are some good sources of inspiration for Modular parks on Lego IDEAS. The Temple of Airjitsu from Lego Ninjago would also provide an awesome base for a Japanese garden / park. For cars and public transport, I buy what looks good from the Lego City range. I find that "standard" looking vehicles are somewhat rare, but a couple are normally released each year (e.g. garbage recycling truck). I don't have a bus yet, but it seems like we may receive a "bus station" in Lego City this year, so that would be a good starting point for adding public transportation. The Creator houses are generally capable of being modified to become an 8-stud wide Modular-esque house. Or you can just include them in their regular form. Some of the Creator sets require multiples to build a more substantial looking building, but many fans like a variety in size / scale and use them in their original form. Lego City has just finished a "Construction" theme, so you should still be able to find a range of "Construction" sets, some of which include parts of buildings being "demolished", which could easily be re-worked as buildings being built. There is a great project on Lego Ideas for a Modular construction site which should provide plenty of inspiration.
  24. Wow. TWO Creator houses in addition to the Townhouse. It's great to see so many residential buildings in Creator. And from the price point, it appears that the Family Villa will be decently sized (while the Modern Home may require multiple sets to make something decent). A public swimming pool is also interesting. It would at least need some kind of entrance / gate, change rooms, lifeguard station and the actual pool. I wonder if the swimming pool is a success, whether we'll start to see more public spaces, like a bigger "park", a "town square", etc.
