  1. Not sure if it's gold, may also be Copper Metallic. It will be cool either way!
  2. These better become available through Shop@Home, or else the exclusive parts via Bricks & Pieces. I'm a big Ninjago fan and these civilians are really welcome to accompany my many ninja's.
  3. It doesn't have to be someday, you could start in Varlyrio and then quickly go over the events that brought Gutkeled there, for instance.
  4. Let's make it HSSS: Historican Settlement Submission System!
  5. The only record of asian architecture in Nocturnus outside of Zotharith are the Gardens of Tranquility in the Rakath Mountains, mentioned here by @Lord Vladivus. Basically all asian stuff is to be found in the Kaliphlinian Rakath Mountains, but there's some more off the continent of Historica: Yureishima and Orien by @mccoyed and @narbilu respectively.
  6. Welcome back, Lazer! Shall I call you Maas from now on? Sadly, the Guild of Nocturnus has fallen into a slumber. Due to the inactivity of its members, Nocturnus is no longer a playable guild: it does not accept new members, and you can't participate in challenges under its banner, but other than that you can just continue building here like you used to. You are free to switch to any of the four other guilds (Avalonia, Mitgardia, Kaliplin and Varlyrio), regardless if you still feel Nocty at heart. I'm not going to switch guilds unless there is a challenge I really, really like to participate in. There is enough work to do to round up the events of the Civil War alone, which is vital if we want to see Nocturnus become playable again in the future.
  7. Yes, I did! Glad you like him! Good luck to all of you!
  8. So, I made a purist custom Lord Vortech today: The staff took me a good hour or so, but I'm satisfied with the result.
  9. Ah, Halloween... The time of the year where monsters, misfits and villains alike can blend into society for once, isn't it delightful? Not if you are Lord Vortech. Somehow the party always crashes when he shows up through this interdimensional portal. Seems like hypervillains can never get a day off... Ah well, at least there's always enough free candy up for grabs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  10. So, to you guys the Skulkins with big heads looked.. good? For reference: To me, the orignals all looked pretty bad, except for Samukai. The heads were massively disproportionate (on top of the reasonably deformed body proportions of a regular minifig), the expressions were dull, characterless, and inaccurate to the show. In my opinion, the new head (isn't it from Whyplash, though?) has improved on all above mentioned points. I'm sure the headgear and torso armour are missing, and I really hope the new Skullkin will wear boots again, and that alltogether they will look better than the originals.
  11. Dear lord of all that is spooky! I just found out about this contest! Deadline is so close, don't know if I can make it.. but damn, minifigs are one of my specialties. I must. Guess I know what to do this evening!
  12. Time to wake up this thread again! Overwatch minifigs bring in a bunch of new hair moulds! Characters with new hair pieces are Tracer, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Soldier 76 (yay, white hairpiece! ), D.Va and Mercy. Great designs all around! Just a reminder of what is still missing from this year in the list: Harry Potter hairs from CMF and sets. Don't forget this one from the big castle: https://brickset.com/minifigs/hp159 Beach Party Dude's hair from https://brickset.com/sets/5005359-1/Minifigure-Collector-Frame Minidoll hairpieces from: Belle, Cassandra, Dottie, and the torquoise cat ear hair White hairs from Ninjago from figures: Teen Wu and Harumi - Hunted OMAC's blue mohawk Headwear-hair combo's: Batwoman, Female Explosives Engineer, Friends' helmet with ponytail, and Red Riding Hood (found in the IDEAS Pop-up book). That wouldn't be the first time a non-release batch element appeared in the Build-a-Minifig bar. @cebelicamya I hope you picked one up?
  13. Hehe, yes I'm reading along.. Who knows? Nice vignettes here, I especially like Bernaldo's one. Doesn't really need a description to know what kind of guy he is.
  14. Very impressive, huge also! While I think the patchwork of colours in the landscape is quite rough in its execution, I do dig the vibe that it has. I like the civilian elements of the scene, such as the tents and the ranches, which help make this barren landscape feel pretty lively. Also, arena's are always a good idea! Interested to see your progress, @Hersbrucker! By the way, do you have a name and location for this settlement in mind? Then I may add it to my little list in the Nocty thread.
  15. Next magazine comes with a villain plus a very substantial jetpack and black blades.
  16. Definitely. Knees wil reduce the structural integrity, increase the complexity of the build and may make finding stable poses less easy and possibly frustrating for both kids and adults. It's a shame, I know. Here's a thread specifically dedicated to the issue: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/106389-mechs-without-knees/
  17. Ninjago or not, those figs are really, really cool!
  18. I don't think I know enough superlatives to describe this, so I'll simply go with: Drop-dead gorgeous. I saw this on Flickr a while ago and of course I knew it was fantastic, especially the unprecedented multitude of domes was an eye-catcher, but upon closer inspection it becomes clear that you have surpassed your previous works once again! It's just absurd how Streets of Barqa, one of most impressive GoH creations ever, is just blown out of the water in the face of this one regarding the complexity of the architecture, decorations and textures. I'm not going to sum up everything I like here, but I want to highlight a few things: the way the fountain basin protrudes from the wall, and your use sideways use of tooth pieces at the top of the tower. The restoration in progress is executed brilliantly, and the use of various special elements (printed walls, half-arches, square lattices, tassels) is the icing on the cake. Boy, am I glad to see you in the Guilds again!
  19. It's been a while, @en_zoo! This is quite a break from your previous creations in terms of colour, and I like it! The light blue in the wall is integrated really well, and the dark blue in the roofs further completes the picture. The wall isn't over-textured in my opinion, maybe the rounded part just a bit. I don't even remember the last time I saw a base which main colour is brown, but you make it seem so natural! The olive green, medium nougat and dark tan balance out the overall colours scheme. Furthermore, the amount of stones and their spreading is just right for the atmosphere you are going for, and the little bits of dark brown and the wedge plates do the rest! Really solid work! I've read hardly any personal GoH lore in a long time, but this made me curious enough to read through the whole thing. "Jeffrey J. J. von Jeff!" cracked me up.
  20. Nocties that fled for the war? Cowards, treason! Just kidding, glad to see something like this! Good job on angling the whole house on the base! Some nice detailing with the lanterns, plants and the stand below the balcony. I also like the tan wall, nice texture, and the minifig scene is well done! There are two things that I don't really like: the roof and the base. The sloping on the front side of the roof doesn't make sense to me, particularly the 2x2x3. For the base, I'd get rid of the 1 brick high edge, and possibly the brown tiles as well; too distracting. Other than that: good work, keep it up!
  21. @zoth33 Thought of LotR as well when I saw Reinhardt. Mercy's hair is perfect for an angel, Hanzo and Genji appear to share the same hair ribbon piece, but in different colours, which could prove useful. I don't see how Genji would fit into castle/fantasy, though.
  22. That's a trans green canopy right there! Good for some neo classic Space Police. Love these sets btw, great spaceships!
  23. I ended up getting the starter pack for 15 euros, good parts and I had also missed out on the original figs of Wyldstyle and Gandalf. Still need to hunt down a cheap Chell and Gremlin, since the packs never really went below 7 euros in my area...
  24. Flintstones!! Well, this is what sets it apart from a ton of treehouses that have been released over the years.
