  1. Step Two: Introductory Build and Sign Up Your next step will be to introduce your primary character (also called sigfig), who you want to lead through the adventures of the Brick Seas. While faction choice has a big impact on the further progression of the game for you, the choice of your primary character does not. You can always introduce additional characters, and evolve your primary character. (Inspiration) Let us assume you have chosen to be come a Sea Rat. How do you depict your main character? Should he or she be a fierce pirate captain, bringing fear to the Brick Seas? A free trader, sailing the ports for profit? An adventurer, exploring distant islands? A prostitute, who goes beyond her usual business in one of the settlements in the colonies? A mercenary, escorting the other nations' traders for payment? A priest, trying to teach his beliefs to the natives of the islands? Or maybe just an architect, creating buildings in the new world? Be creative - the choice is yours! Once you have decided on your sig fig, post it in the relevant faction thread. Congratulations, you have now officially signed up for BoBS, and have been awarded 25 dbs to get you started, should you chose to take part in the Economic Game System. (=EGS. More on that later) Many players further introduce their sig figs with a small story and introductory build like below. Posting this as a freebuild in its own thread, and registering it through this form, will earn you another 10 dbs. Example Introduction Captain Jasmine Cocker, the Lady who denies authority (except her own, of course) Picture courtesy of @Elostirion. At the age of thirteen, Jasmine, daughter of a stonemason in Terreli, the capital of Eslandola, was sold by her own father to a travelling merchant as a mistress for his lonely nights. He took her on his ship, and on his trading voyages over the brick seas she served him for many years, pretending to be the good girl. One night, though, when the merchant and most of his loyal servants were guests to a rich trader in the city of Arlinsport of Corrington, Jasmine started a mutinity on the ship, and managed to flee, now captain of a ship with a crew at the age of only seventeen. In Breshaun on Oleon's island of Le Bellan she sold most of the goods, and in return bought some other goods, but also arms. For the next few years she sailed the Brick Seas, at times as a trader, and at times as a fierce pirate captain, emtpying other ships' cargo - she takes opportunities, whenever and where ever they come up. Recently she has arrived in Bastion on the Nest of Thieves. Some call it a pirate-town, she however considers it a free city, where she can find new crew for her ship, so she can sail towards her next adventures. From now on, the whole of BoBS is open for you to explore. In the next post, we will look at the Economic Game System (EGS), starting with your first ship and how to use it in the Monthly Raiding and Commerce Action, and after this, we will show you how to license properties in the EGS.
  2. Wow! Nice...everything! Candlesticks, strategy table, furniture and above all...THAT lobster
  3. Great cannon! Nebelwerfer anyone?
  4. Great build as always! Burn Nassau to the ground! (And make another such lovely series. Too bad it ends this season )
  5. Nice review! I wasn't sure about the set OR the olive canoes (I prefer them in red tbh) but upon reading your review I might reconsider. Anyway, thanks again for your time and effort!
  6. Excellent review and thanks for adding some more besides just showing parts and minifigs! My thoughts on that set MOC-wise: Excellent minifigs with great acessories and prints. Especially the new full armor can be easily fitted in statue guarding some sort of entrance or stuff like that. Egg can be used in some moc for the "Alien" movie and best of all, the build has some really useful parts for a change. A great set all in all!
  7. Hell yeah!!! @Bob De Quatre How many pics are we able to post btw? Thanks in advance!
  8. Now we are talking! Price-wise that was the right thing to do! (although the ever-whiners like me would wish those zombie sharks were not zombies but like the 2009 one as it was more versatile/more easily usable in MOCs ) Also the box illustration is really well made!
  9. They don't look that bad to me Ayrlego. Although I would love to also see tan uniforms as well, since the straps (I mean the white X section on the front of the uniform) are also white (although in a "lighter" tone of white). In any case your work looks pretty professional to me.
  10. Hopefully as seeing this month's MRCA, we need to buff SR a bit
  11. Also, who said warship can't earn money by "liberating" goods from trade ships they capture??? After all they DO can carry a fraction of a trader's cargo, right?
  12. Damn you Corries! You capped the ship insurance idea before us!!!
  13. For those that want that little extra, flavor-wise, a superb zombie contest is running by our fellow Eurobrickers back at the Sci-Fi section , booooo-ing etc etc . Nevertheless, seeing the piratey lot we are, be sure to "MOC-bomb" them with some Zombie Pirate love (or whatever love you people prefer)! Whether any of you participate or not, one thing is certain: Prepare yourselves for some serious laughs out there!
  14. Looks like covered by lichen, thus very lifelike! Great MOC!
  15. Fantastic build!!!
  16. Excellent contest theme! I am sure we are bound for some good laughs looking at the different entries!!!
  17. Thanks everybody! The whole build started with the bed when toying a bit with LDD. I dont know if I had accidentally copied someone or is an original design but with so many MOCs I have seen these 2 years, I think my mind is going to explode as everything is blended in my brain Then the coat rack came (that I believe is more original than the bed) and the rest of the room came to existence. Anyway, I hope you liked it. And no, speaking about the three assassins, three different forces don't neutralize each other that easily
  18. I've been trying to do the exact thing this whole year although to a smaller degree. If we want to make some MOCs and stories believable, we must include some lady-figs as well
  19. Hehehe, I believe we BoBSer's were all looking forward to this wedding! Nice MOC with many "formal clothing" torsos!
  20. A nice house full of beautiful details. I do wonder if Hannah is a benevolent spirit or no...
  21. Great courting scene/photo!!!!
  22. A hilarious story and a nice entry overall! I just love how Harriet is still chasing poor Alois! Also nice technique with the hinge piece. It really gives many new posing possibilities. Thanks for sharing
