  1. Fantastic ship! It has a nice classic look and the colors are good. I think the period-specific design and figurehead are probably my favorite elements, and those custom sails are really nice. Oh, and the stern pic is a good addition too. Good work.
  2. Nice house. I particularly like the color scheme and the architecture is really good. The modular interior looks great. I like a well-detailed facade, but adding a dollhouse-type interior like this really transforms the overall build. Keep it up.
  3. Welcome to EB and BoBS, @Bodi. Cool sigfig, and I agree that those bananas look great as part of that design. I look forward to seeing your contributions.
  4. Welcome aboard! I mean, Arrrghh!!! (From a Corry... But I won't hold that against you. )
  5. Welcome to Corrington! It's good to see some new players finally join our ranks.
  6. I couldn't quite picture the subject from reading the title but I knew the name was familiar, and one glimpse was enough for me: this is just about perfect. It's really quite brilliant, and if The LEGO Group has any sense they'll copy this design piece-by-piece, sell it as an Architecture set, and... pay you a royalty, of course. Having seen so many splendid minifig scale builds from you, something different is actually really neat, and you've done about as good a job as could possibly be done at that scale. I'd buy it without even thinking! For some reason the second pic seems the most definitive to me, probably because it's the viewing angle I'm most familiar with (from my trusty book of castles and chateaux and other big estates ) but it truly looks great from every angle. Fantastic work. Chenonceau also features a big formal garden, correct? I suppose that would really be a challenge at this scale... But it really doesn't need anything else. You've captured the look, and the river looks nice too. Keep it up. Edit: I must say the reflection in the water is beautifully realistic.
  7. This "upcoming project" is largely a reference to what I've been working on. There are no nefarious intentions here - it's simply an attempt at creating a good way for Corrington's members to license my project(s) since I'm not interested in playing the game. I suppose I could make this easier for everyone by posting my efforts, shall we say, elsewhere, but I made a couple promises that I have to fulfill...
  8. I have no idea why that one shows up. I also get lots of real estate ads. My old phone always showed the "Razor" ads: "Join the insider community" or somesuch. The ads don't do as good a job targeting your interests as they'd like you to think. I ain't looking for romance. Nothing that shows up ever really matches my interest and usually I just ignore 'em. Sorry, I'm running on empty right now... too many late late nights... because that's the only time I have to build...
  9. For once, the "Get More Romantic Moments" ad at the bottom of the page looks more enticing than this conversation...
  10. Amen. If they weren't zombie sharks I might get the set just for the parts. But the sharks are useless for non-fantasy as far as I can tell, and I'm not spending for something I can't use. Yeah, it's been suggested they could be used in a MOC as washed up on a beach and rotting but... that isn't exactly popular material. Still not interested. But the box art is cool.
  11. Yes, I picked up on the "final adventure" part. That doesn't sound like "possible future film no. 6" to me. That sounds like "The End."
  12. Fantastic fort! It looks rock-solid, and the sloped walls are nice. I like the scale and setting, and it appears to be well-armed despite the mobility issue. The tan roof looks great too. Overall it's a very nice arrangement.
  13. Beautiful setting. It looks very realistic with the gated entry, long tree-lined drive, and central fountain. And the number of big flowering bushes is incredible. The building looks nice - that roof technique looks good again, the windows are really good and the lion heads inside the decorated arches are neat. The interior may be just a bit sparse, though - considering the entire setting, I would expect the hall to be a bit more grand overall. But it's still a really nice build, and the gentle incline obviously required a lot of parts. Good work.
  14. If the official description doesn't mention a cabin, then I doubt it has one. But since it mixes several different scales to begin with, I imagine it could be tricky to implement, anyway. I'm not buying the ship, but I understand why people would be disappointed. And this whole shark business is just... crazy. Again, it seems it would be mentioned in the official description if it's included in this set.
  15. Yes, LDD is fine. There have been lots of good digital designs so far. But you are strongly encouraged to render the designs.
  16. Exactly. With so many themes and sets being produced at any given time, there's a little something for everyone, but highly specialized sets like the forthcoming Silent Mary are never going to please everyone - and everyone isn't lusting for the Flying Dutchman either. And LEGO knows this with regard to everything they produce. I know it has to be difficult to design good sets without blowing up the piece count and resulting price. Throw in licensing requirements, and I suspect it gets complicated in a hurry. And adult buyers are almost always harder to please than young children. I don't like this "ship" at all, just like I can't stand Nexo Nights, Hairy Pottery, and Star Warts - but all these things display good creativity from the designers, which is one of the most important things to consider. I'm sure there will be lots of happy buyers when it's finally released.
  17. Lucky you! I live in a veritable LEGO desert - no LUG or LEGO store within reasonable driving distance. I'd love to get a few more, er, a bunch more of those Redcoats. I suppose Bricklink will have to do...
  18. For me, it's simply the fact that I would've taken any realistic type ship over a ghost ship, period. I think it's a decent set from a creative point of view, but I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in purely fictitious stuff like this. For the money we could've had a really good complete ship, rather than a highly-decorated skeletal structure. Sure it's detailed, but a similar piece count without unnecessary decor would make a fantastic ship. I guess TLG just wanted to do something different. And while the Flying Dutchman wouldn't be realistic either, I can't help but think it would be far more complete, with a more useful part selection overall, and much more suitable for modifying into a more realistic ship. If it was the BP or FD, I'd buy it, no question.
  19. Well, at 576 studs it's more than twice the suggested small size of 16x16 (256 studs), and more than half the suggested medium size of 32x32 (1024), assuming the build is for a category with that suggestion (some properties, like Art & Culture, have bigger medium sizes). So it's really up to you; however, a good rule is to judge the content: if it's a fantastic build, medium would probably be fine, but if it's average material small might be more suitable. But again, that's up to you.
  20. Dude... That is a fantastic haul! Enjoy the IFS. I got mine used too, before prices started skyrocketing.
  21. After the long wait for a big detailed ship... We're getting this? I can see how people who go for this type of thing would be excited, and it's a creative set for sure, but... I'm seeing an expensive parts pack with some unique minifigs. I'll pass. The new Jack Sparrow does look nice though.
  22. Nice sloop with a unique color scheme. It does remind me of a cake or something... but not bad at all. I do like the reworked version a little better. And the rigging, while simple, looks nicely effective. Keep it up.
  23. Excellent ship! It does indeed look like a combination of the first and most recent Imperial ship sets. The classic design and colors are nice, and 5 gunports per side looks great at this scale. I also prefer a lower cabin, but this still looks suitable given the apparent inspiration. And speaking of inspiration... The white curved bricks in the upper bow have given me a great idea... I really must thank you for that. Good work.
  24. All the different scales of building are a unique way of telling this story, and the diving/swimming scenes are neat. I also like your Lego representation of looking through the "glass"; I don't recall seeing that done before. Overall, this is a good creative approach which works well.
  25. Neat bakery. I like that two-wall building style and the interior details are excellent. The chimney and window are both well built and that tiled roof looks nice. Builds like this are great for showing everyday life. Keep it up.
