What do you do with your LEGO Boxes
Terrasher replied to TheLunabrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I fold them and keep them behind a dresser. I don't know why. I think I just wait until I have too many and then I dispose of them all together. -
I remember years ago when the UCS Millenium Falcon was available through S@H. I was crazy about it but there was absolutely no way I could afford it. I remember telling myself that, once I'd have a job, I'd have enough money to buy it. But now, more than 8 years later, it's still too big an investment for me to even think about buying the set. A man can dream though. A man can dream.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Terrasher replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, I don't really take part in any Marvel / DC / superheroes discussion but that Arctic Roller looks super good! I absolutely love those wheel arches! -
Two Disney CMFs. Got the genie twice . At least it's better than getting two Ursulas out of three packets! Also bought the Disney Castle. I've only built bags 1, 2 and 3, but I can already say that this will probably be my favorite LEGO set.

Hey everyone I've just read on Hoth Bricks that there wouldn't be any early Brick Friday offers for VIPs this year. Is this only for Europe or will it also apply to the U.S./Canada? Also, anyone know about any discounts that'll be applied to certains sets, yet?
-
I've never tried doing something like this, but I believe the set Assault on Hoth has the same kind of mechanism you're looking for (check out the blast doors and how they can be opened).

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Terrasher replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah, 48 wide is nice and adds something to the mix. But I hope TLG releases another 32x16 modular like the Pet Shop. Only prediction I made about the modular that would become Assembly Square was that there could be a dentist's office or a small clinic. -
I think the light blue and white building would make the best full-sized modular. I hope to see many mods of this set, way more than there were done for the Brick Bank.

I doubt it'd be. Modulars have been such a huge success, it would be foolish to stop releasing them. Plus, there's still plenty of buildings they could design, so it's certain that source material isn't anything they're lacking.

Oh, boy, took me a while to notice that the florist shop roof is made with two excavator buckets. Also love the Thor hammers near the roof. So much smart piece usage!

Good gravy! This is very, very nice! I was going to get a few of the big Creator cars for Christmas, but this set convinced me to wait and get it instead! Very colourful and tons and tons of action going on inside the buildings! I'm starting to prefer many buildings in a same modular (like the Detective's Office) than a single one. First day buy, hopefully

Do you guys think this set will be on shelves for a while? Or do you think it'll only last a couple of months or even less?

[moc] 10 alternate models from Creator #31046 set
Terrasher replied to Peteris_Sprogis's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh, man, all these models are very, very well done. My favourites are 4. Truck and 9. Offroader. Wasn't expecting a Tumbler, that one is very inventive! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Can't 4/1 mean January 4th? I think months and days switch in some countries. Although, it would be weird to release something any other day than the first of the month. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Terrasher replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'm with NotTheSinger on this one. It would be nice if there was a building shaped kind of like a "U" upside down when looked at from above. In the center there would be a nice little park while still having a pushed-back building to surround it. In any case, really excited for any leaks or more info. -
21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)
Terrasher replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That wink. I hope I like that wink. Apollo 11 - Saturn V is gonna be yuge. -
Hello everyone! Right after buying the Big Ben, my love for landmark buildings grew. I also started liking a lot more the Architecture sets. At the beginning of the summer, I wanted to start a big LEGO project, but I had no idea what to do. I thought about making a Star Wars diorama, or tons of micro ships, but what I really wanted was something to accompany my Big Ben and my Tower Bridge. I've always thought that the Arc de Triomphe would make the perfect candidate for a Landmark set. It's got plenty of detail, it's got the right size and is just overall beautiful. One evening, I decided to toy around with some hinged parts I had laying around. I thought about making midi-scaled Arc de Triomphe. That's when I built the ceiling of the arch. It was spot on, but it was a bit too big to make something rather medium sized. So, one thing lead to another, I had tons of spare white bricks and grey greebles, I made a few PaB orders, and then I ended up with this: Sorry if the image quality isn't great, I'm not great with cameras and I don't have a particular place to take pictures of MOCs. My main sources of inspiration for the Arc were a few Architecture sacled MOCs I've seen on LEGO Ideas, and a big Arch built with beige bricks (main inspiration for the tiled walls). Most of the arch was built from scratch. The only special ordered bricks (PaB wall and S@H) were white tiles for the walls, the border of the sculptures (the ones that look like paintings), most of the shields section, the interior side of the walls (the part with the white grilles that make the names), most of the big LBG section right above the main arch, and most 1x1 round flat tiles. The whole build should be built at nearly the same scale as the Tower Bridge. In fact, it's closer to the Bridge's scale than to Big Ben's. Statues and more sculptures: I actually think I went crazy with the details. Certainly for the statues. I really wanted everything to be there. I wanted every arm, leg, tree and bush to be there. The Arc de Triomphe was really my first big LEGO project. Beforehand, the biggest thing I had made were a few modular houses the size of the Pet Shop. This is the best I could do for the inside of the side arches. The four sculptures on the walls are all there, but I only took a picture (or tried) of this one). Ceiling main interior: The roof and the shields: This is the part I'm proudest of. With the shields, the real challenge was to get them all in. There are 11 shields each big side, and 4 (and a window) on each small side. There was actually not mathematical way to get them all in by simply stacking bricks on top of each other and have everything face upwards. So, I built the whole section using SNOT. The only thing that's not actually been built yet (because it's too expensive for what it is), is the sculptures surrounding the roof. And a couple of comparison shots: Alright, that's the Arc de Triomphe.

How can I post pictures? (Posting the picture itself, not the link to the picture.) Also, can I do this using imgur?
-
Oh, boy. Yeah, at first glance it looks like the Y-Wing's cockpit is a bit too big, but I'm sure it's actually rather fine. Also, there seems to be a lot more greebling on the body, which is always nice. As for the Desert Skiff... that Sarlacc looks worse than the previous one. I agree that the beak is more accurate, but it's not buried enough. The pit itself should be a bit bigger.
-
Is the UCS snowspeeder supposed to come out May 4th or will it come out around January, kinda like the Slave I?
-
Dark orange oval canopys for the Sarlacc? Isn't that a bit too dark? Last Sarlacc's dark tan was pretty good.

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Terrasher replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Imagine TLG made a set based on the Death Star attack in ANH. There would be a couple X-Wings, a Y-Wing, Vader's TIE-Advanced and a couple of TIE-Fighters. Something like the TIE collection set, y'know? The size of the ships would remain more or less the same, but the designs would be greatly improved. I know this will not happen, but hey, it could be a special set for a certain anniversary. -
Did they get rid of "view all"? Please tell me it's just hidden somewhere.

Honestly, I don't like it. The old one was much more practical. The main thing I don't like in the new website is that it sacrifices too much usability just to make it prettier, imo. Everything is way too big. Although, I do like the improved selection bar on the left of the screen (the one with "Interest", "availability" and "rating"). Other than that, I don't know, I think someone could get around much better and faster in the old website. It feels like there will be much more scrolling in this new site.
