Woops, thanks for telling me. I'll just copy-paste my opinion on that topic. Staff can lock or delete this.

(Move this if it's in the wrong forum, pls.) What do you guys and gals think of the new Shop@Home website? Honestly, I don't like it. The old one was much more practical. The main thing I don't like in the new website is that it sacrifices too much usability just to make it prettier, imo. Everything is way too big. Although, I do like the improved selection bar on the left of the screen (the one with "Interest", "availability" and "rating"). Other than that, I don't know, I think someone could get around much better and faster in the old website. It feels like there will be much more scrolling in this new site. So, what do you think? Do you like the new site or did you prefer the old one? Oh, also, I think I recall people complaining a lot about PaB in the new site (when the site was only available in a certain country or something). Is PaB in good condition or is it really bad now?

Assault on Hoth when video of it came out (the animated one with the AT-ATs): "Well, obviously there's gotta be way more than that!" Tons of disappointment. Death Star when rumors went nuts: "An outer shell? Half a sphere? Something different? I hope one of these is right!" Tons of disappointment.

Pretty. Very pretty. My favorite one is the pink one on the top right. Though I think I like the insects more than the flowers.

Big ol' meh. So no mini modulars this year? Those were much nicer than these figs. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Terrasher replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think Jamie's modulars are way more interesting and detailed than Astrid's. Astrid designed the Town Hall and Palace Cinema, my two least favorite modulars. I don't really like them because they look too boring and simple when compared to masterpieces such as the Green Grocer, Parisian Restaurant and Detective's Office (which were all designed by Jamie, I believe). I just hope next modular is comparable, in size, to the Green Grocer or Grand Emporium. -
600CAD then. This is one bullet my wallet's gonna dodge.

Couldn't one of the reasons the Death Star costs more than the Disney Castle be that it has so many actual bricks? It feels like the castle has more small pieces, that could be easier to produce, while the Death Star has a lot of bricks, which are medium-sized pieces and require more plastic to make. I'm not sure if brick size makes a huge difference in price, but it feels like it should.

Most big D2C sets from 2016 have been real great. The Ghostbusters Firehouse, Disney Castle, Beetle, etc. Although, thanks to Assault on Hoth and the "new" Death Star, 2016 sure as hell is the most disappointing year concerning Star Wars, imo.
-
Is this the worst year for Star Wars UCS's or what? Let's hope next May the 4th UCS is incredible enough to compensate for two wasted slots.

Having 10188, I'm happy this set looks similar enough to it. If it had been different, I'd probably want to buy it, but it's not, so it's an easy pass. Although, I'm sad because, for me, it's a wasted UCS slot.
-
I'm more excited about seeing the box art than the set itself. The new UCS's box art sure can be beautiful. Pictures, already!

Wouldn't it be possible, though very unlikely, that the new Desert Skiff contains a Bantha? If I recall correctly, there were a lot of them among the dunes when Jabba's Barge and the skiffs where heading towards the Sarlacc pit. It would be quite weird, but it would be one of the reasons the price is so strangely high.
-
I doubt it'd be bigger. If it costs 500$ and is bigger, then I doubt we'd see any big differences if the new Death Star is built the same way as 10188, unless there are no improved details whatsoever. I'd be surprised if it costs 400$, the same as 10188, and ends up being bigger, also.
-
W-what? Like, no removable outer shell at all? Oh man, I wonder how much different it'll look from 10188, then. I mean, what can they do? 10188 had pretty much everything interior-related included. Will the new one only have more details? That sucks, if it's true.

Definitely EXO-Force. All those mechs were incredible. Now that I think about it, EXO-Force used to be kind of like Bionicle. The standard good guy mechs vs the bad guy mechs, a few big "titan" mech sets, and then the smaller ones. Also, there were a few very cool location-based sets. Man, I wish I could have bought more of them when they were available...

There's something about that AT-ST that really bothers me... I don't know... it looks like a version that was stung by a bee.

After having read your replies and tested to see if your suggestions would work on my MOC, I've decided that the easiest way to solve my problem is to use element 2654. Since it's a bit too big, I'll use it in white so that it doesn't stand out more than it should on the final result. By the way, the shields aren't for minifigures, but for architectural detail... Thank you all for your replies, I look forward to sharing my MOC with y'all, I'm sure you'll love it.

Another close possiblity could be design 2654. It's a bit bigger than 6589 but the curved shape of 2654 is perfect for shields. I've tried the turntable, but the protruding studs are too noticeable. The train wheel might work, but the way to attach it to the rest of the structure will probably be kinda difficult. I'm looking for something you can attach to a 1x1 brick with stud on the side or a 1x1 with hole. Most parts LEGO uses as shields are much too big.

Hey everyone I need help finding a certain part that should be obtainable through Pick a Brick and / or Brick and Pieces. The part needs to be more or less as high as one plate. The thing is... it also has to be bigger than a 1x1 yet smaller than a 2x2. And it should be in white or LBG. I've tried with a 6589 gear in LBG, but I only have like 3, and I need more or less 30 of them. I've also wanted to try with the CMF sailor's hat, but, after searching the web, I've noticed it would stay at an angle when attached on anything. If this is too specific a part to find (which it very probably is), does anyone know about a non-purist way of getting such a piece? Like, buying the 6589 in tan (which is available through BaP) and then spray painting it? Would that end up looking good? Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I forgot to mention: the use of the part would be to make shields, so it needs to be round.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I actually hope it's not an inverted corner. It'd look quite out of place in a one-modular-deep street display (like craiggrannell said). -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Terrasher replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
My, my. Were these guesses to be surprisingly accurate, it'd be quite a jump in size from the latest modulars we've been getting. -
Not me. I bought the current Death Star in 2015 and am not ready to (probably) spend another half a grand CAD (or more) on another one. I sure hope it's not the same kind of structure, at least. I don't want the new Death Star to have the same shape as the current one. I want to see something along the lines of the old Kenner toys.

Hello! I've created this topic to discuss about anything related to landmark sets (Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Big Ben, etc.) You can talk about what you'd like to see as far as landmarks go, ask questions, post your opinion about any set, well, anything that's related to these beauties! To start off, I'd like to ask what everyone would like the next landmark(s) set(s) to be. For me, I'd see the Arc de Triomphe as a very good candidate. Even if the build would be mostly white bricks, I think it would make for a very nice display set. I've also thought about the Rome's Coliseum, but I think the build would be too repetitive, even for a landmark set.

Wow, that looks great! But a little small... But still very nice! On a side note, does anyone know whether or not the T1 Camper Van will retire before 2017?
