  1. 380CAD? Very nice, very nice...
  2. The set is growing on me, but for ~450CAD, it is pretty darn expensive, considering the castle costs 400CAD. I guess the train tracks and Powered Up pieces ramp up the cost. Announcement today? Or was the timer for the 13th just for the leak?
  3. Just saw the box pic, looks alright. Not as iconic as the castle itself, but that's hard to top. 330€? Is this going to be a ~450CAD set?
  4. Hey, all Betrayal at Cloud City, the UCS Millenium Falcon and the updated Death Star were all revealed in mid to late August. Has there been any more info about the rumored UCS Star Destroyer? IIRC, the last few years there used to be a lot more discussion and information about the October UCS by this time of the year. If TLG follows its past reveal dates, we could be in for some big news in late August, hopefully!
  5. I'm building the set right now and am truly impressed by how well the designers managed to get the shape of the tree trunk right while minimizing the amount of gaps. After building the Saturn V, the main tower of the microscale Hogwarts and now the Treehouse, I am thoroughly enjoying the techniques TLG has been using to achieve cylindrical shapes. So far, awesome set, fun build and beautiful standalone piece.
  6. I imagine the press release will be this wednesday, since the rumored release for VIPs is July 24th, I believe. Other sets that were available on the same day of their reveal were the Aston Martin and the Upside Down, right? It's still surprising to see sets be released on the same day we get official pictures. Early VIP or not, it's got to be coming real soon.
  7. There's an article over at Brickset about the set being available at SDCC. VIP release on July 24th, IIRC. Press release should be next week?
  8. Ooooh, this is looking prettier by the leak. Can't wait for a press release. Fingers crossed it's no more than 270CAD and (unlikely) gets an early VIP release.
  9. I keep seeing pictures of people finding this set in some stores. One had a receipt showing it costing 200USD. Release date is August 1st, right? Do we have a VIP release or a date for the official reveal?
  10. My wishlist is empty, but I have 5000 points that I can use to get 50$ off, which makes sense since I used to have 1000 VIP points. Only place that seems to be working for me is the mobile website, since desktop just keeps loading forever. It's cool that we can choose new rewards. As long as we get to keep the discounts and our points are properly transfered, I'm happy.
  11. Looks awesome. Do we have a price and release date for this set?
  12. This is an August release, right?
  13. Shame about the front printing on the Landspeeder. The texture added by the hoses used in previous versions made the set so much better. Ben's homestead is awesome. Always good to see TLG making sets that aren't remakes.
  14. I love the color. Like with the Chiron, I welcome uncommon colors to be used in the main palette of a set.
  15. Someone on the lego subreddit posted a topic about a LEGO Store employee mentioning that the next UCS will cost 699$, since they have a placeholder listing for such upcoming set. Take it with a grain of salt.
  16. 100% not what I was expecting. With the amount of iconic scenes and characters that would have been able to be included in a visitors' center, this set seems like a big missed opportunity to make something truly worthwile of being a Jurassic Park D2C.
  17. I think it's pretty neat to have a 5% discount (or 10% when X2 points) on everything on the store. Granted, you can find most sets discounted at 20% and beyond at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and other stores, but for big exclusives that rarely go on sale, a 5% - 10% discount is still a neat reward. Of course, the VIP system could be doing so much more, so I'm looking forward to what TLG has to offer.
  18. Hey, everyone. Looks like TLG will be changing the look and function of their VIP program very, very soon. We will have to redeem codes online to get discounts and rewards in store. Does anyone know or think that we will get to keep the 100$ -> 100 points -> 5$ reward system? When TLG announced the changes last year, I believe they mentioned the new system would come out in June 2019. What do you all think of the changes? What are you hoping for?
  19. Is anyone experiencing sagging with their set? The UCS Slave I required some modding to keep a large section from sagging. Is the model sturdy or does it bend under its own weight?
  20. It's gonna be a pass for me. I understand sacrificing outer looks for inner features and minifigure compatibility, but the front of the module just looks like a very angry, screaming face. I was hoping for something more accurate, like this awesome MOC: However, I highly doubt the MOC has as many (if any) play features / functionality. It's hard to keep low expectations when we are sometimes treated to incredible designs such as the Mustang's.
  21. Oooh, really looking forward to this set. I made a MOC of the top section of the lunar module once at minifig scale, and recently saw another MOC online that looked very nice. Suffice to say, if TLG nails this set, it might be a day one buy for me too!
  22. Woah... That art style look awesome, never expected TLG to do something like it.
  23. Did someone save the picture? I don't want to clutter the topic with another PM request, but I don't know who has kept the pic!
  24. At this point I'd be surprised if there were a fairground set this year. Apparently, a Stranger Things D2C is releasing in June, which is when the fairground sets have been coming out. There have also been pretty much zero rumors so far this year. However, there's set 10266 (Discovery) that I don't know what it may be. It only has about 1000 pieces so I doubt it'll be a fairground set.
  25. Are there any rumors about an upcoming, big fairground set? The Fairground Mixer, Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Rollercoaster all had their press releases between the 26 and the 30 of April, which is in two weeks. There were some rumors a few months back about one of those tall towers with spinning seats becoming a set, I believe. I really hope TLG doesn't drop this Creator Expert Fairground subtheme. There was no fairground set in 2016, though, but the Big Ben came out that year. Might there be a correlation between Landmark and Fairground sets? TLG's tight grip on D2C leaks makes it suspenseful having to wait for sets that might never be......... EDIT: From PrisonBrick a few months back: "Last D2C rumors: 10266 (Discovery Expert) 1087 pieces 16+ 10267 (Seasonal Expert) 1477 pieces 12+ 10269 (Vehicle Expert) 1023 pieces 16+ 71044 (Disney) 2925 pieces 12+ 75244 (Star Wars) 1768 pieces $199,99 75252 (Star Wars) 4782 pieces $499,99 16+ October 75936 (Jurassic World) 3120 pieces 16+ July 76139 (Batvehicle) ???? pieces PS: 10268 is Vestas Wind Turbine" Discovery expert? What is that codeword? EDIT II: Amazon.co.uk has a listing for a "LEGO Creator 10266 Confidential, Multi-Colour". The mystery deepens... EDIT III: Turns out there is an amusement park in Italy which has a pendulum ride called "Discovery". Hmmm...
