  1. (Apologies if this has been posted before) From user Haay at Brickpicker: "Seen the picture of it. It's going to be more popular than the Downtown Diner in my estimate! Three story corner building with a gas-station in the centre and a garage / car-working place on the right. First floor has a veterinarian office. Second floor looks to be living quarters. Very nice detailing! 2569 pieces. Official reveal tomorrow (Monday)."
  2. It's rumored that the set will be larger than the usual modular, right? If it is a garage and there are a few cars, maybe instead of being a full on 32×48 building, it could be a 32x32 building with a 16x32 gas station attached to it. I just hope it keeps the art deco style. If it is designed by Mike Psiaki, my expectations are pretty high! He always uses the coolest techniques in his sets.
  3. It's very unlikely that TLG decided to cancel one of its most beloved lines. The modular is probably missing because TLG knows that calendars usually show sets that haven't yet been revealed.
  4. I hope the new vibrant coral is used thoroughly in the new modular. Also hoping they keep the art deco style! If monday's the reveal date, which makes sense, it can't come soon enough. TLG has been running a VERY tight ship recently for large sets.
  5. I'd like to have 1 car included with every upcoming modular. I don't think the style of Speed Champions or most City cars really fits in with the design of the modulars. The Downtown Diner has a car (which looks a hundred times better than Palace Cinema's) and the building itself is absolutely precious. I'm hoping the inclusion of cars doesn't take away much time from the design process of the actual buildings.
  6. I'm liking the little vignettes TLG is releasing. That Death Star escape set, though tiny, would make a pretty neat desk piece. It's a shame the inferno battlepack comes with only 3 helmets, unless the fourth is hidden somewhere. What are the differences between this AT-AP and the last one? Last one was awesome. Is this the whole wave? I know winter waves don't come with many big sets, but do they usually come with so few sets?
  7. I have no interest in this set but I have to admit that the cover of the book looks very nice.
  8. IMO the Diner is one of the best modulars to date. Though it does look more modern than previous modulars, the use of SNOT throughout the build is incredible and really improves the look of the building. All the plate stripes where you'd think "this is where the floors can be separated" are hidden, which makes the building look so much more unified. Plus, I'm a sucker for curves, teal and art deco I really recommend the Diner to anyone who's on the fence about it, and am eager to see what aesthetic approach TLG follows for the upcoming modular.
  9. Downtown Diner was revealed by the end of November. Assembly Square and Brick Bank were both revealed mid October. It'd be awesome if TLG would reveal the next modular in the next week or two, but we'll probably end up seeing the first pictures around November, especially since leaks for D2Cs have been scarce lately.
  10. Is there still a rumor of Zuckuss being included in the 100$+ Slave I?
  11. Looking forward to this. It'll probably make a very nice stand alone set.
  12. I like the concept but I hope the use of skin pieces isn't used for every set. This koi model is rather nice, the skin parts make it more unique, but I hope most Forma models are fully made of bricks in the future.
  13. Can anyone compare the price/weight ratio of this set to that of other sets? I really like this model, but I'm having a terrible time trying to justify 250CAD for ~820 pieces. Bricklinking this set mustn't be that hard. Besides those green BURPs and the extension cable, the rest of the pieces are quite common.
  14. Awesome display. The black pieces glimmering slightly in the light make the ship look like a chunk of space.
  15. I was very excited for this set, but seeing that it's twice as pricey as I thought it would be, I'm hoping it'll go on sale somewhere where I can pick it up for a more reasonable price.
  16. I'm starting to like this set more and more. The video reviews make it look much better than the press release pictures. Although, I wouldn't spend 400CAD on this, though. Maybe if it sells pretty badly it'll go on sale at Amazon or ToysRUs (like AoH did). Other problem is the sheer size of it. I don't know where I'd display this!
  17. 20$ for 77 pieces in the Junior TIE? Those must be some huge pieces. 120$ for Slave I, interesting. The 2010 Slave I had about 550 pieces. I woner where those 450 additional pieces will go? Some good stuff on this list. Looking forward to what TLG has to offer for the 20th anniversary sets. They all seem small-ish.
  18. BACC is starting to grow on me. I'm more of a playsets or minifig-scale type of guy, so I hope this set is at ~25% off some day (which will probably happen only if it does horribly, like AoH). 400CAD is a lot for this set. I'll seriously consider it if I see it at +/- 300CAD.
  19. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but the picture of the dining room with Vader stopping Han's shot doesn't show the LBG triangles at the top of the wall that's shared with the carbon freezing chamber quadrant. Might the top be removable, then? But what for? Just for ease of access?
  20. I really wish we could have gotten more of the Vader / Luke duel. That scene deserves a set of its own. I'm starting to think TLG should have gone the way of Jabba's Palace and the Rancor Pit and released CC as multiple sets, without worrying about making the whole thing circular.
  21. Here's a 360 degree view from The Brothers Brick:
  22. And there will still be a ton of people who will buy this set to check out the play features and then put on display, like the Ewok Village, Assault on Hoth and Death Star, which didn't have a footprint as large as Betrayal on CC.
  23. I wonder how people are going to display this set. 56cm x 58cm is huge, but at 16cm tall it's very flat. IMO, this is a weird set to display because I can imagine it sticking out of shelves or being too high up for people to properly look at. Could be good for a coffee table, just like 75192...
  24. It's awesome that it's got a ton of things going on, but the overall set looks like a huge mess. The Death Star is a lot slicker and smoother overall (I'm talking about the inside rooms, not the outer shape), but it's understandable since CC is much more diverse in shapes and colours. Will probably pass. Probably. Also, that box art is pretty bad, but at least it shows most of the rooms.
  25. Those measurements can't be right. 5" x 10" x 12"? That's not the whole thing, is it? I understand if the landing pad is that big, but not the whole set. Either way I'm quite intrigued. Eh, we'll see very, very, very soon.
